THE GOD EATER

She explained her reasons, saying, ”Not just you and Dao Initiates in general, but we Dao Lords also use divine crystals to advance, so if I know somewhere to find some, the divine crystal would be long gone by now. If the divine crystal is not gone yet, then I have even less reason to tell you where it is. I’ll keep the information to myself until I’ve excavated all that there is to get.”

Loki was disappointed to hear this, and it showed in his voice as he said, ”Does that mean I can only go wandering about in the third heaven to get it?”

Green Fire interjected with a laugh, ”You can also target other Dao Lords. As long as you can kill a Dao Lord, you will inherit their vault of divine crystals.”

Carefree Immortal also said, ”You can also try to impress the current guardian of the Sea of Worlds. If you impress him, he might give you some divine crystals.”

This made Loki frown and say, ”A guardian? What’s that, and where do I meet them?”

The other seven Dao Lords were glaring fiercely at Carefree Immortal, so this Dao Lord of the Carefree Immortal Sect said to Loki, ”I don’t know either. He is mysterious that way.”

As soon as he said this, Tepid Scholar said, ”Good choice there.”

Immovable Mountain asked him, saying, ”Why did you mention the guardian? That guy is our enemy.”

Carefree Immortal quickly apologized, chuckling as he said, ”Don’t mind me. I got carried away.”

Black Chains didn’t say anything, but he snorted in displeasure. Actually, if he were in his heyday, he would have taught Carefree Immortal a lesson just now.

Of course, there was nothing he could do to Carefree Immortal’s true body. Until he could find Carefree Immortal’s true body, the only thing he could damage was the Carefree Immortal Sect.

While he was thinking about the things he could have done, he heard Martial Will say, ”Now that we’re done with that, can we talk about war?”

Black Chain’s face immediately darkened as he said, ”What do you mean?”

Heavenly Eye was the one who answered. She said, ”We mean that now that you’re weak, this is a good time to bully you. So we need to decide how exactly we will go about bullying and taking advantage of your weakness.”

Her words amused Martial Will so much he laughed and said, ”That’s exactly right. You said it better than I ever could.”

Tepid Scholar gazed down at the Blessed Heaven World and said, ”It is just right that we go to war. The outcome of that fight has already begun to reshape the Blessed Heaven World. So it is just right that we help the Blessed Heaven World finish its changes and even spread the impact of your weakness across the whole Sea of Worlds.”

Without being asked, Green Fire said, ”I’m in.”

Immovable Mountain also said to Tepid Scholar, ”Now that you’ve become the strongest force in the Blessed Heaven World, victory is assured. How can I not partake in this fist?”

Martial Will asked, ”What about Sword Maestro? Should we add him to the target list?”

Heavenly Eye replied with a chuckle, ”Of course. If we don’t add someone as weak as him, who do we target?”

Carefree Immortal said in agreement, ”Tough luck for Sword Maestro. But he is weak now and doesn’t deserve to control so many resources in the Sea of Worlds.”

”If he gives up what he should give up, we will leave him alone. If he refuses and decides to be stubborn, then he will have to show us why he deserves to be stubborn. It is as simple as that.”

Carefree Immortal and the other Dao Lords spoke up one after the other about participating in the war. They all spoke up in agreement about it and did so quickly as if fearing that they might miss the opportunity to take part in the action.

There was only one person who wasn’t in favor of the war. Black Chains spoke at length about how it was a bad idea to go to war when they were planning to help the Blessed Heaven World ascend.

He said, ”The war could damage and weaken the Blessed Heaven World. That will reduce its chances of ascending. If the Blessed Heaven World fails, we will lose too much.”

”Besides, there is still the matter of the dragon. What if it participates in the war? The war will escalate if the dragon gets involved. So it is better to wait for the dragon and the Blessed Heaven World to ascend before we risk a war.”

Tepid Scholar replied, saying, ”I don’t care about the dragon. As long as we give him some benefits, he will work for us. So I don’t consider him a threat.”

”However, you may have a point about the ascension of the Blessed Heaven World and how our war could affect its chances. The Blessed Heaven World has already been damaged by our recent fight. I don’t think it is a good idea to subject it to more destruction.”

When Black Chain heard this, he sighed in relief before saying, ”I knew you could see the greater good when it counted.”

But Tepid Scholar didn’t appreciate this compliment at all. In fact, the Dao Lord of the Myriad Phenomenon Sect was thinking intensely about how to declare the war.

Tepid Scholar’s face was cold as he thought, ’If the Blessed Heaven World is lost, then the chances of getting a Divine Spark and a Divine Tower will fall by half. So the Blessed Heaven World can’t be lost. But I don’t want to give up on the war.’

’Black Chains is weak now with only three pathways in the Blessed Heaven World, so the portion of world power that he can mobilize in the Blessed Heaven World has been reduced. Plus, he no longer has his Cosmic Dao and can’t bully anyone with it.’
