Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 537: Chapter 537 Huge Loss of Face

”Chief of Staff Qin! Is this your wife?” Commander Lin looked An Hao up and down, unable to hold back his words, ”At first glance, we thought she was a star who walked right off the TV screen! Qin Jian, you’re really fortunate!”

An Hao couldn’t distinguish ranks, so she could only smile and thank everyone generally: ”You’re all too kind!”

Just as Qin Jian was about to seize the opportunity to make introductions, Feng Chunhua, who had been following behind, suddenly caught sight of her husband, Yang Dahe, and immediately became overjoyed.

She pulled Yang Erxiu and raised her voice as she shouted, ”Yang Dahe! I’ve brought your son to see you!”

This sudden outburst stunned everyone!

The change in scene was too abrupt; they had just been looking at a heavenly beauty, and now they were faced with a plain Jane.

Especially Yang Dahe, who looked utterly shocked. Seeing his wife show up unannounced, without even a greeting, frightened him so much that he dared not even breathe for quite a while.

”Have you gone dumb? Didn’t you see I’ve come?” When Feng Chunhua saw Yang Dahe like this, she was not only unhappy but also surprised, and her anger flared up immediately.

She was sure that it was because he had just laid eyes on these two little fox spirits that he was reacting this way.

”Is this your family member?” Commander Lin, witnessing this scene, suddenly understood why Yang Dahe had refused to let his wife visit all these years.

She was, to be honest, hard to describe: dark and plump, with a waist thicker than a bucket, a loud voice, and carrying countless bags and parcels. At first glance, one might think she wasn’t here for a family visit but rather fleeing disaster.

”Yes, yes!” Yang Dahe truly felt embarrassed and quickly started walking her to the side.

”Hey, I’m here, and you’re not even introducing me? Aren’t these all your subordinates? Don’t they need to call me ’sister-in-law’ when they see me?” Feng Chunhua felt pretty good about herself and even started smiling and greeting others.

Yang Dahe really felt his entire lifetime of wisdom had been ruined by his wife and didn’t care anymore about the commander, dragging his wife off into the distance.

After they got away from the crowd, he glared at his wife and scolded, ”Why did you come without telling me?”

”What, are you not happy to see me?” Feng Chunhua put her hands on her hips and stared back at him, ”You heartless man. It’s been a year, don’t you ever think to come back and have a look? Take a good look, do you even recognize your son? Does your son recognize his father?”

Upon seeing his son, Yang Dahe took a deep breath: ”Come on, come on! Follow me, let’s find a place for you to bathe first!”

On this end, after Qin Jian had exchanged greetings with everyone, he took An Hao and Gu Shuangshuang upstairs.

There was temporarily no accommodation for family members in the family quarters building, so they were to stay in Qin Jian’s quarters for the time being.

After settling An Hao in, Qin Jian made a phone call to the battalion office and found out that Tian Niu was out training with the troops and would not return that day. He was expected back the following day.

So, they quickly found a temporary place to stay in the same building for Gu Shuangshuang, to make do for the night, planning to send her to find Tian Niu the next day.

That evening, Commander Lin prepared a welcome party for the military wives, and that’s when An Hao discovered that, aside from them, other military wives had also come.

During the meal, An Hao chatted with them, and her first impression was not bad.

Of course, except for the unpleasant Feng Chunhua.

After a whole day of busyness, it was finally time to rest.

Just as An Hao was about to take off her shoes and get into bed, Qin Jian wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered in her ear, ”Wife, what did you promise me? Do you still remember?”
