THE GOD EATER

While the will of the Blessed Heaven World and Tepid Scholar were joining forces against him, a Dao Lord had sent a secret message to Loki.

The message went directly into his mind, saying, ”I can help you stop Tepid Scholar from helping the will of the world. I can even make it so that Tepid Scholar helps you instead.”

”The will of the world likes him very much, so it will listen to him. If he tells the will of the world to let you go, it will do so. All you have to do is give him the Forging Supreme Metac.”

This time, the sender of the message was hiding their identity. He couldn’t tell from their voice who they were, which is something he could easily do before because the pressure of the existence of Dao Lords always accompanied their spoken words.

Because of this, the Dao Lord responsible for the message could be anyone. It could even be Tepid Scholar. So Tepid Scholar could be cozying up with the will of the realm and using it to force him to hand over the Forging Supreme Metac.

As he thought of this possibility, he snorted inwardly, thinking, ’It doesn’t matter either way.’

He was sure that a scheme was being played on him. But he didn’t care about it because he didn’t believe that he had anything to fear.

So he ignored the message and scoffed as he said to the will of the Blessed Heaven World, ”Dream on.”

”There is just one tiny little detail you’re missing. You need power to do all of those things. None of your Dao Lords have the power to contend with me. So how do you expect to trap me, imprison me, and even kill me if I remain stubborn?”

As soon as he asked that question, another secret message came to him, saying, ”OK. You don’t need to give him the Forging Supreme Metac for free. You can sell it to him. State a price.”

He ignored this message too and instead paid attention to what the will of the world had to say about the error in its plan that he had generously pointed out.

He heard the phantom dragon nod and say, ”You may have a point. But it is not a matter that has eluded me, so you don’t have to worry about me.”

”I’ve seen your fight with the avatars of my Dao Lords. It was a short fight, but it was full of a lot of information. I have learned a lot from the fight.”

”As it happens, one of the things I learned is how to defeat you. I think it will be easy to defeat you, so I’m sure I have enough power to go through with my plan.”

In response, a sneer appeared on Loki’s face, and it became more exaggerated as he said, ”Black Chains couldn’t defeat me, but you think you can defeat me? How full of yourself are you?”

The phantom dragon, shaking its head in disagreement, said, ”You didn’t fight the true Black Chains. What you fought was an avatar of it. That amount of power was less than 1% of what he is truly capable of. So you’re the one who has become full of himself because of a victory over some avatars.”

”Even if you had fought the true Black Chains, you would have fought a Dao Lord without a Divine Spark and without a method to offset their load of Entropy. I do not lack such weaknesses.”

With a grave and solemn voice, it said, ”I am not as powerful as a Dao Lord, but I have a Divine Spark, and I am the most powerful being in the lower realm of the Sea of Worlds. Therefore, I think I have the right to believe I could defeat you.”

After hearing these things, Loki nodded and said, ”In any case, there is only one way to find out who is right to be proud and who is being overconfident.”

As soon as he said this, another secret message entered his mind, saying, ”Alright. You’ve proven your point. I can see now that you’re an incredibly stubborn person who wouldn’t let anyone try to cheat him.”

This time, the sender of the message wasn’t hiding their identity. So he could tell that the message came from Heavenly Eye.

Just hearing her voice, he could picture her image in his mind. It was as if she was right there in his mind speaking to him. This was different from the blankness he got from the source of the previous two secret messages.

This made him scoff inwardly and think, ’I knew it was her. She has the right tools to hide her identity like that.’

As he thought this, he broke open the barriers between the first and the third dimension. Based on this action, his goal was clear. Even without reading his mind, the Dao Lords above could tell what he was about to do.

So another secret message came to him, and the voice in the message was anxious as it said, ”Don’t go too far. I know that you’re angry that we tried to cheat you, but it is not a good idea to let your anger blind you into digging your grave.”

”If you do this, you will offend the will of the Blessed Heaven World without any chance of reconciliation. The will of the world will be so offended that Tepid Scholar won’t be able to convince it to forgive you.”

”In fact, Tepid Scholar wouldn’t need to help you get free anymore. He would have a better chance paying the will of the world to force you to release the Forging Supreme Metac.”

If all of this were to happen, Tepid Scholar wouldn’t pay her since she didn’t help him make Loki sell the Forging Supreme Metac. She didn’t want to miss out on that payment, since it was exorbitant, so she was anxious to convince Loki to give up on his suicidal ideas.
