The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 196: Chapter 196: Someday

”Oh, our Jing’er has truly grown up and even knows how to comfort Mother.” Su Yaogeng smiled and patted Han Jing’s hand. ”Don’t worry, Mother is fine. Over the years, after weathering so many storms, would I be bothered by such trivial matters?”

Su Yaogeng sighed and sat down with Han Jing. ”I just didn’t expect that, as soon as he returned, so many things would unravel. What’s the point? Past events, whether right or wrong, are already irretrievable. Why keep clinging to them? It unjustly involves innocent people. Mrs. Qin is also a pitiable person.”

Back then, she had hated and resented, but as time passed, everything had become meaningless.

Whether she forgave him or not, what difference would it make?

Without each other, haven’t they both continued their lives just the same all these years?

Since he made that choice back then, why couldn’t he cherish those before him, turning the situation into what it is now? It’s far more than just disgraceful. If he truly harmed Mrs. Qin’s life, how could he feel at ease?

The relationships among the major families in the Capital City are intricate, just like one strand can move the entire web. Divorce might be trivial in ordinary families, but in the Capital City, it is of utmost importance. How could noble families tolerate such occurrences? Who knows how many innocent people would be implicated?

Indeed, this isn’t her business, she hasn’t done anything, even if there are accusations, they can’t be pinned on her.

But after all, she is still the Eldest Princess of Nanyao Country, and has to establish herself in the Capital City; she can’t just act as if nothing has happened.

”Mother, do you really intend to stay in the Capital City forever?” Han Jing felt that the Capital City wasn’t a place for long-term stay. Even though Su Yaogeng is now the Eldest Princess, enjoying all the glory, first because of her ability, and second because the Emperor is still alive.

If a new Emperor ascends to the throne, her mother may not be as comfortable in the Capital City.

She plans to leave in the future and hopes Su Yaogeng can leave with her. With her abilities, she shouldn’t be bound in the Capital City, living this meaningless life.

Originally, if not for taking care of her, Han Jing thought Su Yaogeng would have left this place of trouble long ago.

”I don’t know.” Su Yaogeng shook her head. ”The future is long, who can say for sure? The Capital City may seem stable, but it is fraught with hidden troubles. After all, I am still a princess of the Imperial Family, and someday, I fear I may be drawn into this vortex.”

Su Yaogeng understands the situation in the Capital City much more than Han Jing does; the Princes are not people to be underestimated, and their attachment to the throne is not as calm as it appears on the surface. She had promised her Brother that if the Capital City really fell into chaos one day, she would stay to take charge.

”I still hope Mother can leave with me someday, so that one day, our family can live a carefree life.” Han Jing wanted so much, yet so little; she wanted to truly stand in a place without fear, to guard everything she wished to protect.

Su Yaogeng nodded with a smile: ”Alright, if that day comes, Mother will go with you, and our family will live a carefree life.”

If someday, Su Yu can really give Jing’er a peaceful world, she will of course stay with her daughter and grandchildren to enjoy the twilight years, hoping that day will come.

Han Jing blinked: ”Mother never thought about finding another father for me?”
