THE GOD EATER

He should be angry that they tried to cheat him, but he couldn’t help but chuckle and say, ”They are so cute for trying to trick me. I’ll give them an A for their attempt. But their execution needs more work.”

”What they should have done right from the start is swear a tricky and deceitful oath that the price they stated was real. If they had sworn an oath, my suspicion would have reduced by more than half. It would have been unlikely for me to ask around, trying to check if they were lying or not. Clearly, they have a lot to learn before they can pull the wool over my eyes.”

He chuckled some more mocking their attempt at cheating him. Then he shook his head and said, ”I should forget about the Life Value Meters anyway. I will only fall into a war of information and propaganda if I go that route.”

”If the Apex God, who is clearly cheating his disciples, can come out and say that he was slandered before bringing out his own Life Value Meters that show favorable results, trying to fight back with my Life Value Meters will only be falling into a quagmire.”

”If I say he is lying, he will say I am lying. Nothing can be trusted, and all of the mortals will lose faith in the Olympic Sect.”

”So what I need to do is think outside the box and create something that no one can contest. It has to be something marvelous that only the Olympic Sect can do and is clear at a glance.”

”With a benefit that cannot be ignored, is highly valuable, and clear at a glance, mortals will flock to my sect regardless of the propaganda of the other sects,” he said with his eyes lighting up with excitement.

He was excited because he already had an idea. It was a good idea that could potentially meet all of the requirements he set for it. Because of its immense potential, he didn’t hesitate to get to work making it a reality.

His goal was to turn the Olympic Sect into a premier sect by creating something only the Olympic Sect could do. He wanted to make something like the Root of Life, and to find inspiration, he went back to memories of perks he enjoyed through Fenrir as a mortal or a divine being.

He remembered his Armored Skin Life Ability, which could change shape and color, and grow by eating metals. So his first idea was to find a way to give his disciples something like that.

But then he remembered that the abilities of the Armored Skin Life Ability could be copied by any Dao Lord, especially the Dao Lord of the Forging Pathway. After all, the Armored Skin Life Ability was initially based on the Armored Shell Life Ability of the Forging Pathway.

Aside from the Forging Pathway, the Transformation Pathway and the Death Pathway can also copy the Armored Skill Life Ability to give to their disciples as Branch Metacs that any of them could do.

In fact, the Transformation Pathway can do transformations better than the Forging Pathway. As for the Death Pathway, some blood-manipulation Metacs already create blood that can change color and shape.

Others included the Illusion Pathway, with its Shape-shifting Metacs, and the Darkness Pathway, with its Shadow Manipulation Metacs. And these were just the pathways that could already do what he had in mind. He couldn’t imagine what would happen if other pathways decided to copy it.

The point was that the idea wasn’t special enough. So he thought back to something else that divine beings could enjoy that mortals couldn’t.

As he racked his brain, he remembered that mortals couldn’t have or use a Cave Heaven unless they were reincarnations of divine beings. Then he remembered that he had gained a Cave Heaven as a rank 5 being and had been able to use it to kill a divine being as a mortal.

When he remembered that he was the only mortal who was able to enjoy that perk through Fenrir, he got to work trying to create a way for every mortal to use Cave Heavens to amplify their mortal.

This was taking things a little further because even when he gained the Cave Heaven through Fenrir, he couldn’t use it to amplify his strength. He could only use it to suppress other mortals or resist the suppression of other divine beings.

It wasn’t until he became a divine being that the size of his Cave Heaven translated into raw power for him. Yet, he was trying to give mortals the ability to do something only divine beings could do.

This made him chuckle evilly as he thought, ’If I can manage it, it will be checkmate.’

’With a Cave Heaven for power, it won’t matter even if I am stealing my disciples’ lifespan. It won’t matter if I don’t give my disciples any boost to my lifespan because all of my disciples will be comparable to divine beings and will be able to destroy the disciples of other sects no matter how much lifespan those lifespans have.’

’When a rank 2 disciple of my sect can destroy rank 5 disciples of other sects and when rank 5 disciples of my sect can contend with the divine beings of other sects, the difference in power will be irrefutable, and the Olympic Sect will become the undeniable greatest sect in the Sea of Worlds.’

As he ran across the upper realm, he contorted a new kind of Metac within his inner world. While he worked, he also activated the Hunting Body Metac, which converted his body into a giant white wolf with a black tail. He was now a giant, four-legged wolf running on all fours, not in his humanoid form.

The Hunting Body Metac creates wolf manifestations and can transfer his full power to them. When the Hunting Body Metac is activated on himself, he can enhance his physical capabilities with his spirit.
