CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2178: Chapter 2186: It Wasn’t Me

The other two extras also turned pale with fear.

”Harry, we didn’t say those things, what’s the point of suing us? We also heard it from others.” The man, after speaking, turned and ran.

The remaining woman was even more nervous, ”Harry, your Sister Jane won’t really sue me, right? I really just heard it from others and have a bad habit of discussing it when I hear something.”

Stella Carter stood there, in her mind, at that moment, there was only one sentence.

And that was.

She’s finished.

When Stella Carter heard the gossip these film crew members spread privately, she realized that the conversation she and Jillian Carter had in the corner was overheard.

Jillian Carter insisted that Jane Sampson was assaulted when she was kidnapped, and somehow, the ones eavesdropping also believed it, and then stated it as fact to others.

It’s no wonder James Black approached her. Because she ran into Jane Sampson in the morning, it was too normal for Jane to first suspect her once this thing happened.

But in reality, she really wasn’t the one who spread it; she just told Jillian Carter that she saw Jane Sampson coming out of James Carter’s room wearing pajamas in the morning.

”Stella Carter, why are you still sitting here, waiting for Mr. Black to invite you personally? Or waiting for our Sister Jane to come find you?” Harry Little Money said to the other woman with a stern face, ”Did you say you heard it from others? Who did you hear it from? If you don’t clarify, then I’ll tell Sister Jane that I heard you and that guy talking. If we sue, we’ll sue both of you!”

After speaking, Harry snorted, ”People like you who slander others behind their backs still want to be actors? Pfft, I’ll make sure the lawyer sues you so hard that you can’t stay in any field!”

Saying so, Harry reached out, grabbed Stella Carter who was still sitting motionless there, and pulled her along as he strode away.

Stella Carter panicked and kept explaining to Harry all the way that those words were not spread by her, until they reached James Black. Seeing him standing there with a cold face and a hawk-like intimidating gaze, Stella was almost scared to tears.

James Black was part of the Black Family of Capital Province. Even though her family shared the Carter surname, she was only a distant relative of the Carter Family and had average family conditions. Otherwise, she wouldn’t be trying so hard to debut and gain fame.

Offending James Black, Stella Carter didn’t dare to imagine what would happen to her, but there was absolutely no chance of her staying in this industry.

”Mr. Black, those words were really not spread by me.” Without waiting for James Black to ask, Stella Carter gratefully explained, ”Just now Jillian came, saw me, and pulled me aside to talk. I swear, I really only told Jillian that I saw Jane Sampson go looking for Brother James Carter this morning, everything else was said by Jillian. The rumors about Jane Sampson being harmed were also spread by Jillian.”

Stella’s tears were welling up in her eyes, ”After Jillian left, I didn’t spread any of it, because I didn’t believe what she said. I couldn’t spread it either. I’m Jane Sampson’s stand-in, and if her reputation gets affected and shooting is compromised, I’d also lose this job.”

Seeing James Black still standing there with a cold face, at this moment Stella was truly scared to tears. She whispered through her sobs, ”Mr. Black, someone must have eavesdropped on my conversation with Jillian and then exaggerated it outside. Mr. Black, you can’t blame me for this, I’m innocent too~”
