CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1766: Chapter 1774: Where’s My Lunch?

Jane Sampson wasn’t in the dormitory, and James Black, noticing the empty room, had no desire to stay.

He picked up Jane Sampson’s mobile phone and placed it in the study, thinking he would return it to her in the evening. After putting it there, he carried the packed meal back to the office.

The meals couldn’t be wasted; he had to keep them for the evening to reheat and eat.

Then, James Black grabbed the lunch he had packed for Jane Sampson and left.

Yep, he left.

Meanwhile, Jane Sampson, who was out grocery shopping and forgot about the time, hadn’t realized she left her mobile phone behind, completely unaware that her lunch...

Yep, was gone.

Because she was preparing for a livestream in the evening, Jane Sampson had made a trip to a farther supermarket to buy some beautiful bone china. After purchasing everything, she returned to the car and was about to check the time on her mobile phone when she suddenly remembered she had left it on the bed when she was changing clothes.

So, she didn’t bring her mobile phone with her.

Jane Sampson glanced at the time displayed on the car’s electronic system and was taken aback.

It’s already half past one?

If James Black returned home and found she wasn’t there and couldn’t contact her, wouldn’t he explode on the spot?

Thinking of this, Jane Sampson hurriedly started the car and drove back to the guard team without delay.

She returned home forty minutes later, and by this time, even if James Black had come back for a nap, he would have left.

Jane Sampson searched the entire dormitory for her lunch but didn’t find it; instead, she found her mobile phone in James Black’s study.

So, this guy got so mad that he hid her phone.

He’s so angry that he didn’t let her have lunch?

How mad must he be to not even let her have a meal?

Jane Sampson sat on the sofa with her mobile phone, wailing — an angry Chief isn’t easy to appease.

Jane Sampson stared blankly at her mobile phone for a few minutes, thought about it, then opened WhatsAPP, clicked on James Black’s avatar, and let out a soft hum before sending him a message.

James Black, where’s my lunch? [Pleading][Crying][Sad][Pouting]—James Black’s wife.

Jane Sampson thought that at this moment, only acting pitiful might work a little bit.

I’m so hungry~ [Tummy’s empty~]—James Black’s wife.

After sending these two messages, Jane Sampson waited nervously for James Black’s response.

If he could still reply, even if just with a ”haha”, it would mean he wasn’t that angry.

If he didn’t reply at all, it would mean he was either busy or too angry to bother with her.

Jane Sampson sighed, clutching her mobile phone, knowing she wasn’t intentionally not taking her phone, missing his calls, or ignoring him when she went out. He could be angry, for a while, but he couldn’t just keep ignoring her, right?

Jane Sampson held onto this thought, waiting for James Black to reply.

But the wait was so long that her stomach started to growl, and she still didn’t see any message from James Black.

Annoyed, she went into the kitchen to cook something for herself, mumbling that luckily she bought a lot of ingredients. Even though James Black didn’t leave her lunch, she could still make her own.

Just as she was busy in the kitchen, her mobile phone rang.

It was James Black calling.

Jane Sampson quickly shook the water off her hands and answered the call, softly saying ”Hello,” and taking the initiative with a pitiful tone, ”Where’s my lunch? Didn’t you say you’d bring it from the dining hall? Why did I search the whole house and still couldn’t find my lunch?”
