The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 197: Chapter 197: Man Proposes, God Disposes

However, this time Su Yaogeng rarely did not joke with Han Jing, but sighed, ”Jing’er, in this life, being granted the fate of mother and daughter with you is the greatest gift from heaven. Some things are destined, and no one can do anything about them.”

Han Jing opened her mouth, wanting very much to ask her why, but ultimately, she couldn’t bring herself to ask.

If it was something she could say, Mother certainly wouldn’t keep it from her!

So, it must have been something difficult to talk about, which is why she chose to bear it alone!

Han Jing suddenly felt that if it wasn’t really helpless, in the past, Su Yaogeng definitely wouldn’t have made such a decision, nor would she necessarily have chosen to keep such a distance from Han Siqu.

Although she didn’t think much of Han Siqu’s ways, there was one thing he was right about.

Perhaps it wasn’t that he hadn’t tried, but that Su Yaogeng truly hadn’t given him any opportunity.

”Mother, what kind of person was Father in the past?” Han Jing asked somewhat curiously.

Han Siqu is quite a scoundrel, and quite indifferent, but if he didn’t care about anything, why would he come here today to make a drunken scene?

Su Yaogeng furrowed her brows, showing a hint of helplessness and sadness: ”Maybe it’s really my fault. He wasn’t particularly outstanding before, but he was a polite and courteous young man from a noble family, and because he was handsome, he attracted the affection of quite a few noble young women in the Capital City. We grew up together, more or less, and he did have a streak of seriousness. Unlike his brother, he wouldn’t always yield to me. I was very domineering since childhood, and when I was immature, I fought with him quite a bit. As we grew up, our relationship gradually faded, but after all, there was still some sibling affection. He used to like following Han Si Que a lot, and the brothers had always had a good relationship. I was the one who forcefully ruined it all. If there’s someone who made the most mistakes, it was really me. At the time, Brother had not yet ascended the throne. We are of the same mother, and ultimately, I didn’t trust him, so after that incident, instead of thinking about leaving the Capital City, I impulsively made a wrong decision, ultimately causing a rift between the brothers.”

Su Yaogeng shook her head: ”Looking back now, I really did make a mistake. What I thought was revenge didn’t actually bring that much joy. As time passed, when love and hate faded, I realized that everything wasn’t as important as I initially thought.”

If back then she hadn’t been so impulsive, just endured for two more years, waited until Brother ascended the throne, then left the Capital City, none of this would have happened.

Nor would the situation be as it is today.

But at the time, she thought she would love for a lifetime, and hate for a lifetime.

In the end, she discovered she didn’t love that much.

The person she loved back then was no longer the same as he was in the beginning.

”So, Jing’er, don’t hold on too tightly to anything. Obsession is the most damaging.” Although she was reassured to leave Jing’er in Su Yu’s hands, the world changes quickly, and the road ahead is long. No one knows how the future will unfold.

”Mother, what’s done is done, there is no right or wrong. If you feel it’s right, continue; if you feel it’s wrong, find a way to change it. Man proposes, God disposes. This world, although it has its rules, comes from humans themselves and is not unchangeable. Stepping out might bring a new beginning. Mother, don’t let past events weigh on your mind any longer.”
