Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 627: Seven Profound Treasures

”I started learning to forge the spirit-grade weapon about ten days ago from an old friend, but I havenʼt managed to forge it to perfection yet.”

Gang Zhishou gazed at Zhang Fei briefly before sharing his thoughts. ”Actually, you shouldnʼt be disappointed with the results, especially considering your rapid progress as a beginner blacksmith. Moreover, this sword is almost perfect, and you only need to modify it a little, such as increasing the sharpness and thickness of the blade. If you can do that, you will successfully forge your first perfect spirit-grade weapon, and you will officially become a spirit-rank blacksmith.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei then stored all the swords before taking out an item that perplexed the Gang Zhishou, particularly because it didnʼt exist in the Nine Stars Realm. ”In one realm, people call it a gun, and we need bullets to use it.”

Zhang Fei, through his fifth clone, deliberately asked Huang Rong to find him the gun, especially since she had access to it.

”Guns and bullets?”

”Actually, I came from another realm, Old Gang.” Gang Zhishou wasnʼt too surprised by that because the dishes in Zhang Feiʼs restaurant were completely different from the dishes in their realm, so he had long suspected that. ”There are no cultivators in my realm, and my transformation into a cultivator was the result of a fortunate encounter. Ordinary people in my realm use this gun as a weapon, and it can easily kill others, but it will be useless against cultivators. Thatʼs why I want to make this kind of weapon, and I want to replace the normal bullets with Qi bullets.”

”Let me see it.” Zhang Fei immediately gave the gun to Gang Zhishou, who immediately scanned it with his senses. ”I donʼt know how people in your home realm could create it, but itʼs really unique. Unfortunately, I donʼt have the ability to create the weapon you want, but my master or fellow disciples may be able to create one.”

”Should we head to Senior Duanʼs place now?”

Gang Zhishou nodded and returned the gun to Zhang Fei. ”My master also wants to see you, so we can go there now. However, it will take us a dayʼs journey to get there, so you should finish your business first.”

”I donʼt have any business, so we can leave now.” Zhang Fei eagerly spoke.

Gang Zhishou promptly led him out of his shop, but Zhang Fei swiftly grabbed his shoulder and used the Nine Cloud Steps to take him away from the capital.

In a matter of minutes, they arrived in front of Duan Zhaoʼs residence, which greatly shocked Zhishou Gang. ”You kid! Your blacksmithing skills, along with your cultivation, body cultivation, and movement speed, are simply astounding! I usually fly here all day, but you have the ability to bring me here this fast.”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Fei laughed at that. ”Old Gang, my movement ability is only a small part of my abilities.”

Gang Zhishou softly sighed as he shook his head. ”The young will always surpass the old, and you have proven that. Sooner or later, you will also surpass me in blacksmithing.”

”Old Gang.” Zhang Fei called out and patted Gang Zhishouʼs shoulder. ”Even if I manage to surpass you in blacksmithing in the future, I will never forget your kindness because you were the one who taught me blacksmithing in the first place.”

”Hahaha!” Gang Zhishou laughed and put his arm around Zhang Feiʼs shoulder, leading him into Duan Zhaoʼs house. ”I certainly did not misjudge your character, Kid. Letʼs go! My master is probably busy in the backyard right now, so he wonʼt notice our arrival.”

When Gang Zhishou and Zhang Fei arrived behind, they found Duan Zhao forging something. Meanwhile, his female disciple, Xian Xian, was watching from the sidelines.

”Oh?” Xian Xian immediately turned to them. ”Is he the boy you mentioned back then?”

”His name is Zhang Fei, and I brought him here because he wants to create a unique weapon.” Gang Zhishou introduced Xian Xian to Zhang Fei. ”Her name is Xian Xian, and she is more active in the Zhou Kingdom.”

”Nice to meet you, Senior Xian.” Xian Xian suddenly moved in front of Zhang Fei and groped all over his body. ʼThis womanʼs grip is really strong!ʼ

Xian Xian nodded repeatedly after she had touched Zhang Feiʼs body. ”You really amaze me, Kid. Usually, a body cultivator needs two to three years to break through from the Skin Refining Stage to the Flesh Tempering Stage, but you can do it in a few months, and your body is much stronger than that of body cultivators at your level.”

”Honestly, I donʼt know the exact measure of my body strength, and I am constantly tempering it using several methods.” Xian Xian suddenly took out a small pillow-like item. ”Is this a tool to measure my strength?”

Xian Xian nodded to him. ”Use all your strength to hit him so I can measure your body strength.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei immediately took a stance, but he didnʼt use his enhanced condition ability or any other strengthening techniques; he directly punched the tool with all his strength.

*Bam*

”Guah!” Zhang Feiʼs single blow sent Xian Xian flying, causing Gang Zhishouʼs jaw to drop. Duan Zhao, who had been concentrating on forging, swiftly shifted his focus to his female disciple, who had already stabilized her body by stomping her feet on the ground. ”What the hell with you, kid? How can your attack power be that heavy? What kind of methods do you use to train? Even Zhishouʼs attack couldnʼt knock me back a step.”

Zhang Fei awkwardly smiled as he rubbed his head. ”I train two body cultivation techniques, and one of them requires lightning tribulations to practice.”

”Lightning tribulations?” Duan Zhao, Xian Xian, and Gang Zhishou were completely shocked by that.

”I experienced four lightning tribulations when I broke through to the 1-Star and 2-Star Earth Realm, and I underwent a hundred more tribulations in the Star Tower.” Even so, Zhang Fei did not explain in detail the effects of his body cultivation techniques.

Duan Zhao, Xian Xian, and Gang Zhishou glared at Zhang Fei in shock. One lightning tribulation was already terrifying, but he actually went through a hundred of them.

”Have you really challenged the Star Tower?” Xian Xian doubtfully asked.

Zhang Fei nodded at her. ”Actually, I went to the Star Tower for the first time with a group from the Xian Imperial Sect two weeks ago, and I managed to pass all the challenges on the first floor. I faced a hundred lightning tribulations in the Sin Challenge, but they paled in comparison to the lightning tribulations I faced when I broke through.”

Zhang Feiʼs answer left Xian Xian speechless, mainly because she needed several tries to complete all the challenges on the first floor, yet he was able to clear them all in just one try, and he completed them in just two weeks.

Duan Zhao then pointed to the big hammer lying on the ground. ”Try lifting it, Kid.”

”Master, that hammer—”

Duan Zhao shook his head at Xian Xian. ”Try it, kid.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei immediately approached the hammer and held the handle. ʼOh? This hammer should weigh 5000 pounds.ʼ

[You are right, Master. That hammer really does weigh 5000 pounds, but itʼs not a problem for you to lift it.]

ʼYeah.ʼ When he first came to the Nine Stars Realm, Zhang Fei did not want to show his strength to anyone. However, the situation slowly changed, and more and more people came to know of his strength; even several emperors from kingdoms started targeting him.

Zhang Feiʼs battles with Zhou Fang and Zhou Tong had already given him a lot of insight into his potential and strength, and their battles made him more confident in himself, so he decided to hide his strength no longer.

Without hesitation, Zhang Fei lifted the 5000-pound hammer and swung it, leaving Xian Xian dumbstruck while Gang Zhishou fell onto his butt.

”As expected.” Duan Zhao muttered under his breath as he nodded in satisfaction with Zhang Feiʼs actions. ”Your attack power should be equivalent to a cultivator at the Seven Divine Realms, and your body strength is higher than Xian Xianʼs, perhaps equivalent to a body cultivator at the Bone Forging Stage or higher.”

”Is Zhang Feiʼs strength really that high, Master?”

”Do you still need to doubt it, Zhishou?” Duan Zhao responded with a frown. ”You, Xian Xian, and the others canʼt even lift the hammer perfectly, yet he can swing it so easily.”

Gang Zhishou and Xian Xian smiled bitterly at that, and they looked at Zhang Fei, who was still swinging the hammer in awe.

Duan Zhao then asked him. ”What brought you here, Kid?”

Zhang Fei immediately put down the hammer and took out the gun, showing it to Duan Zhao. ”This is a weapon from my home realm, but it is useless against cultivators, especially since it uses ordinary bullets. Thatʼs why I want to create a weapon similar to this, using my own Qi as the bullets.”

Duan Zhao first scanned the gun before speaking to Zhang Fei. ”Show me how to use it.”

”All right.” Zhang Fei then looked around before firing the gun at an empty can twice.

*Bang... Bang...*

The sound of the gunshot and the hole in the can shocked Xian Xian and Gang Zhishou. In contrast, Duan Zhao approached the can, picked it up, and examined the hole. ”If Iʼm not mistaken, the bullet is made of steel filled with gunpowder and some other materials.”

”Honestly, I donʼt understand how to make it, but the materials are more or less as you mentioned, Senior.” Zhang Fei then asked him. ”Can you create one with Qi as the bullet for me, Senior?”

Duan Zhao didnʼt dare to immediately agree with Zhang Fei because he had only seen the gun for the first time, but he already more or less understood how it worked. ”I have to try it first, but I canʼt promise you that I will succeed in creating it, and I need a lot of time to determine the concept of the weapon. If I have the concept, I will ask Zhishou to contact you, and you can come to me again to discuss it.”

”I donʼt need it in a hurry, so you can try creating it slowly, Senior.” Duan Zhao nodded to Zhang Fei. ”By the way, Old Gang told me once about a competition against blacksmiths from the Divine Flame Realm, and I am interested in joining that competition.”

”It would be beneficial for you if you want to join that competition.” Duan Zhao said as he nodded. ”However, the competition is scheduled to take place in a month, and to participate, you must be able to forge at least a spirit-grade piece of equipment perfectly.”

Zhang Fei nodded understandingly in response. ”Donʼt worry, Senior. I will succeed in forging a perfect spirit-grade weapon before the competition takes place.”

”Thatʼs good.” Duan Zhao then spoke to his disciples. ”You guys can go back to your respective places and prepare yourselves for the competition. You must win against your opponents, or I will punish you severely.”

”We will return now, Master.”

After they said goodbye to Duan Zhao, Gang Zhishou immediately led Zhang Fei away, but Xian Xian followed them and wanted to join them. ”Hey! Iʼll go with you two to the Xian capital.”

”Why do you want to go with us there?”

”Him.” Xian Xian pointed at Zhang Fei. ”I want to witness how he trains his body, as everything about him seems too absurd.”

Zhang Fei smiled wryly at that. ”Senior Xian, I donʼt train in the capital, but I train in another place. Regrettably, that location is off-limits to outsiders, so I am unable to take you there, lest my master in body cultivation punish me harshly.”

”Canʼt you take me there?” Xian Xian was disappointed by Zhang Feiʼs shaking head. ”All right, I wonʼt force you to take me there, and weʼll meet again in a month.”

After that, Xian Xian took out her flying artifact and hurriedly flew towards the Zhou Kingdom, and Zhang Fei brought Gang Zhishou back to the Xian capital using the Nine Cloud Steps.

Inside the house, Duan Zhao immediately took out some parchment and began sketching the weapon that Zhang Fei wanted, excited to create something he had never seen before.

After they arrived in the Xian capital, Zhang Fei rushed to the Sky Jade Shop, and Gang Zhishou began his training inside his shop.

When he arrived, Zhang Fei saw that his shop was filled with customers, many of whom came from other kingdoms. He immediately thought of opening a branch of his restaurant and shop in the Yun Kingdom, but he had to go there first to meet Yun Shang and Guo Xuehua.

Zhang Fei rushed to the alchemy room and contacted Yun Xinyue directly, but the Yun Princess told him that she was on her way to the Xian Kingdom. ʼSince they will be here soon, I will wait for them to talk to Guo Xuehua about my plan.ʼ

Mei suddenly reminded Zhang Fei. [Master, you still havenʼt opened the reward for the quest to open a shop and the reward for clearing the first floor of the Star Tower.] (A/N: Actually, I forgot about these two quests, and I just added them in chapters 608 and 609.)

ʼOh, thatʼs right; you can open both, Mei.ʼ

[You obtained a fragment of an old map.]

[You obtained one of the seven profound treasures: the Sealed World Pearl.]

Zhang Fei immediately took the two items from the inventory, but the old map fragment immediately shot into his body through his forehead.

[Ding]

[The host obtained a 1/6 map fragment of the Temple of Forgotten Flames.]

ʼTemple of Forgotten Flames?ʼ Zhang Fei wondered to himself as he tried to see the map in his consciousness, but it only showed a portion of the entire map, so he couldnʼt find out the location. ʼSigh; forget it then. Iʼll wait until I obtain the remaining five fragments, but I donʼt know where to find the rest, or if they are rewards from the upcoming quests.ʼ

Zhang Fei then observed that the white pearl in his hand was as large as a tennis ball. ʼDo you have any information about the seven profound treasures, Mei?ʼ

[I will display the list for you, Master.]

===

[Seven Profound Treasures]

1. Heaven And Earth Pagoda

2. Ancient Void Gate

3. Mirror of Eternity

4. Sky-Severing Sword

5. Lotus of Annihilation

6. Mystic Jade Cauldron

7. Sealed World Pearl

===

ʼHmm? The Sealed World Pearl is ranked seventh, huh? What is the use of this pearl? Are there any details about the other treasure?ʼ

[Unfortunately, the system does not explain the details of each treasure, Master. As for the Sealed World Pearl, you can try dripping your blood on it.]

Zhang Fei immediately tried it, and the Sealed World Pearl sparkled as he dripped his blood on it. In a few seconds, it immediately shot into his forehead, and some information appeared in his mind. ʼOh? What a marvelous treasure! Only the first of its five features has been unlocked, and there is no method for unlocking the others.ʼ

[Are you going to check it now, Master?]

ʼNo.ʼ Zhang Fei immediately took out his alchemy furnace. ʼWe are in a public place, and my clones are busy dual soul cultivating. Moreover, Guo Xuehua and the others will be here soon, so I will try to check after we get back.ʼ

After that, Zhang Fei took out the ingredients to concoct the rank 3 Bone Mending Pill, and he wanted to concoct it perfectly as soon as possible. He was confident that this concoction would unlock the level three alchemy feature, which would enable him to access even more useful pill recipes.

Since dawn, Zhang Xiaolong [3] and the two women had already dug up so many precious stones in Shang Xiaoyinʼs secret place, so they decided to stop.

”What are we going to do about them?” Shang Yaolin asked as she pointed at Shang Baishi and Shang Xiaoyin.

”We must bring them back to our residence so that people wonʼt be too suspicious.” Zhang Xialong [3] then said to Shang Xinyu. ”Big Sis, Iʼll send you to the Azure Sky Realm again, and Iʼll bring you back after the situation in this realm is more conducive.”

”All right.”
