THE GOD EATER

Golden Sun’s face fell when he heard what Loki said about how he became like this even though he was a good planner. Black Chains, who was beside them, immediately began laughing.

As he laughed, he said, ”He was taken down with sex.”

”The fool got too confident in his luck and didn’t think anyone could take him down. He also loved to have sex with women, so we sent the Harem King after him.”

The monkey’s laughter reached a new high as he said, ”The funniest part is that he knew that she was sent to kill him. He knew the danger, but she was too beautiful, and he was too lustful.”

”He was also proud and overconfident. So instead of getting rid of her, he succumbed to his lust. Look at where that has led him now?”

Having exposed his unsavory past, Golden Sun’s anger began to rise within him. In his anger, he sneered and asked, ”And where is Harem King now? I don’t see her anywhere up there. Is she dead?”

But Black Chains only laughed and said, ”Oh, she is dead. But she, using her Dual Cultivation Pathway, a Major Dao, was able to take down a high and mighty Cosmic Dao. That’s a grand achievement if there ever was one.”

Golden Sun turned to Loki and said, ”Just like my brother, i became full of myself and let my power go to my head. That is all”

Then he changed the subject, ”Forget about my past. Let’s talk about what you asked me earlier.”

Without waiting for Loki’s opinion on his attempt to change the subject, he said, ”The Sea of Worlds is a Domain. A Domain is a region of space in the universe with clear boundaries from the rest of the universe.”

”In the universe, a domain is called a gravastar. Gravastars are similar to black holes. Anyway, don’t worry about these things. If you have the chance to enter the universe, you’ll learn more about gravastars and black holes.”

”Back to the point. What does it mean that we are dying, and why are we dying? I can tell you what it means by dying. As for why we’re dying, I don’t know.”

A voice came from above saying, ”I know why we’re dying.”

The voice came from Tepid Scholar. After speaking, everyone turned to look at him, both Loki and the Dao Lords.

With a tone full of suspicion, Martial Will asked Tepid Scholar, ”What are you doing? Do you want to help the dragon?”

Tepid Scholar chuckled with mirth, saying, ”I like to teach and enlighten the ignorant. Plus, I want to give the dragon a good impression of me so that he can give me the Forging Pathway.”

His words enlightened everyone, all except Martial Will. In fact, the Dao Lord of the Martial Body had only become more confused.

In a secret message, Martial Will said to Tepid Scholar, ”What are you doing now? I thought you said we should keep an eye on the dragon and make a move on him once the River of Time appears? Why do you want to make a good impression?”

Rolling his eyes, Tepid Scholar replied, ”I want to make a good impression because I want to lull him into a false sense of safety. Plus, I really want the Forging Pathway.”

”I don’t care if he can reverse time and might erase the time I got the Forging Pathway. Let me get the Forging Pathway first. Then I’ll take things from there.”

”If I can stop him from reversing time, I will gain the Forging Pathway. If I fail to stop him, then I would have lost nothing because none of this happened. Plus, maybe I can stop his attempt to reverse time by holding onto the Forging Pathway and refusing to let it go.”

”Ah. I see,” said Martial Will in enlightenment.

But then he shook his head and said, ”It is convoluted for my liking. Plus, I don’t think it will work.”

Seething with anger, Tepid Scholar asked in disdain, ”What do you know about convoluted plans for you to decide that this one won’t work? Who died and made you judge of plans?”

Without taking the insult lying down, Martial Will rebutted with an equal amount of disdain, saying, ”I know that you don’t have the power for your plan to succeed. He has a Cosmic Dao. You have a Grand Dao. He is also currently in the Sea of Worlds, while you’re here and there is a large dimensional divide between the Sea of Worlds and the third heaven, so the bulk of your power can’t pass through to affect him. What makes you think you can stop him from reversing time?”

Instead of getting angry, Tepid Scholar smiled and said mysteriously, ”You’ll see.”

While the two of them were having their secret conversation, Tepid Scholar also had time to say to Golden Sun and Loki, ”Don’t mind me. Carry on. When you’re done with your part of the explanation, I’ll tell you why the Sea of Worlds is dying.”

Hearing this, Golden Sun stopped looking up. He turned his attention to look down at Loki again and said, ”Anyway, the Sea of Worlds is dying because we lack a special kind of energy for making new worlds.”

”Because of the absence of that special energy, the Sea of Worlds can’t make new worlds. Plus, divine beings are always consuming worlds for lifespan, so the number of worlds in the Sea of Worlds had been dwindling over time.”

”It is estimated that once the number of worlds in the Sea of Worlds reaches a critical insufficient level, the Sea of Worlds will collapse and everything in it will be crushed. At that time, even Dao Lords might not escape unscathed.”

The voice came from the sky, saying, ”You’re wrong. If the Sea of Worlds collapses, we will definitely die. Every Dao Lord will die. No one will escape from it.”
