THE GOD EATER

He also used all of his power to support the proclamation and the curse causing the world to quake around him. This caused black wind to spring into existence in the area of 2,780 kilometers around him. Gone was the frozen air around him. It had now been replaced by the wind of death.

The black wind sped up and surged around him like a hurricane. But it wasn’t a mortal hurricane in any definition of it. No, this hurricane was so powerful that it uprooted an entire mountain and flung it into the air like a mortal would throw a small stone.

As the mountain became airborne, it was slowly ground down by the black wind. The massive mountain broke apart piece by piece into black sand. The black sand also broke down into black dust. Then the black dust joined the surrounding black winds and made them stronger.

With the force of a mountain uprooting a hurricane, the domain of black winds smashed into the area of 2,117 kilometers of the Time Traveler.

Black Chains expected some resistance from the Time Traveler’s external body, or he would be disappointed in the fallen Dao Lord. Fortunately, he wasn’t disappointed. There was indeed some resistance.

The black winds smashed into what appeared to be a frozen sphere of air. This was expected. But what Black Chains didn’t expect was that the hurricane of black winds that he conjured would fail to overwhelm the sphere of frozen air.

Instead of breaking the frozen air, the black wind began to freeze from the point of contact with the dragon’s external body. So not only did he fail to break through the opposing external body, but his own external body was being encroached upon and slowly converted.

”Impossible. This can’t be happening.”

It was already unbelievable for him that Time Traveler could match him with raw power. But what made him extra surprised was the unnatural way his external body was being suppressed.

As a smart man, this slight defeat made him begin to consider backing off. He hadn’t decided yet to give up, but his black avatar had slowed down, and the other four avatars were also taking some steps away from the dragon.

’Should I give up or should I try to overwhelm him with my five avatars? And what about the other Dao Lords? What should I use to deal with them?’

’If I am contemplating using my five avatars to attack one enemy, maybe this is a sign that the situation could go terribly wrong. If my five avatars fail to suppress him, what then?’

As his avatars were taking a step back, the world froze in his perception. It looked like the world had frozen to give him time to examine the situation, think about his options, and make a decision.

He looked around and saw the five avatars of the other Dao Lords. He saw that the five avatars had descended. He also saw that the five avatars were as surprised as he was by the turn of events.

However, unlike him, who had a lot to consider because the situation wasn’t going as well as he planned, this unexpected event was still in line with their goal. Their goal was to gang up on him and beat him to death. His inability to defeat the Time Traveler has only improved their chances of getting their wish.

The five avatars were still rushing to fight his avatars. Their motion was slow, though. In his vision, they were moving slower than snails, and it looked like it would take them forever to reach him.

After seeing these things, he said to himself, ’It looks like I am being surrounded.’

He snorted as he thought, ’They really want to bury me here.’

’Fortunately, I am not without options. Sword Maestro is the weak point. I should break out from his direction.’

’My Enslavement avatar is in his direction. As long as it is careful, I should be able to subdue him. I should also...’

His thoughts stopped here because the dragon had finally made a move. The world was frozen from his perspective, but the dragon was somehow able to move.

The dragon pointed at his avatars in turn, one after the other. As Time Traveler pointed, an invisible blade surged from his finger in the direction of the avatars.

The avatars moved aside to dodge the attack. But invisible balls erupted out of the dragon’s external body and surged towards them.

The invisible balls were too many. They were small like bubbles, but they whistled through the air like arrows, and they moved at speeds faster than the speed of light.

When the tiny invisible bubbles rushed together, they behaved like a landslide of rocks falling down a mountain. And like a landslide, the invisible balls struck his avatars and submerged them. Then the balls fused into one big bubble with the avatars trapped within the bubbles.

Everything inside the bubble was frozen, so his five avatars were now trapped. As for the invisible blades of temporal force, they didn’t leave the Time Traveler’s external body. Clearly, it was a feint.

In the sky, Black Chain’s true body saw that his avatars had been frozen, and he was in shock. The disbelief washed over him again and again as he tried to make sense of what had happened.

His disbelief also came with fierce resistance. He refused to accept defeat, so he continued to control his avatars to fight.

As his commands were sent down from his true body into his avatars, he sensed his commands falling into an abyss. Whenever the commands reached the avatars, they disappeared. It felt as if he was throwing stones down a well.

His avatars were puppets to his will. Usually, they would do everything he wanted them to do without a hitch. But the dragon had transformed them into blocks of stone instead. At least, that’s what he felt when he tried to regain control of them.
