THE GOD EATER

When Greg heard her order, he immediately went into the communication channel to rally everyone to battle. He was in charge of five cities and was the captain of more than 300 rank 3 cultivators, but not a single one was willing to go with him.

If not for the fact that Amelia had used her authority to create the order, and Greg was only acting on her order, no one would follow him into battle. This was how bad faith was in him.

Since it was an order from the sect sanctioned by the commander, some people were willing to obey the order. For those who didn’t want to obey the order, they had to pay a fine that was equivalent to the value of their life or go on the mission.

But no matter what choice they made or whether they were willing to go or had to go because they didn’t have money, no one wanted to follow Greg to battle. Everyone found their separate means of transportation into battle, and they made sure that at no point did they turn their backs on him.

Loki read all about this in amusement in his room. He had the leisure to be amused because he wasn’t going to battle.

He chose to pay the fine to exempt himself from battle. Since he was a rank 3 cultivator valued at 100,000 energy stones with a Level 3 Dao Status, his fine was raised to 400,000 energy stones.

He paid this fine as he grumbled, saying, “All of these just to avoid Skarg. I hope it is worth it.”

Then he continued to fuse his energy threads.

Meanwhile, the fight between the two sides continued to rage. Both sides fought many rounds, winning and losing at different times. This led to massive casualties on both sides.

After a few months of fighting, the weakness of the Four Directions Sect finally showed. This weakness was that they lacked enough rank 4 cultivators to support their push.

So the Four Directions Sect was eventually pushed back and had to give up their claims to the city that they had taken. Of course, they torched the cities and killed everyone before they left, so the campaign wasn’t a complete failure.

However, this smidgen of success didn’t appease Amelia at all. She believed that they would have been able to do more if Greg hadn’t been selfish and caused them to delay their advance.

Greg’s destruction of that city instead of informing her had caused the warriors to become alert and respond earlier than they should. Not only that, but the destruction of the city also angered the warriors, so the Martial Body Sect was willing to send more people to prevent something like that from happening again.

All of these made her blame Greg for their failure. She truly wanted to kill him and tear him apart with her bare hands. Unfortunately, she couldn’t do so because she hadn’t found a replacement for him yet.

In fact, all of the casualties in the brief campaign meant that she was lacking manpower more than ever before. So she couldn’t kill Greg for now.

This made Greg sigh in relief. He was glad that he had survived, but he decided not to anger Amelia anymore. So he decided to lie low for the near future.

Greg’s determination not to cause more trouble and the absence of fighting with the Martial Body Sect allowed Loki to enjoy months of peace. But things weren’t so peaceful outside the small world.

In Crystal City, the restrictions on the city had been lifted after five months of searching for Slav. The five rank 5 cultivators had finally left to look for Slav.

There were five rank 5 cultivators looking for Slav this time around because the news of the appearance of a Divine Metac spread wider than before. This was all because of Muni’s death.

When Muni was alive, the news didn’t break out quickly because Muni tried to delay it as much as possible so as to avoid trouble. But Muni was killed and had to be replaced by someone else. This substitute immediately told people about the appearance of the Divine Metac as soon as she found out about it.

The substitute thought that Muni had died because of the Divine Metac. After all, he had died on the same day that the Divine Metac appeared.

In fact, he had died just hours after the appearance of the Divine Metac. So she thought that someone killed him to silence him. In order to preserve her life, she reported the news to the sect as soon as she found out about it.

In fact, she told everyone that she had come across it. That way, it will become impossible to keep the news from spreading by killing only her.

This led to five divine beings hearing about the Divine Metac, so five rank 5 cultivators were sent to search for the Divine Metac. The competition between these five was also more intense than between the previous three, which delayed them.

The five of them tried to sabotage each other or refused to use all of their tools to search because they didn’t want the others to take advantage of them. This is what caused the lockdown of the city to continue for two months longer than usual.

After five months of delay, Skarg was finally able to go looking for Loki. Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t the only one looking for Loki this time around either.

Everyone had heard about the appearance of a powerful cultivator during the awakening and was looking for this person. They didn’t know who the reincarnation was, but they were hell-bent on finding out.

The only advantage that Skarg had in this search was that he was able to identify the powerful cultivator that appeared. He recognized Loki as soon as he saw the images that were drawn from the reports of the recruits who witnessed the event.
