CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1785: Chapter 1793: Traces of Imitation

”I just happened to review the first few episodes. Frankly speaking, there are a few episodes where Jillian Carter’s performance is barely watchable, but her acting is heavily marked by mimicry. Once those parts pass, her acting skills are genuinely unwatchable,” Old Young said. ”I figure that after Jillian Carter joined the film crew, she definitely watched the scripts you, Jane Sampson, performed, and then mimicked you to play the role.”

”Huh?” Jane Sampson didn’t quite understand.

”However, back then the filming set started not long before you terminated your contract with the film crew, so the parts Jillian Carter could mimic were very limited. Without a reference to mimic, she really couldn’t bring out the character’s vivacity,” Old Young, who had worked with Jane Sampson before, knew some of her acting details and habits as a director.

Therefore, when reviewing the web drama ”The President’s Wife is Not Human,” Old Young immediately saw through that when others were saying Jillian Carter’s performance was okay, it was all mimicry of Jane Sampson.

”In that web drama, among the entire film crew’s acting skills, Jillian Carter was really too out of place. She truly ruined that role.” At least as a director, Old Young felt that Jillian Carter ruined it completely.

A fox fairy that was so lively and adorable was portrayed by Jillian Carter without a trace of that liveliness and cleverness.

When the plot twisted, during Jillian Carter’s crying scenes, although there were tears on her face, it was obvious they were eye drops applied to her face because her expression showed no signs of grief.

”Although I haven’t seen your movie yet, I can already predict how miserably this web drama will fail,” Old Young clicked his tongue, ”the cast is already setting it up for failure.”

Having said this, Old Young looked over at James Carter with an indescribable expression.

He found it strange that with the Carter Family’s upbringing, they could raise a girl like Jillian Carter?

”Sigh, let’s not talk about these things anymore.” Seeing James Carter silent, Old Young tactfully shifted the topic.

Jillian Carter might be lacking, but she was still James Carter’s younger sister.

Later in the conversation, it focused more on the new drama ”Voice and Shadow” by Jane Sampson and James Carter.

After eating, Jane Sampson didn’t return to the guard team but instead went straight home.

Taking advantage of the time while it was still early, she tidied up her dressing table, then recorded a little video with her mobile phone, content being about the replacements she found after throwing away D’s products.

She found almost identical and equally good lipsticks to those she discarded.

Jane Sampson updated a long twitter post, which included not only the video but also listed all D’s products she replaced, including skincare, makeup products, clothing, bags, and others.

After posting the video, Jane Sampson made a WhatsAPP call with James Black.

She didn’t know that her twitter post had angered people at D’s company to the point they wished they could find someone to delete her post.

And all the brands that Jane Sampson pointed out as replacements for D’s products were very happy, as if they struck gold.

The cosmetic substitutes that Jane Sampson recommended, domestically, sold out overnight. Those who saw Jane Sampson’s twitter post the next morning found the products out of stock when they tried to buy them from the official website.

And all the major specialty counters’ stocks were cleaned out in half a day.
