CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 2175: Chapter 2183: Showing Off

”Dad and mom really support me wanting to start a company. Knowing I don’t have much money, they gave me tens of millions as startup funding. They said if I need more money, just ask them.”

”Honestly, it’s a bit embarrassing to still ask them for money at my age, unlike you who can earn money on your own, which is great.” Jillian Carter finished speaking with a slightly guilty expression.

”I hope after the company is established, I can become independent soon. Once my first season of new products is finalized, I’ll send it to you for feedback, okay? You can check which set you like, and I’ll give it to you. You can help me promote it too.”

”She doesn’t have time to look at it, she’s very busy,” James Black intervened for Jane Sampson, ”Don’t bring your company matters to her, she doesn’t have as much free time as you.”

Jane Sampson turned her head away, holding back her laughter.

Just how much is James Black afraid of her taking a loss? He didn’t even give her the chance to respond to a couple of lines.

Last time James Carter came, he mentioned that the money for Jillian Carter’s company came from selling some immovable property and part of the support from Joseph Shaw.

So, Jane Sampson knew full well where Jillian Carter’s startup funds came from. Hearing Jillian use a tone suggesting her parents insisted on spoiling her, Jane Sampson had to muster a lot of effort to suppress her laughter.

Even if Jane Sampson knew how things actually were, or even if she didn’t know, Jillian Carter trying to provoke her with money matters and show off was useless to her.

Even if these tens of millions were given to Jillian by the Carter Family, so what?

Jane Sampson, after all, holds assets worth several hundreds of millions, all of which were gifts from the four seniors of the Carter Family.

”Really?” Jillian couldn’t hold it together, her voice sounding deflated. If only Jane Sampson was here alone, Jillian would have had more to say back.

Because Joseph Shaw had mentioned, Jane Sampson has a soft heart. She cares about the Carter Family, so for their sake, as long as it doesn’t cross her bottom line, Jane Sampson would choose to endure.

Jillian wouldn’t be foolish enough to cross Jane Sampson’s bottom line again; she was truly afraid of the harsh words Jane left at the Carter Family’s place last time.

However, Jillian did enjoy occasionally poking at Jane Sampson. Seeing her get upset brought Jillian joy.

”Since my brother isn’t here, I’ll just leave. Let’s catch up for a meal when we both have time,” Jillian dared not act out in front of James Black; Jane Sampson might tolerate her for the Carter Family, but James wouldn’t.

After speaking, Jillian walked briskly away from the film set with her purse over her shoulder.

After Jillian had left, Jane Sampson couldn’t hold back her laughter any longer.

”If I had told her just now that I know her startup funds were scraped together from selling immovable property, perhaps she would have run even faster?” Jane’s gaze was full of meaning, ”Watching her like that is quite amusing.”

Jillian set up her own stage, thinking she invited everyone on stage to perform together, yet she never realized that from start to finish, she was the only one on stage, performing tirelessly, lost in her own world.

”Dealing with someone like Jillian Carter, spending one more second feels like a waste of time.” James Black really lacked patience for people and matters like these.

”Boasting to me about how favored she is by the Carter Family while simultaneously wanting to use me to promote her company. Does Jillian think she’s the sun, and that the whole earth revolves around her? Does she think besides her, everyone else is a fool who doesn’t know how to scheme?”
