Chapter 285: Chapter 285: The Devil Shows Up

Doujin Artist: What’s this physical exorcism thing? Is that a real type of exorcism?

Curly-haired Guy: How does your physical exorcism work? Do you just kill the victim and the demon together?

Machete Girl: That’s why I don’t know either. But don’t worry, I’ll keep an eye on Janet and make sure she doesn’t mess around.

Inside the room right now.

Janet has prepared all sorts of exorcism tools: holy water, a bible, long nails, a chain, and two old pictures. They’re supposed to be real images of Lucifer and Satan, to lure the demon out.

Janet very seriously sprinkles holy water all over the room, holds a big knife in her left hand, and starts chanting loudly from the bible in her right hand. The lights around them are visibly flickering on and off, and a terrible scream is coming from the girl on the bed.

Katsura Kotonoha thinks this scene looks classic, so she takes a gif and sends it to the group chat.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Wow, this really looks like a movie scene.

Doujin Artist: It’s not just like it, it is a scene from that movie ”The Exorcist”! Kotonoha, did you wander onto the wrong set?

Machete Girl: When I came in earlier, I also thought I was on the wrong set, but the priest in ”The Exorcist” is definitely not Janet.

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: That’s true. With your special skills in fixing up girlfriends, you could make an independent movie.

Doujin Artist: Seriously, for Satan’s sake?

Curly-haired Guy: If there really is a God, he’d probably be moved to tears by his follower. A nun worshiping Satan? What kind of crazy plot is this?

Machete Girl: Well, she said it was just a slip of the tongue.

Pretty Boy from Skull Island: Is it really just a slip of the tongue?

Lin Fengjiao: I don’t think you all need to worry too much about this. Today on Spirit Island, I even saw a Western monster worshiping Jesus Christ.

Doujin Artist: Your Western monsters are all vampires and werewolves, right? They worship Jesus Christ? What kind of real-world fantasy is this?

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Hey! Freedom! This is real personal freedom! Not being held back by rules, rising to new heights in life! Oh, man! This is so cool!

Doujin Artist: Are you starting to preach your stupid freedom ideas again? Look at everyone in the group, does anyone agree with you?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Freedom needs to be promoted, but freedom isn’t absolute, and you have to understand where you stand. If exploiters have freedom, the exploited won’t. If capitalists have freedom, the working class won’t.

Curly-haired Guy: Ruiko, I think trying to teach this guy anything is a waste of time. His head is full of mush, he won’t use it to learn.

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: Ah Yin, you say that like you actually learn these things?

Curly-haired Guy: I do! Of course, Yin-san does! Don’t underestimate me, you jerk!

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Wait, wait. Capitalist? Working class? Hey, I think I’ve heard these words somewhere? Damn, it’s been so long I can’t remember! Can some sweetie explain what these two words mean?

Machete Girl: It’s pretty simple. Tony Stark is a capitalist, and you’re working class. He has endless resources and means of production to waste, while you only have your mutation to rely on.

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Damn, that’s unfair! Damn it, that’s totally unfair! I’m way better looking than him, why can he be a capitalist?

Doujin Artist: I get it, you really don’t have a clue about yourself. With that face of yours, you really dare to say you’re good looking?

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Of course, why wouldn’t I? Am I not telling the truth? The girls in those bars, don’t they all call me a handsome quick-shooter?

Doujin Artist: ?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Handsome... quick-shooter?

This is an Actor: That’s quite a title.

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Right? That’s what I think too. They say my gun is fast and accurate, and can even shoot in bursts!

Curly-haired Guy: Hahahaha, you’re an idiot! You’re actually proud of that? Damn, you seem pretty pleased with yourself!

Scarlet Lotus Fairy: I don’t really get it, why can’t you be proud of being a fast and accurate shooter?

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: That’s because Mochou, you don’t understand the hidden meaning. Try replacing that gun with that gun.

Scarlet-Eyed Blind Woman: ...I understand.

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Hey, guys! What kind of riddle are you talking about? The thing I hate most in this world is people who speak in riddles, you know? Yes! Like that Riddler who terrorized Gotham City!

Machete Girl: That’s from DC comics, why do you, who are from Marvel, hate him?

Doujin Artist: We don’t really have riddles, we just think you’re a really good quick-shooter. Keep it up, quick-shooter! You’re the fastest!

Foul-Mouthed Mask Guy: Of course, I’ve always been the fastest! Faster than that jerk Tony! Damn capitalist, sooner or later I’m going to strip him naked and parade him through the streets!

Skirt-Flipping Maniac: Shouldn’t it be hanging him from a lamppost?

Amegakure Village’s Angel: Actually, Deadpool doesn’t hate capitalists at all, he just hates that he can’t become one himself. If you keep thinking like that, you won’t improve.

Machete Girl: It’s hard to improve. I’ve been in America for a few days, and I’ve been really struck by something. Hedonism is everywhere here, even the nuns are like that.

After sending the message, Katsura Kotonoha glances at Janet, who is still performing the exorcism.

The girl’s forehead is sweating, but she’s still fulfilling her duty. She’s definitely dedicated, but Katsura Kotonoha really doesn’t appreciate all this fancy stuff.

”Agh!” It seems like the right moment, the girl tied to the bed suddenly lets out a painful scream. Twisting her body, she spits out dark green liquid.

Snap, snap.

The ropes binding her are broken by brute force, the girl suddenly floats in the air, and her eyes change from pale white to pure black.

Whoosh.

Very suddenly, a pitch-black, strange object emerges from the girl’s body.

It has a big, round head, arms and legs spread out in all directions, eight bright red eyes on its head, and it giggles strangely at Janet and Kotonoha.
