Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1125: Chapter 1125: Preparing to Catch Ghosts

”Even if you let him into the vegetable garden, you can’t let him monitor the loading and shipping process. Didn’t I say before that only trustworthy people should follow to deliver the goods and collect the payment?” An Hao said.

”Yeah! But An Ping, Liu Xiaoliang, and Erzhuzi have all gone to your place, so I can’t find anyone else, right?”

”No wonder!” An Hao murmured to herself and turned her head sharply, glaring at An Ping.

An Ping naturally understood what that meant.

If it hadn’t been for the fact that he had been caught by the anti-pornography and illegal activities unit and taken to the police station for a class, he wouldn’t have been unable to return for a whole week.

And the family wouldn’t have had trouble finding someone to make deliveries.

”Sis, don’t be mad! It’s already like this, being angry won’t help! It will just upset you. We just need to figure out the reason now,” An Ping said with a smile, trying to soothe her with kind words.

”Forget it. Let’s not dwell on the past,” An Hao said, ”You’re right, we need to find the reason, to see where exactly the problem lies.”

”You don’t think there could be a problem with the army, do you?”

”Couldn’t be, right?” An Hao looked at An Ping and asked, ”You also saw the vegetables when we went to the army base, didn’t you? What were they like?”

”Yeah, they really were much worse than ours. Surely the army wouldn’t lie and deceive us, right?” An Ping wondered.

”Of course not.” An Hao was very certain, ”Our vegetables are delivered directly to them, which means they eat whatever we deliver. Besides, what kind of place is an army base? With such strict management, who dares to tamper with the food of the entire soldier company? Only if they’re tired of living!”

”So you mean, the problem still lies within us?” An Ping asked.

”Yes.” An Hao nodded emphatically, ”You’re absolutely right, and it’s happening during transportation.”

”Shall we go ask tomorrow?” An Ping suggested.

”Don’t ask. To avoid alerting the snake by hitting the grass,” An Hao’s gaze shifted to An Shuchao, ”Dad, you haven’t talked about this matter with anyone in the vegetable garden, have you?”

An Shuchao shook his head again and again, very certain as he said, ”Not a word. Absolutely not.”

Since the incident happened, he had been feeling very oppressed.

His son left in a flurry, and he figured the issue must be quite serious.

Many people in the village were envious of their booming business and would love to see them stumble.

An Shuchao didn’t want to give those people any cause for laughter; he was also someone who cared greatly about face.

So, he had been in a bad mood all day long, and no matter how many people asked him, he never revealed a word about the incident.

”That’s good.” As An Hao spoke reassuringly, her mind was already making calculations, ”We’ll proceed with loading and shipping as usual tomorrow, and then we’ll start our ghost hunt.”

The next day.

An Hao went to the vegetable garden with her father and brother.

The weather was gradually warming up.

During the morning, when the temperature rose, the staff working in the vegetable fields would open up the greenhouses to let the vegetables inside get some sunlight.

Standing at the edge of the field, An Hao saw the tens of acres of vegetables, lush and green, swaying in the wind, showing a very pleasant growth.

An Hao’s mood improved as well.

Such a fine vegetable garden, and to think someone, with such a cruel heart, wanted to destroy it.

As An Hao pondered, she suddenly heard a familiar voice behind her.

She turned around and saw that it was Li Junping and Qin Fen.

”Mom! Pick some of these tomatoes, and you can make a few different dishes with them!” Qin Fen said to Li Junping, pointing at the freshly grown tomatoes.
