THE GOD EATER

With a hint of admiration, she thought, ’So not only is he saving his brother, but he is also setting a bait out for Black Chains with his existence. Knowing Black Chains, that control freak wouldn’t hesitate to descend to kill him.’

’However, if this is all the Time Traveler has to fight and kill Black Chain’s avatars, it won’t work. He is lacking a little bit of power. At this rate, he will expose my secret and then die.’

’If the Time Traveler dies, not only will Black Chains get another Cosmic Dao, but he will also get the Time Traveler’s Divine Spark and Divine Tower. What do I do?’

While she was thinking, the other Dao Lords also began to summon their avatars into the Sea of Worlds. Each of them sent one avatar even though they had more than one pathway. Clearly, they were holding back to avoid losing too much in this fight.

Some might consider their decision to limit their risk smart, but it didn’t look like a smart decision to her considering what was at stake in this situation. She knew that there was more at stake other than the Time Pathway, so in her opinion, the only smart move was to send two avatars.

She was sure, though, that the other Dao Lords would have done the same thing if they knew what she knew. So their apparent stupidity could be excused as a symptom of their ignorance.

Being in her place and having the information she had, she could help them cure this symptom of ignorance by telling them what they were missing. But for obvious reasons, she decided to keep that information to herself.

Because of the decision of the Dao Lords, five more stars appeared in the sky of the Blessed Heaven World. For those in the know, the appearance of these stars meant one thing and only one thing. It meant war between the gods of the Sea of Worlds.

Black Chains didn’t know what the other Dao Lords had said and what they were planning because they didn’t add him to their circle of discussion. But once he saw the appearance of the five stars from the other domains, he knew what they were about to do to him.

Seeing this, he snorted and said in displeasure, ”Why are you descending to the Blessed Heaven World? Don’t you know that the presence of so many Dao Lords in the Blessed Heaven World would damage it?”

He singled out Tepid Scholar directly as he said, ”And you, old man. I thought you were smart. You of all people should know better than to encourage so many avatars to descend to the Blessed Heaven World.”

In response, Tepid Scholar smiled harmlessly and said, ”We are only doing this to help you, fellow daoist. No need to thank us. We didn’t do this to get something from you. As long as we’re helpful a little bit, we will be satisfied.’

Tepid Scholar chose to be subtle with his threats, but Martial Will didn’t have the patience for intrigue like that. The Dao Lord of the Martial Body Sect scoffed at Black Chains and said, ”Look at you speaking as if you care about the Blessed Heaven World. What nonsense.”

”We know that you don’t care. So spare us the dribble and spittle. Prepare to overcome a lot of difficulties before you can have your way today.”

His words made Black Chains laugh, saying, ’Hahahahahaha! What a joke.”

As he laughed, he said, ”You want to make things difficult for me? You and what army?”

Down below, the black monkey was approaching the dragon rapidly. As he moved through the air, the air in the area of 2,780 around him was frozen. But the air beyond 2,780 was moving normally.

The frozen air around him formed a sphere that pushed through the air and knocked aside everything in his way. Unlucky mountains that he ran into were crushed by the frozen air as if a herd of giant cattle trampled over them.

Black Chains didn’t stop for anything. There was only one thing in his eyes that he was concerned with, and that was how to suppress the dragon with his external body.

His external body had been deployed around his avatar. He didn’t inject any instructions into the external body, though. According to his plan, it wasn’t yet time for that.

He didn’t believe that Time Traveler could defeat him, but he was still going to take this fight seriously. Especially since he believed that Time Traveler was most likely to escape when things start looking bad for the fallen Dao Lord.

Because of this, Black Chains planned to suppress Time Traveler and keep him here. And if need be, he was ready to fight and kill Time Traveler across the River of Time.

As the wielder of the Cosmic Dao of Death, he was confident that he could take down the Cosmic Dao of Time. In fact, he was confident that he could kill the Time Traveler regardless of whatever time-manipulating tricks the fallen Dao Lord had up their sleeve.

The death he planned to give the Time Traveler is one that can’t be avoided by reversing time. Once he killed the Time Traveler, the Time Traveler would no longer be able to exist beyond this period of time in the River of Time.

He knew that his goal was going to be difficult to achieve, which was why he didn’t want to antagonize the world around him and initiate resistance from the world by injecting instructions into his external body.

He wanted to limit every source of Entropy to the Time Traveler, so he kept his external body in check. However, once he got within 2,117 kilometers of the Time Traveler, he let go of his restraints.

He roared at the Time Traveler, saying, ”Die for me!”

As he spoke, he injected the power of the Death Proclamation Metac into his external body.
