The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 173: Chapter 173: Welcome Gift

When the two returned to Chenyu Pavilion, they happened to meet Su Yaogeng there.

She had heard that Han Jing had brought a friend back to the mansion and had specially come over today to take a look. Unexpectedly, they had gone out, so she waited in Chenyu Pavilion for a while.

Han Jing brought An Chuxue over and said with a smile, ”An’an, this is my mother.”

Then she stepped forward and hugged Su Yaogeng’s arm: ”Mother, did you come specifically to see my new friend? Her name is An Chuxue. We hit it off immediately. She’s currently alone in the Capital City, with no relatives, so I plan to let her stay in my courtyard. You won’t mind, will you?”

Su Yaogeng scrutinized An Chuxue, a beautiful and delicate young woman with clear eyes, not someone with complex thoughts.

Having met countless people, Su Yaogeng could see through someone like An Chuxue, who had no hidden agendas, at a glance.

An Chuxue felt a little nervous. The Eldest Princess, she’d heard, was the most noble princess in Nanyao Country, but is her temperament really that good?

She wanted to bow but couldn’t recall the appropriate etiquette.

Su Yaogeng, however, smiled first: ”What a beautiful young woman, no wonder Jing’er likes you. Just settle in comfortably and keep each other company.”

Then she gestured kindly for her to come over: ”No need for formalities, come quickly and sit down. From now on, treat this as your home.”

An Chuxue walked over, allowing Su Yaogeng to kindly take her hand, still a bit bewildered. Could it be that the Eldest Princess is actually such a gentle person?

She blinked: ”You’re not at all how I imagined.”

Su Yaogeng asked curiously: ”Oh? Then in Xue’er’s eyes, what should I be like?”

An Chuxue, feeling a bit flustered by this naturally affectionate ’Xue’er’, blushed and said shyly: ”I thought you would be stern and unapproachable. I didn’t expect you to be so young and beautiful, just like a big sister.”

This indeed refreshed An Chuxue’s senses. In her understanding, wasn’t the Eldest Princess supposed to be the kind of stern, noble, domineering, and arrogant woman who looked down on everything? But Su Yaogeng looked like she was in her twenties, her skin smooth like jade, without a single line, as if time had only left its mark in her noble and elegant temperament. Coupled with her kind and gentle smile, she felt just like a caring sister—far, far beyond what An Chuxue expected!

Su Yaogeng couldn’t help but laugh out loud, and said to Han Jing: ”Where did you find such an adorable little girl? Look at how sweet her words are, making me feel like I’ve become younger myself!”

Han Jing laughed and said: ”That’s because you were always young, mother!”

Su Yaogeng chuckled: ”You are all so good with words!”

Then she casually took off a translucent white jade bracelet from her wrist and placed it on An Chuxue’s wrist: ”I said earlier this morning, A xi picked out this Floating Snow Jade Bracelet for me. Look, isn’t it fitting? See how beautiful it is.”

The entire bracelet was exquisite white jade, rare for having a few naturally formed snowflakes inside, as if a picturesque snow scene would appear right before one’s eyes. An Chuxue had never seen such a beautiful bracelet before.

But it was so valuable that she instinctively wanted to refuse. However, before she could say anything, Su Yaogeng stopped her: ”You aren’t allowed to refuse. You’re Jing’er’s friend, just like my daughter, so consider this a small meeting gift. Accept it with peace of mind, or I won’t be happy!”
