THE GOD EATER

He sneered at them and said, “You think you can handicap me by dividing my attention? Dream on!”

He chose to ignore the giant that was moving like a grasshopper on steroids and focus on the more bull-like giant. This was because even if he focused on the fast-moving giant, it would be more difficult to hit her because of her speed.

The slow-moving giant, on the other hand, was a slow-moving target that he could bully with his guns. The best part was that this slow giant was coming at him in a straight line, so hitting her was as easy as shooting a rat in a barrel.

As he rained metallic death on her, he made sure to insult her and make a jest of her. His infuriating words made her continue trying to reach him in the shortest way possible, which is by taking the most direct route to him.

Instead of taking a detour that would make it more difficult for him to shoot her and make it easier for her to avoid the shrapnel, she gritted her teeth against the pain and continued to brave the storm.

This made Loki smirk and say to himself, “What a fool. No wonder they are called single-minded idiots.”

Unfortunately for him, the good times couldn’t continue forever. By ignoring the other fast giant, he had made it easy for her to use her full speed to advance on his position.

She was able to reach him while his flank was unguarded. Or so she thought.

When she jumped up and rushed at him with her spear cocked to impale him, two rail guns suddenly formed on his shoulders and blasted armor-piercing rounds at her.

She was in the air, and she didn’t expect this form of attack, so she was caught off guard. She was still able to respond, though. This was because she was naturally fast and because she could fly.

She tried stepping to the side to avoid the bullet, but it was too fast, and she was too close to dodge. So she had to use her spear to knock the bullet aside.

She twirled her spear and used it to knock the first bullet away. Then she knocked the second one away. But the third one struck her shoulder.

The power of the bullet was 3(Dao Status) × 3(Telekinesis) × (3(Mind) + 450%(Energy Well)) × (5(Life Ability) + 4(Energy Amplifier) + 4(Force Lever) + 4(Living Armament)) × (250% Skill), which was 2,868.75.

On the other hand, the power of the giant was 3(Status) × 4(Giant Bones) × (5 Body + 65% Energy Well) × (4 Elephant Strength + 4 Crocodile Strength + 4 Tiger Strength + 4 Rhino Strength) × (350% Overdrive + 65% Energy Nexus), which is 4,501 units.

She is more skilled than the first rank 4 giant that he fought, but she is still weaker than that first giant because her Life Ability is the Speed Amplification Life Ability, which increases her speed, while the Life Ability of that first giant was the Strength Amplification Life Ability.

This arrangement of her Metacs makes her faster than she is stronger. Despite this weakness, an attack with a power of 2,868.75 units is not nearly enough to overwhelm her.

The best that the bullet could do was pierce the flesh of her shoulder and smash into her bones. After hitting her bone, the bullet was flattened, but it still spun around and damaged the connecting tissues of her joint.

The hit to her shoulder destabilized her and made it difficult for her to respond to the rest of the attacks. So more bullets scored a hit on her body, dealing more damage to her.

The hail of bullets discouraged her from continuing her rush towards him. Instead, she dropped down to the ground to wait for her partner to catch up. That way, the two of them would gang up on him.

But she wasn’t willing to wait idly nearby, though. She wanted to throw something at him, but the only thing she had in her hand was her spear. She didn’t want to throw her spear at him, so she looked around for something else to throw.

Her search led her to see the scattered harpoons around them. These had all been shot by the balistae on the city walls. After many days of fighting, the area around was full of spent ammunition, like the harpoons.

She focused on the closest harpoon that she could find and went over to it to grab it. Then she hurled the harpoon at him with a grunt of exertion.

She threw the harpoon with her full strength of 4,501 units, so when it left her hand and took to the air, it did so at blinding speed. The harpoon was shot forward with more power than the original balistae could produce, so it was much faster than any harpoon that the balistae could shoot.

The harpoon quickly reached him in less than a second, and even though he had been paying attention to the person who threw it, he was still caught off guard by the attack.

However, when the harpoon struck him, it did nothing to him. The harpoon simply came into contact with his back before it fell limply to the ground.

As for him, there was only a slight ripple on the surface of his armor. This was because he was using the Reversal Metac and his power output was 3(Dao Status) × (3(Telekinesis Metac) + 3(Reversal Metac)) × (4(Body) + 3(Mind) + 5(Life Ability) + 450% Energy Well) × (4(Body Lever) + 4(Living Armament) + 4(Energy Amplifier) +4(Force Lever)) × (250% Overdrive), which is 11,880 units.

With this kind of power, even twice as much power as she had used would not be able to harm him. So instead of harming him, her power of 4,501 units was added to his power of 11,880 units to make a power of 16,381 units.
