CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2180: Chapter 2188: This Is Her Business

From the first moment Stella Carter met Jane Sampson’s husband, she knew he was not someone to mess with, but she hadn’t expected things to reach this level.

Stella Carter had no doubt about Jane Sampson’s husband’s ability to boot him out of the film crew; the director’s familiar chat with Jane Sampson’s husband indicated they were quite acquainted.

Just as he said, right now she was just a stand-in, a dispensable stand-in who could be replaced at any time.

”Harry, let’s ask around who started these rumors,” Coco Edwards tugged at Harry, ”I can’t believe we can’t identify who’s been spreading rumors on this small set this afternoon.”

”There’s no need,” James Black said, ”You two stay here, and when she’s finished filming, take good care of her, I’ll handle the rest.”

After saying that, James Black picked up the sunglasses from the chair and put them on his nose bridge, ”I’m heading out for a bit; if she comes over and I’m not back, just tell her I went to buy something.”

”Okay,” Coco Edwards nodded.

After James Black left, Harry’s shoulders finally relaxed.

”Just now, the way Mr. Black looked at Stella Carter was as frightening as a knife,” Harry said, ”Do you think Stella Carter really needs to explain to each person one by one?”

”That’s her business,” Coco Edwards had no time to be concerned about how Stella Carter would handle the mistake she made.

After all, all the rumors about Jane Sampson and James Carter would collapse on their own once Jane Sampson’s background was made public, so she wasn’t worried about this.

”Sister Coco, do you think Sister Jane really did...?” Harry couldn’t quite finish the sentence.

”No,” Coco Edwards said confidently, ”Like you, I was worried earlier, but now I’m not concerned. Our little Jane is fine; she’s God’s beloved daughter, and God wouldn’t treat our little Jane this way.”

”You’re right, Sister Jane’s injury is already heartbreaking enough,” Harry was convinced by Coco Edwards.

During the afternoon filming, Jane Sampson didn’t get a break until around 6 o’clock, and she only had time for a meal before having to continue.

This meal time was specially arranged by the director who knew James Black would make sure she had three meals a day.

”Where did James go?” Jane Sampson looked around but couldn’t find James Black, and asked, ”Did he go to the restroom?”

”No, Mr. Black sent me a message earlier saying we shouldn’t fetch the boxed rice. It seems he ordered meals from outside; he probably went to get them,” Coco Edwards explained, having received the message half an hour ago.

Since James Black left in the afternoon, he hadn’t returned.

However, members of the crew were being called in for questioning one after another, and Coco Edwards guessed James Black was handling the matter.

With so few people on this set, more than two hours had passed, and Coco thought James Black should have found out who overheard and spread Stella Carter and Jillian Carter’s conversation.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have so precisely timed his message half an hour ago directing her not to fetch the boxed rice.

In less than ten minutes, James Black returned with dinner for four people and put the meal on the table, the aroma making Jane Sampson take a deep breath.

”I brought you yogurt,” James Black handed Jane Sampson another bag containing yogurt, ”Have it after your meal.”

”Why’d you suddenly decide to order food from outside?” Jane Sampson asked curiously.
