THE GOD EATER

Many people thought that he was out of his mind for saying the things that he said. They hated him for it because he sounded like Greg.

But many people were also beginning to believe that he killed those two rank 4 giants at the same time, as unbelievable as it sounded. This was because he spoke like someone who was certain of their strength.

One of the people who was inclined to believe the absurd claim asked Loki, saying, “If you were so powerful, why didn’t you kill Greg yourself?”

He didn’t kill Greg because he wasn’t willing to go all out. But he didn’t say it outright like this to them.

What he said was, “Are you asking me why I didn’t try to kill a rank 3 cultivator of my sect with a Level 4 Dao Status, a grade 4 rank in the army, and a life insurance of Level 4?”

When he put the question that way, and they thought about how much money he would have needed to pay to the sect if he had killed Greg, their scalp tingled with understanding.

Without having to say it, they understood that he hadn’t killed Greg because he wasn’t willing to pay the price. They also understood that the two giants had only died because they were not members of the Four Directions Sect.

But even when they understood this, many of them still didn’t want to believe it. This was because for them to accept this as a fact, they must also accept that a rank 3 cultivator was stronger than them.

To be fair, they didn’t want to accept any of them, even if the two were mutually exclusive, and they could only believe one of them. So having two things that they didn’t want to believe was a lot more difficult for them to handle.

But Loki didn’t care anymore. He tuned them out and went back to fusing energy threads. Nothing they said could make him reply to them.

He was silent, but the world wasn’t silent around him. News of what he had done quickly spread across the battlefield to both sides of the conflict. Both the warriors and the people of the Four Directions Sect were afraid of him.

In less than a week, the story of his fight had been exaggerated to him fighting and killing four rank 4 giants at the same time. This was mostly a bad thing, as it made the people who had been tasked to search for him easily find him. But the spreading of his feat also did him a lot of good.

For instance, immediately after Loki spoke about why he hadn’t killed Greg, many people had begun to take him seriously, even if they didn’t believe his claims. These people began searching for information about him, and they often go to the stock market first to search for his portfolio.

At any other time, they might have balked at the fact that Loki’s portfolio was trading like the portfolio of a talented rank 4 cultivator. But this time, they didn’t mind the high value of his shares and even sought to earn from it by investing in his future.

Ivory was the first one to do this. As a money cultivator, it is always his first instinct to jump at any opportunity to earn money. So he quickly bought the shares that were available.

He had been the first one to buy Loki’s shares as soon as Loki became captain. So this wouldn’t be the first time he was doing something like this to Loki. The difference this time was that he was going all out.

His greedy behavior stirred the waters and made the people who came later rush to grab whatever they could. This caused the shares to become scarce, so their value skyrocketed.

As the story of his fight spread and became more absurd with each retelling, the value of his shares increased. In just one week, the value of his shares increased from 56 energy stones to 132 energy stones per share. This has put the total value of his portfolio at 132 million.

When Loki saw this, even he clicked his tongue in disapproval and said, “This is too much. At this rate, people will mistake me for a rank 5 being.”

Then he said, “Then again, I am supposed to be the full reincarnation of a rank 5 cultivator, so this is just fitting.”

He wasn’t really dissatisfied with this outcome. But he felt that it was a little bit too much.

He was sure that something like this would attract unwanted attention. He was particularly worried about attracting the attention of rank 5 forgers.

However, there was nothing he could do about it at this time, so he put any worry out of his mind and focused on increasing his strength. Besides, he was ready to die when he exposed his Life Ability in his bid to earn merit points.

He didn’t know that he had attracted a lot more unwanted attention than he expected. If he knew, he would know that many people had congregated around him and were contemplating how they would force him out of the small world.

These people had been sent by the powerful rank 4 cultivators outside the small world, including Skarg, to compel him to leave the small world.

When they first found out about Loki, they didn’t believe the story that he had killed four rank 4 giants as a rank 3 cultivator. They had scoffed when they heard this. Then they performed a deep investigation into the claim, only to discover that Loki had actually killed two rank 4 giants, not four of them.

But even this was still unbelievable. But no matter how unbelievable it was, they had to believe it when Loki held an auction for the corpses of the two giants.

They had to believe that he was hiding his strength and wasn’t really a rank 3 cultivator.
