The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Sneaking into the Princess Mansion at Night

Su Yaogeng suddenly lost her appetite, waved her hand and said, ”If I had known this would happen, I should have told Brother never to let him come back!”

Clearly, when he hadn’t returned, everything was calm, and everyone was fine on their own.

Now that he’s just come back, everything has turned into chaos.

If he was really such an absurd person, how could he... forget it, forget it, it’s truly meaningless!

”Let them make a fuss if they want, order the people in the mansion to behave themselves. If anyone dares to gossip, have them flogged to death.” Su Yaogeng instructed.

”I’ve already had the steward give the orders.” Aunt Xi replied.

Su Yaogeng nodded, turned to Han Jing and said, ”You should go back to rest early as well, no need to stay with me. It’s nothing. Once they’ve had enough of their fussing, this matter will pass. In another month, the New Year will be here. Tomorrow morning, have the embroiderer come to take measurements for you and Xue’er to make a few new clothes.”

Seeing that Su Yaogeng wasn’t too greatly affected, Han Jing nodded, stood up, and took her leave.

After returning, she brought An Chuxue along and had Mu Jin explain the basic Internal Cultivation Methods to her. Unconsciously, it reached the end of the Hai hour. Just as she was about to bathe and rest, Dongbao came saying, ”Miss, Uncle Xu says someone has broken into the Princess Mansion and is heading towards the Princess’s courtyard. He sent me to inform you, Miss.”

”What?” Han Jing asked in astonishment, ”Nobody stopped them?”

”There are Hidden Guards in the Princess’s courtyard, Miss, you don’t need to worry. Nothing will happen. Uncle Xu was afraid someone might intend harm towards you, so he asked me to tell you and Miss Chuxue to be cautious and not be careless.” Dongbao replied.

Han Jing frowned. In the middle of the night, someone dared to intrude into the Princess Mansion? Who could have such audacity?

Casual assassins couldn’t harm her mother. Han Jing was not worried about that. She was just curious about who would choose this time to intrude into the Princess Mansion.

”Go and tell Uncle Xu to keep an eye on things. If, after twenty minutes, they haven’t come out, come and inform me.” Han Jing suspected it might not be an assassin but someone looking for someone.

If they were indeed looking for Su Yaogeng, it would be as awkward as it was in the afternoon if she went over now.

Dongbao nodded and then looked up at Han Jing hesitantly, ”Miss, there’s one more thing...”

”What is it?” Han Jing asked.

Dongbao leaned closer and whispered, ”The Marquis went into the Princess’s courtyard an hour ago and hasn’t come out yet.”

Han Jing’s eyes widened, ”What?”

Dongbao dared not speak further. After all, Aunt Qin had instructed not to casually tell the Miss about such things, as they were private matters of the Princess.

However, having closely accompanied Han Jing for so many years, Dongbao naturally knew how unusual the Marquis was today and how concerned Han Jing was about this matter. So he secretly told her.

Han Jing waved her hand, ”Go find Uncle Xu first.”

Dongbao nodded and went out.

Han Jing knew she couldn’t overly meddle in Su Yaogeng’s private affairs, but she always felt there was something wrong about it. Su Yaogeng was the closest person to her, and she couldn’t just watch her fall into such a passive situation. Yes, Han Jing always felt that in this matter, Su Yaogeng seems to be in a passive position. Clearly, with her status and position, there were many things that she didn’t need to tolerate.
