THE GOD EATER

As he was trying to come up with methods to control the population of his disciples, he remembered the Earthly and Heavenly Battlefields, which made him think,’I can also limit the advancement rate by sending my disciples to fight on battlefields with a high casualty rate.’

’This is blameless, so no one can say that I am intentionally killing my disciples. But it might be inefficient, slow, and less accurate to control their population.’

’Then again, I could also use both methods. I am now a Dao Lord and can do whatever I want with the lives of my disciples,’ he thought, making his grin wider.

Before he made the decision to increase the benefits of the lifespan to 400%, he made the calculations just to be sure that he could afford it.

He calculated that if 1 billion cultivators get to support 10% of their population at rank 2, 1% of the rank 2 population at rank 3, 1% of the rank 3 population at rank 4, and 1% of the rank 4 population at rank 4, they would be supporting 100 million rank 2, 1 million rank 3, 10,000 rank 4, and 100 rank 5.

Since the 100 million rank 2 would get 100% of their lifespan, the 1 million rank 3 would get 200%, the 10,000 rank 4 would enjoy 300%, and the 100 rank 5 would enjoy 400%. Therefore, on average, he should prepare for 102,030,500 people getting a 100% boost to their lifespan.

With 102,030,500 people getting benefits from the 1 billion cultivators, 897,969,500 people would have to foot the bill. And if these 897,969,500 people only get to spend half of their lifespan before they die for one reason or another, he would have enough lifespan to give 448,984,750 people a boost of 100% of their lifespan.

So once he takes care of the 102,030,500 beneficiaries from the 448,984,750 supply of lifespan, he would have the lifespan of 346,954,250 people to do with whatever he wanted.

This number also meant a greater benefit in this world because most of the inhabitants of this world aren’t humans. There are humans in this world, but they are mostly in the Northern Domain, which is Tepid Scholar’s territory.

Tepid Scholar had brought humans into his Domain in this world because they are smart, and he likes smart people. Unfortunately, mortals have a short lifespan and poor potential.

In comparison, the rest of the super world is occupied by rock people who like the volcanic environment of the super world. These people have a greater potential than humans and can live up to 500 years.

The difference in lifespan means that with the system, he can earn 346,954,250 * 100 lifespan, which is 34,695,425,000 years, from the humans. But he can earn five times that amount from the Rockies, making establishing a sect in this world more profitable.

’According to my calculations, even a 300% boost with every advancement from rank 2 is profitable. I would still have the lifespan from 40,863,200 people to use for myself.”

”As long as I don’t go beyond that point, I will always make a profit. But even if I reach that point, as long as I reduce the number of beneficiaries by limiting their advancements, I would still make a profit.’

Then his eyes turned to the mortals of other pathways as he thought, ’Speaking of artificially limiting the number of mortals, I really want to kill the cultivators of the other pathways.’

He truly wanted to kill the cultivators of the other Dao Lords, partly to get back at them for what they did to him, but it was mostly to reduce the population of cultivators.

If he reduced the total population of cultivators, the number of people he would need to convert to his pathway to entrench his pathway would reduce.

Right now, there are a total of eleven pathways entrenched in this world. Three of them belonged to Tepid Scholar, one belonged to Black Chain, two belonged to Green Fire, and five belonged to the world. Therefore, each pathway is worth 1/11 of the 9.09% of the divine constellation.

If he is to entrench his pathway into the world, the total entrenched pathways would become 12, and his single pathway would be worth 8.33%. Therefore, if he wants to make it impossible for the Will of the world to remove his pathway, he must recruit at least 8.33% of the total population of the world.

The population of the world is around 700 billion. So to gain control of 8.33% of the population, he would need to recruit 58.3 billion people.

But if he kills the cultivators of Tepid Scholar’s three pathways, Black Chain’s one pathway, and Green Fire’s two pathways, he would be getting rid of six portions of control, or 50% of the population, which is 350 billion people.

When 350 billion people die, he would only need to recruit 29.16 billion people. This would make it very easy for him to permanently entrench his sect in the world.

As it is, he was already making a lot of progress by recruiting mortals directly. Not only is it impossible for a mortal to say no to a rank 9 being, but mortals also have a vested interest in actively recruiting people for him because they would earn 1 year of lifespan for each person that they recruit.

This is an unfair advantage because other Dao Lords can’t do what he is doing. They can’t send their avatars down for fear of losing the avatars, and they definitely can’t help mortals gain more lifespan.

At best, they steal disciples from each other by using Earthly Battlefields to kill the disciples of other sects and funnel the souls of the slain disciples into their Domain. So he was already enjoying too many advantages compared to other Dao Lords.
