CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1784: Chapter 1792: I Know

”Grandpa Carter and Grandpa were actually teammates in the past. Grandpa Carter said he even held your mother when she was just two years old, and he still remembers her name. I gave him Grandpa’s phone number, and Grandpa Carter said he would call Grandpa tomorrow morning to catch up.”

James Black was a bit surprised, not expecting there to be such connections between the Black Family and the Carter Family.

However...

”Jane Sampson, not my mother, she is our mother.” James Black corrected Jane Sampson’s words, ”She is also your mother.”

Jane Sampson was taken aback for a moment, then stuck out her tongue, ”Yes, she is our mother. I misspoke just now.”

Listening to Jane Sampson quickly correcting herself, James Black just uttered a low ”hmm.”

In fact, besides looking at photos, he could still remember what his mother looked like. But his mother’s passing had been so long ago that he couldn’t recall the feeling of being held in her arms.

But, James Black thought, if his mother were still alive, Jane might be a little happier.

His mother would certainly be a gentle figure, surely capable of filling the maternal love Jane Sampson lacked.

After chatting for about ten minutes on the phone, Jane Sampson was urged by James Black to take a bath, as she had work to do tomorrow.

Jane Sampson stayed in the southland for three days, and on the fourth day, she boarded the airplane back to the Capital Province with James Carter. Both were low-key by nature, and their schedule had always been kept secret, not even letting the fans know about it. Therefore, after getting off the airplane, they were not besieged by fans and left the airport smoothly.

Jane Sampson handed her luggage to Harry Little Money, instructing him to take it home first, while she and Coco Edwards boarded James Carter’s car.

A few days ago, Jane Sampson had originally planned to have a meal with Old Young and James Carter together, but later Gwendolyn Young invited her to the Carter Family as a guest, and Old Young happened to have something to deal with, so the meal was postponed to today in the Capital Province.

The location was set by Old Young. When Jane Sampson and James Carter arrived at the doorway, someone led them into the private room.

Old Young was lounging there, casually drinking from a water cup. Upon seeing Jane Sampson and James Carter, he raised a hand to wave at them. After finishing his drink, he said, ”You’re here~”

After speaking, Old Young looked at Jane Sampson as she walked in, clicking his tongue, ”You look like you’re about to disappear from thinness.”

”It’s not that exaggerated~” Jane Sampson found it infinitely amusing and sat down.

She actually wanted to gain weight, but it just wasn’t possible. Every day she was as busy as a spinning top, and maintaining her current body weight was already quite difficult.

Moreover, for the new drama, to portray the female lead well, Jane Sampson couldn’t afford to gain weight in the near term, as the female lead in the new drama was a slim yet musically powerful girl.

Since they were old friends, after sitting down, Jane Sampson didn’t stand on ceremony with Old Young. She picked up the menu and ordered the dishes she wanted, then passed the menu to James Carter, while asking Old Young, ”Why have you been flying everywhere recently?”

”Yes, indeed flying everywhere, very busy.” Old Young waved his hand, then glanced at James Carter before looking back at Jane Sampson and saying, ”I was involved in the review of the web drama ’The President’s Wife is Not Human.’ To be honest, although Jillian Carter is your younger sister, I still have to say, Jillian Carter really lacks both talent and spirit in acting.”

”I know.” This point didn’t need Old Young to say; James Carter was already keenly aware of it.
