Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 638: Borrow A Building

”Shall we talk in the capital?”

”Please wait a minute.”

Zhang Fei [5] opened a portal to the training space, shocking Xian Lianghua and Xue Jingling. Zefyr immediately emerged from within and sat on his shoulder.

”Wow! You finally brought me to this kingdom, Fei.” Zefyr gazed at the beauty beneath them, oblivious to the presence of Xian Lianghua and Xue Jingling. ”Hehehe! Is my grandfather really in this kingdom?”

”Yes, Grandpa Oliver and the others are currently in the capital, which is why I brought you here.” Zhang Fei [5] then poked the wind fairy. ”They are the Emperor and Empress of this kingdom.”

”Oh!” Zefyr immediately stood on Zhang Fei [5]ʼs shoulder and bowed slightly to the two. ”Please forgive me; I was too preoccupied with myself, especially since Iʼve been training for several whole months.”

”Haha.” Xian Lianghua laughed, listening to her. ”I didnʼt expect a fairy like you to make a contract with him, and it must be because of the prophecy about the return of the ten-tailed fox, right?”

Zefyr vigorously nodded. ”Fei is the next ten-tailed fox, and he was still weak at that time, so I made a contract with him to protect him. However, he has become stronger than me, and I need his protection now.”

”Youʼre right.” Xian Lianghua gave a light nod. ”Shall we go now?”

Since the natural races never liked humans, Zhang Fei [5] decided to transform into his half-fox form. ”Letʼs go now.”

Both notifications immediately appeared as soon as they arrived at the capital of the Natural Racesʼ Kingdom. Zefyr immediately floated around the surrounding area, looking at every area of the city, especially the shops. ”Where are my grandpa and the others?”

”They live in the house at the end of that area,” Xian Lianghua replied, pointing to the north. ”You can meet them there, and Iʼll send someone to fetch you afterward.”

”I havenʼt seen them for a long time, so Iʼll go meet them first, Fei.” Zefyr immediately flew toward the location Xian Lianghua had just pointed out.

”Wife, you can go back to the palace first and order them to prepare a small banquet.” Xue Jingling immediately left without saying anything to Zhang Fei [5].

Xian Lianghua then guided Zhang Fei [5] to inspect several strategically located buildings, but he showed no interest in them. Instead, a three-story building located slightly away from the bustling city piqued his interest. ”Are you interested in that building?”

”Yes.” Zhang Fei [5] nodded to Xian Lianghua. ”There are too many people queuing at my restaurant in the Xian Capital, and their presence has caused the road in front to become crowded. Thus, I am more interested in that building because the area is not too crowded, and the front of the building is also quite spacious. In addition, I will open a restaurant and shop in the same building, making it ideal for both. How much is that building worth?”

”That building has no price.” Zhang Fei [5] turned to Xian Lianghua in confusion. ”Unlike those human kingdoms, any member of our races is free to use all the buildings in my kingdom. We are natural races, and nature is our best friend. All kinds of resources we need are available on this island, and their numbers almost never decreased despite our large number. If we need other resources that are not here, we will send some of our members to look for other islands, so we donʼt really need money or anything like that.”

Zhang Fei [5] fell into thought after hearing that. ”How will they pay me if I open my shop and restaurant?”

”That depends on you.” Xian Lianghuaʼs answer confused Zhang Fei [5]. ”Even though we donʼt need money, we still have large reserves of gold and other things, including jewels in various colors. People in my kingdom usually use herbs or other treasures to transact with others, but you can set up payments in your shop and restaurant accordingly. Regarding their prices, you can observe the activities of our residents to understand them better. If you need gold and jewels more, you can ask them to pay with one of them. However, I heard that you and your wife are alchemists, so herbs and such natural resources should be more valuable for both of you, right?”

Zhang Fei [5] agreed with that. ”Even though I have two special places to look for herbs and similar items, I believe it wouldnʼt hurt to get more of them from your kingdomʼs residents. As for gold and jewels, I will open another branch of my shop and restaurant in the Yun Kingdom soon, so I wonʼt have to worry too much about those two.”

”Thatʼs good.” Xian Lianghua then took out a beast parchment from his storage ring and handed it to Zhang Fei [5]. ”Keep this thing with you while you use the building, but you must return it to me if you want to relocate your shop and restaurant.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei [5] immediately received the beast parchment and stored it. ”I still need to plan a few things for my shop and restaurant in this kingdom, and I need to prepare all the items for both of them, so I plan to open them in a week or two.”

”You can arrange it yourself.” Xian Lianghua then led Zhang Fei to the palace.

”Zhang Fei!” Zhang Fei [5] turned toward the voice, and he saw Xi Xianzi flying quickly toward him. She immediately sat on his shoulder. ”Hehehe! I didnʼt expect that we would meet again so soon, and I thought I would still have to wait for some time for you to come here. How long are you going to stay in our kingdom? If you stay long enough, Jinglan and I will take you to the beautiful places here, and you will definitely like them.”

Xian Lianghua faintly smiled as he listened to Xi Xianzi. ʼLittle Xi seems to be interested in Zhang Fei [5], or else she wouldnʼt be this clingy to him.ʼ

”Unfortunately, I canʼt stay here for too long. Iʼve found the right building, so I have to go to prepare items for my shop and restaurant.” Xi Xianzi wore a disappointed face, making Zhang Fei [5] smile in amusement. ”After that, I will stay in this kingdom more often so we can meet more often.”

”Really?” Xi Xianziʼs expression turned joyful again. ”Are you really going to stay in this kingdom often?”

Zhang Fei [5] nodded at her. ”I actually wanted to send some of my human subordinates here, but it is obviously not possible considering the relationship between humans and the natural races. Grandpa Oliver and the others canʼt possibly take care of everything, so Iʼll be staying here most of the time.”

”Yay!” Xi Xianzi cheered with joy. ”In that case, I will take you to enjoy the beauty of this kingdom at that time, and I am confident that you will like this place more than the Xian Kingdom.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [5] laughed at that, and Xi Xianziʼs attitude made him think that she was similar to Xu Lingʼer.

”Letʼs go.” Xian Lianghua said to them, and he also asked someone to pick up Zefyr and the others.

When they arrived at the palace, two women were waiting for them in front. Sensing a strange vibe from him, Aqua the Undine immediately observed Zhang Fei [5] for a while and then asked him. ”Can you visit my underwater city?”

”Eh?” Zhang Fei [5] was surprised by that.

Xian Jinglan then told Zhang Fei [5]. ”Her name is Aqua, and she is the leader of the Undine race in this realm. She lives in an underwater city in the northern ocean, and Yuhe has spent some time there before.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei [5] then asked Aqua. ”Why do you want me to go there, Miss Aqua?”

Aqua shook her head. ”I canʼt explain it to you in detail, but I sense a strange vibe from you, and itʼs similar to the thing hidden in the forbidden area in my underwater city.”

”Forbidden area?” Not only Zhang Fei [5] was surprised by that, but Xian Lianghua was also surprised to hear it.

Aqua immediately explained. ”That thing has been there since my ancestorsʼ era, but no one knows about it, and it keeps emitting something unusual. Since then, they have restricted that place, and no one can go there, including me. However, I feel the same vibe from you, so I think you might be able to approach it.”

[Master, that thing may be related to the ten-tailed fox, so I think you should go to the underwater city to check it, especially since he has a good relationship with the natural races. If it truly relates to him, it will undoubtedly yield significant benefits for you.]

ʼYeah, youʼre right.ʼ Zhang Fei [5] then answered Aqua. ”All right, I will go to your underwater city, but I will go there after I open a branch of my shop and restaurant in this city.”

”No problem.” Aqua replied with a nod. ”In that case, I will stay in this city for a few days, and I will take you to my underwater city once you are ready.”

Xian Lianghua then led them into the palace, where he explained some things to Zhang Fei [5], especially about the rule of his kingdom. Aqua also told him some things about her underwater city, including the forbidden area.

Before long, Zefyr and the natural races from the Sky Jade Realm had also arrived at the palace, and they began the banquet after Xue Jingling finished preparing everything.

After they had slept for more than two days, Shang Baishi and Shang Xiaoyin finally woke up, but their expressions were not good. They couldnʼt recall capturing Zhang Xiaolong [3] and bringing him to the underground cave, as he had purposefully erased their memories. All they could recall was having sex for several hours straight.

”What should we do now, Uncle?” Shang Xiaoyin asked in a weak voice. ”If my mother finds out about our relationship, she will definitely kill you, and I donʼt want to lose you.”

Shang Baishi was naturally aware of that, so he did not answer his niece directly and looked for the best solution for them. ”How about we leave this realm and hide in another? I canʼt think of anything else except for that, and I think thatʼs the best solution for us. My sister might send some people to search for us, but given the vast number of realms in this universe, they wonʼt be able to find us quickly, ensuring our safety for some time. If her people succeed in finding us, we will move to another realm again.”

”All right, we have to leave this realm as soon as possible.” Shang Xiaoyin immediately agreed with that. ”However, I have to talk to Shang Yifen and Shang Jiali first, or they will tell my mother about our relationship.”

”Call them.”

A while later, the two women arrived at their room, and Shang Xiaoyin immediately told them about Shang Baishiʼs plan. Shang Yifen and Shang Jiali were really shocked by this, but they were also relieved, especially since there would be no one to order them around anymore if she left with her uncle.

Shang Baishi then threatened Shang Yifen and Shang Jiali. ”You guys should keep your mouth shut about our relationship, or you both will face the consequences.”

Shang Yifen and Shang Jiali trembled at Shang Baishiʼs killing intent, and both of them nodded their heads repeatedly as cold sweat dripped from their foreheads. ”However, Aunt Ziyuan will definitely find out about this matter sooner or later, and we canʼt lie to her, or she will kill us and our family.”

”If my mother forces you two, simply inform her that you are unaware of our destination.” Shang Xiaoyin then looked at her uncle. ”Letʼs go now, uncle! We canʼt continue wasting time in this realm.”

”Yeah.”

After Shang Xiaoyin packed up her belongings, Shang Baishi immediately used his flying artifact to take her out of the Wasteland Realm, with no one else knowing their destination.

Shang Yingyue, who was with her husband and daughter, naturally noticed Shang Baishi and Shang Xiaoyinʼs departure. However, she no longer cared about them, and she cared more about her family.

Suddenly, Murong Mengying entered Shang Yingyueʼs private room. ”I have obtained some important information, and I would like to invite you two to join me and the others.”

”What kind of information did you obtain?” Shang Yingyue asked.

”Letʼs gather with the others first, and I will share with you all.”

A while later, Shang Yingyue, Wu Xueming, Qiao Liangren, and several others had gathered in another room. Murong Mengying then explained to them about the Sun Tower, but she did not tell them that she obtained the information from Zhang Xiaolong [3]; instead, she used her masterʼs name.

Murong Mengyingʼs explanation left them all stunned. Qiao Liangren asked her. ”Are you sure the Sun Tower is the key to accessing those realms beyond the upper realms?”

”One hundred percent.” Murong Mengying replied with a nod. ”My master has already challenged the tower, and he met some people from those realms, so you donʼt need to doubt his information. However, we canʼt possibly reach those realms with our current strength, and we must first reach the 5-Moon Divine Ascension Realm.”

Once again, they were shocked by it because the strongest among them was Qiao Liangren, whose cultivation was at the 1-Moon Divine Fusion Realm. However, his cultivation was still far from the Divine Ascension Realm, and he still needed thousands of years to reach that stage.

Miao Miao then asked Murong Mengying. ”If we have to reach the 5-Moon Divine Ascension Realm to go to those realms, then thereʼs no point in us going to the Sun Tower now, right?”

”Youʼre wrong about that, Miao.” Murong Mengying replied with a shake of her head. ”The tower gives us a variety of tough challenges, and we can get lots of beneficial rewards from those challenges. Based on my masterʼs explanation, those rewards will be very useful to speed up our cultivation, but we need a large team to be able to pass them. If all that is true, we can break through to the next stages more easily, and it is not impossible for us to reach the Divine Ascension Realm in the future. Thatʼs why I gathered all of you here, and Iʼm confident that we can pass them if we join forces.”

”However, it is impossible for all of us to go to the Blossom Heaven Realm, especially since we have to keep an eye on those scoundrels.” Lai Minhua and the others nodded in agreement with Deng Zhichao.

”Isnʼt that easy?” They turned to Huo Qiubing directly. ”There are still many cultivators of our level in our clans, and we just need to ask one of them to replace us. However, we canʼt tell them all in detail, and we have to ask those who are indeed closely related to us so the information about the tower will not spread to our clans.”

”I agree with Qiubing.” Hao Weizen said with a nod. ”Do you think our numbers are enough to challenge the tower, Mengying? Should we tell the people from the other clans about it?”

Huang Shengyan then spoke. ”We can tell some and invite them to join us, but we must exclude western clans. As for the northern clans, we donʼt need to invite the people from the Wang and Dai Clans.”

”Additionally, we can choose some of our juniors to join us, so our numbers will be greater.” Tao Yuan expressed his idea.

After hearing that, they looked thoughtful, and Shang Yingyue spoke to them. ”That plan is indeed good, but we have to think it through more carefully before we decide, and we must find our replacement first.”

”You guys can think about this matter for a week, and I want your answers by then.” They agreed with Murong Mengying and left the room immediately. ”Hmm? I have to go back to my clan and discuss this with my aunt first.”
