THE GOD EATER

Then his voice became frigid as he said, ”But you’ve had your round. I am next, and I hope for your sake that you can handle what I have to put out.”

Black Chain didn’t seem to mind the threat. The white monkey kept his eyes closed and looked like nothing Loki could do could affect it.

Loki still had a smile on his face, but in the depths of the Spark of Power, his eyes were narrowed in anger. The gaze with which he stared at Black Chain was a serpentine one full of venom.

”This is not over yet,” he said with a sneer.

Even before he spoke, he had already recalled his avatar to the Divine Mountain.

Since he no longer had an avatar taking up his single active godhead, he had now become free to create another avatar. He chose to use this opportunity to create an avatar through the divine constellation of the Blessed Heaven World.

So, just after speaking, the star of the Devouring Pathway in the divine constellation lit up with grand might. Then it swelled as it began falling into the lower realm.

On its way down, the black star was also changing shape. It morphed from a ball of darkness into a humanoid wolf with white fur and a black tail.

With grand might and power, the avatar of the only Mountain Lord of the Sea of Worlds descended into the Blessed Heaven World and entered the first dimension. The avatar strode across the world toward the nearest gray pillar, unconcerned and disregarding the world’s rules.

”Is that it?” the avatar asked Black Chain. ”Is this what all of your plans amount to?”

Black Chain didn’t reply, and the white monkey, his avatar, remained still with its eyes closed.

But just then, with equal might, the Blessed Heaven World trembled as it brought down all of its power onto the humanoid wolf, shackling it and restricting its movement.

When this happened, the white monkey finally opened its eyes. In those white eyes was boundless mockery.

The white monkey sneered as it said, ”I knew you would do this.”

”You’re so full of yourself. You’re too rash, and there is no way you will let this unjust slight go. So I knew that if I limited your options enough, you would be forced to send an avatar with a weaker strength to deal with me.”

It grinned as it said, ”You probably thought I would try to ambush you. Unfortunately, I’ve learned my lesson. Instead of risking my life, I employed the services of the only person who can threaten you in the lower realm.”

”The Will of the Blessed Heaven World can even take down that full-power avatar you can create with your Divine Mountain. But to ensure success, I set up the fight for your weak avatar.”

Then he laughed and said, ”I look forward to seeing your downfall. It will be the proper revenge for what you did to me.”

Upon hearing this, Tepid Scholar clapped and said, ”I must say that I have never been this glad to be wrong. It is exhilarating and refreshing.”

”How cool,” Heavenly Eye said, flapping the wings of her avatar and clapping them against each other.

”I knew that they were targeting you, but I didn’t expect the scheme to go this far. It seems Black Chain still has it. ”

But Martial Will snorted and said to Black Chain, ”What are you so happy about?”

”It is not like you killed him yourself. At best, you used trickery to bring him down. What’s so good about that?”

Martial Will’s voice was full of disapproval, but it did nothing to dampen Black Chain’s enthusiasm.

Black Chain was still smiling as he said, ”Even if I die someday, my name will go down in history as the person responsible for the death of the first Mountain Lord.”

”I might never become a Mountain Lord, but I would have brought one down. What’s not to like about that?”

In the Blessed Heaven World, the white-furred humanoid wolf was weighed down by the world’s entire power, leaving it unable to move.

The voice of the world boomed like thunder, saying, ”Surrender!”

Loki replied, saying, ”Never!”

”Then I shall crush you,” the Will of the world said confidently.

After speaking, it activated the only Supreme Metac it had in its possession and could activate at the moment. It activated the Lightning Supreme Metac, so lightning appeared in the sky above the humanoid wolf. Then lightning smashed down on Loki.

Loki in turn activated the Devouring Supreme Metac and turned himself into a giant black sphere. But the lightning smashed through the sphere and struck his body, bathing him with destructive energy.

As his body was being destroyed, the Will of the World cackled madly, saying, ”Die, scum!”

”Noooooooo!” Loki screamed in pain.

The Will of the World seemed to be enjoying his cries of pain as it cackled even louder as it said, ”I told you to surrender, but you refused to be reasonable. Now you’ll pay the price for your insolence.”

”Don’t celebrate yet,” Loki said defiantly. ”I am not dead yet, and it will take a lot more than that to kill me.”

The Will of the World snorted in disdain and said, ”That’s good too. I want you to suffer for a long time before I destroy you.”

As it spoke, more lightning fell from the sky, destroying Loki’s body. But Loki recovered quickly, making him seem unkillable. This made the Will of the World wary.

The Will of the World suddenly remembered how every other super world had been confident about defeating Loki, only to surrender to him halfway and beg for mercy.

It didn’t want the same thing to happen to it, so the Will said to Black Chain, ”He is too difficult to kill. If we want to kill him, the best method is to bombard him with everything we have in a short amount of time. So I need your help.”
