CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1767: Chapter 1775: Then Go Hungry

James Black heard Jane Sampson’s words, stayed quiet for a few seconds, and asked in a deep voice, ”Where have you been?”

”Went out to buy groceries~” Jane Sampson answered as if it was the most natural thing in the world, ”Sister Tin called me, we decided to do a live stream tonight, where I’ll be cooking. Your dormitory fridge is empty, so I definitely had to go out and buy some ingredients.”

At this point, Jane Sampson even hummed to show she was quite unhappy, ”Didn’t you say you would bring me lunch back from the dining hall? Why is it that when I came back to the dormitory, I couldn’t find any food anywhere?”

”So that’s how it is.” James Black thought she had left because she was angry with him; turns out she just went out to buy something, absent-mindedly leaving her mobile phone at home.

”From now on, when you go out, let me know.” James thought, if she hadn’t left without telling him, this misunderstanding wouldn’t have happened.

He had spent the whole afternoon thinking about how to coax his wife back home.

Jane Sampson felt a bit choked.

It was indeed her who felt guilty and not confident, so she softened her voice, ”I forgot~”

”I’ll have Martin bring the meal back to the dormitory for you. You can heat it and eat some.” James Black couldn’t leave at the moment, so he asked someone to bring back the meal he had taken out from the dormitory.

After arranging everything, seeing Jane Sampson hadn’t hung up yet, he added, ”Remember, no matter where you go next time, let me know in advance. If you can’t reach me, at least leave a note in the house.”

”Mm, mm, mm.” Knowing James Black wasn’t angry, Jane Sampson secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

She thought about it and curiously asked another question, ”What if I accidentally forget again next time, then what?”

James Black’s eyelid twitched, his voice was cold and firm, ”Then you’ll starve.”

”Eek~” Jane Sampson pouted, displeased, glanced at the ingredients she had just bought in the kitchen, snickered, but didn’t dare to retort at this moment.

Inside, she amused herself, knowing she wouldn’t go hungry since she has her own hands and feet.

After hanging up the phone, Jane Sampson got busy because there were some ingredients she needed to prepare first.

She got so busy that she didn’t even realize when the sun went down outside. When James Black entered the house quietly and stood at the doorway of the kitchen, he actually startled her.

”Why do you walk like a cat, making no sound? When did you get back? You scared me.” Jane Sampson shook off the water on her hand, muttered a sentence, and then said to James Black, ”Since you’re back, Peter Gingery must have gone to the dining hall to eat, right? I got so busy, I forgot the time and also forgot to tell him to come over for dinner tonight.”

”Mm.” James Black walked in and took a breath.

The fragrance from here could be smelled even downstairs.

As he was coming up the building, several people asked him if Jane Sampson had made something delicious for him again.

Every time Jane Sampson came to the guard team, everyone would crave for a few days.

”Then tell him to come for a late-night snack.” Jane Sampson said, ”It’s already set with the live broadcast platform, the stream is at 9 p.m. I’ll be making a few dishes. You should have Peter Gingery come over around 10 p.m.”

James Black responded with another mm, standing there, unable to resist, he lifted the lid of the stew pot for a look. Seeing the soup inside, he asked, ”What kind of soup is this?”
