CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2157: Chapter 2165: You Ask

”When it comes to being lazy, you sure run fast.” James Black stood there, helplessly shaking his head, and then began to slowly catch up.

After walking about ten meters, he saw a sneaky dark head peek out from behind a tree to look at him, then a dark figure darted out from behind and took off running again, which didn’t surprise James.

All the while, he could hear her loud and proud laughter.

He was willing to indulge her, to let her be happy and carefree like this for a lifetime.

The next day, the internet realm’s hot topic about Jane Sampson had yet to cool down.

After breakfast, James Black put Jane Sampson’s coat on and took her out the door.

When the car stopped, Jane Sampson turned her head to look outside the window and realized that James had brought her to see the traditional Chinese medicine doctor early in the morning again.

”There are a lot of people around, put on your hood, mask, and glasses.” James Black turned off the car, seeing Jane still sitting there looking outside the window, he pulled her over and helped her put on her gear before opening the car door.

Jane Sampson hopped along, following James Black closely. Many people passed them by, but no one noticed them.

James held Jane all the way into the independent clinic inside.

Once the door was shut, Jane took off the glasses from her nose bridge, ”Grandpa Peterson, I’m here again!”

”Ah, here you are, you little lass, a while back, you even made this old man shed a few tears for you.” The veteran Chinese medicine doctor waved to Jane Sampson, ”Last night, James Black called to say he was bringing you here today, I was so happy I didn’t sleep well all night.”

”Come, little lass, sit down, let me take your pulse and see how your health has been in the past six months.” The traditional Chinese medicine doctor gestured for Jane to sit down and extend her hand.

While speaking to Jane, his gaze also observed her face, checking her complexion and the sleepiness under her eyes.

”Looks like you haven’t been eating properly again, have you? You’ve lost weight again.” The traditional Chinese medicine doctor chided, ”You young girls, always thinking about getting thin, losing weight. Look at you, are you planning to become a ’white bone spirit’? You could save on special effects money for the transformation in your shows.”

”Grandpa Peterson, I’m really trying hard to gain weight, really, I’ve been trying for a long time.” Jane Sampson defended herself.

”So, are you just being picky with food? Since you were born, I’ve never seen you chubby, I wonder if, in my lifetime, I’ll have the chance to see you put on weight.” The old doctor muttered as he reached to take Jane’s pulse.

After about two minutes, the old doctor asked, ”Has your stomach been acting up recently?”

”Yes,” Jane Sampson nodded.

”You need to nurture it slowly.” The matter of Jane’s previous kidnapping, James Black had told him over the phone last night. Not eating for several days had messed up her stomach.

”I’ll prescribe you a new batch of medicine.” The old doctor began to write on the paper with a pen, ”The physical weakness you’ve been dealing with over the past six months has improved a bit, slowly.”

After finishing writing, the old doctor handed the contract to James Black, ”Take this to my apprentice, tell him to personally prepare the medicine for you.”

James took the contract, instructed Jane to wait for him there, and then opened the door to leave.

Jane Sampson sat on a chair, craning her head to make sure James had walked away before turning back, lowering her voice and quietly asking, ”Grandpa Peterson, I want to ask you something.”
