The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Seeing Jiang An standing there straight and tall, his words filled with sincerity and strength, each statement was profoundly infectious, Director Liu couldn’t help but nod in response.

Although his rank was much higher than Jiang An’s, the spirit and purity emanating from this young man made him genuinely appreciate and admire him.

After a slight pause, he gently patted Jiang An’s arm and said with a warm yet firm tone, ”Young man, you’re truly admirable!”

”I believe that if more young people with your drive and sense of duty join the provincial criminal investigation line, the morale of the entire team would be completely different, and the efficiency of solving cases would reach new heights—ultimately, behind all this is the advancement of the people’s sense of security and happiness.”

Director Liu paused slightly and turned to the side to speak to General Director Yang, continuing, ”By the way, isn’t the provincial ’Top Ten Police Officers’ selection about to start again this year?”

”I think comrades like Jiang An, with outstanding performance, should absolutely be recommended as candidates.”

As these words were spoken, General Director Yang and Director Hou almost simultaneously froze, instinctively exchanging a glance, their expressions revealing undeniable surprise.

The provincial ’Top Ten Police Officers’—it’s not an ordinary honor.

Just now, Director Liu clearly said ’Top Ten Police Officers,’ rather than limiting it to ’Top Ten Criminal Police Officers.’

If it’s only within the criminal investigation system, with Jiang An’s performances in cracking major cases in recent years, his selection is still plausible;

But once the competition extends to the entire province’s police units for ’Top Ten Police Officers,’ the difficulty becomes incomparable.

This is not just a cross-field contest, but it also means facing competition from many outstanding representatives from security, traffic, community, and several other fronts.

General Director Yang’s eyes moved slightly, and a series of considerations swiftly crossed his mind: Is Director Liu’s suggestion rooted in special recognition of Jiang An, or is there a deeper implication?

And standing to the side, Director Hou had also unconsciously fallen into contemplation.

It’s important to know that in the public security system, criminal investigation is just one of many important functions.

Besides this, there is the extensive coverage of major security management, professional depth in economic investigation work, the special mission of the national security front, the closest connection to the masses through police station duties, and the drug prohibition struggle that constantly walks on the razor’s edge, among others.

These departments together form a vast and organic whole, with each position quietly contributing to social stability and the safety of the people.

Especially the police on the frontline of drug prohibition, often facing real guns and life-and-death tests, each action can be described as moving towards danger with relentless commitment, their courage and responsibility elicit sincere admiration.

The number of public security officers throughout the province exceeds fifty thousand, and only ten ’Top Ten Police Officers’ are selected every three years within such an elite team, making the competition fiercely intense and the standards exceedingly strict, far beyond what the average person can aspire to. It’s not just a test of professional ability, but a comprehensive comparison of loyalty, dedication, and actual achievements.

A wave of astonishment swept through his heart, and General Director Yang quickly confirmed, ”Director Liu, you said ’Top Ten Police Officers’ of the province, not ’Top Ten Criminal Police Officers,’ right?”

He couldn’t quite believe it and couldn’t help but ask again.

Director Liu heard this and smiled slightly, answering affirmatively, ”That’s right, it is ’Top Ten Police Officers’.”

”If it’s only the ’Top Ten Criminal Police Officers’ of the province, with the performance and strength of Comrade Jiang An, selection is almost guaranteed.”

”Indeed, that’s true!”

General Director Yang quickly nodded in agreement, ”Director Liu, you are absolutely right. The honor of ’Top Ten Police Officers’ is even harder to attain than getting into Peking University or Qinghua, truly remarkable!”

After saying that, he looked encouragingly at Jiang An beside him, saying, ”Brother Jiang An, Director Liu is placing high hopes on you!”

”Let’s together wish you success in the selection this year and look forward to good news!”

At this moment, Jiang An’s heart couldn’t help but tremble.

Having honed his skills in the criminal police unit for many years, he clearly understands that the provincial ’Top Ten Police Officers’ selection event only takes place once every three years, its authority and honor are self-evident.

Especially since this selection follows a top-down, all-encompassing approach, covering every police unit from the provincial office to grassroots police stations, the competitiveness and comprehensiveness of the standards are unprecedented.

To stand out in this high-level contest is undoubtedly an esteemed pursuit in every public security officer’s career.

Engulfed in joy, Director Liu suddenly smiled, speaking warmly yet seriously, ”Haha, but Jiang An, I must remind you—while I’ve set this big goal, you cannot slack off because of it.”

”Even if the prospects seem good, you still need to maintain that drive to strive for greater achievements and earn higher honors.”

”You know, the ’Top Ten’ is not just an aura, but also a considerable responsibility.”

”It represents organizational trust, public expectations, and implies that all your actions will receive more attention and scrutiny in the future.”

”Hence, being selected as one of the provincial top ten is merely a minor stage goal, but also a brand new starting point. The road ahead is long, and you must keep moving forward steadily.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang An immediately responded earnestly, ”Yes! Director Liu, I will definitely keep your advice and teachings in mind.”

”Going forward, I will certainly be cautious and humble, always stay true to my beginnings, tread solidly, and advance continuously down the criminal investigation path, never failing to meet your expectations!”
