Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1119: Chapter 1119: Face-to-Face Questioning

”That’s a great relief.” Ma Mei also breathed a sigh of relief for him.

There was no happier person than Ruan Fangfang, as her uncle’s promotion was like the big tree growing stronger.

In the future, it could offer her more shade.

So she was extremely happy.

Qin Jian returned with the samples, just as An Ping, Wang Erzhu, and Liu Xiaolian were all there.

An Hao was discussing this matter with An Ping.

Seeing Qin Jian return with a solemn expression, An Ping stood up and quickly asked, ”Brother-in-law, what exactly is the situation here?”

Qin Jian set the vegetables he had taken from the military’s kitchen in front of An Ping and the others, ”Take a look! These are the vegetables that were just purchased by the army yesterday! The quality of the produce is so poor.”

Seeing the condition of the vegetables, An Ping and Wang Erzhu exchanged looks.

Indeed, the produce was terrible and didn’t look like it was from their own garden at all.

”An Ping, are you really delivering these kinds of vegetables to the army?” An Hao became furious the moment she saw the vegetables, ”You are sabotaging your brother-in-law and our family’s business.”

In her additional lifetime, she had witnessed countless companies go bankrupt and close down because of a minor mistake or a moment of greed, chasing profits while sacrificing product quality and breaking promises to the public.

Since they were in business, she had learned from the lessons of others, and she definitely couldn’t allow such an incident to ruin the business that they had worked so hard to build.

”Sister, the produce I previously delivered to the army was all personally checked by me, especially since I knew it was business introduced by brother-in-law and Uncle Ning. That’s why I was extra careful,” An Ping defended himself.

”Then tell me what’s going on here? How could such poor quality produce turn up?” The facts were right in front of them, and there was no point in making excuses.

”Has something like this happened before? Brother-in-law,” An Ping’s gaze turned to Qin Jian.

”It seems to be in recent times.”

”Erzhu, who is in charge of distributing the vegetables now?” If they were going to investigate, they needed to be clear on the details.

”Song Fei?” Erzhuzi replied, ”I saw him work very honestly. The last time I saw him picking and sorting the vegetables, he was very diligent. How could this have happened?”

”I suggest you go home now and immediately find out what happened. Then you need to select another shipment of good produce and send it to the army straight away,” An Hao insisted without allowing room for debate.

Although there had been an incident, whatever the cause of the problem, their vegetables had now proven to be substandard.

If they were not up to standard, then they should be replaced with good ones.

The army shouldn’t have to waste their money, and neither should her husband and father-in-law be put in a difficult situation because of it.

”Okay, sister. I’ll listen to you. I’ll go to the station now and buy a ticket home.”

”Good,” An Hao repeatedly reminded him, ”Make sure to pick out the good ones to send!”

That night, An Ping arrived home, and upon seeing his son return, An Shuchao complained, ”What’s the matter with you? You were supposed to stay a couple of days, but you ended up being gone for over ten. Do you have no desire to come back home?”

”Dad, let’s discuss these matters later. I want to know, who has been supervising the picking and loading of vegetables for the army these past few days?”

”Qin Fen, I guess?” An Shuchao thought about it carefully, and indeed it was him.

”Why did you entrust him with such an important task?” An Ping was seething with frustration.

A perfectly fine situation had now implicated his sister and brother-in-law.

It might even jeopardize his brother-in-law’s promotion and if that happened, he would be too ashamed to face him again.
