CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1631: Chapter 1639: The Doctor Is Here

”Who says other people’s children can’t be nurtured well? Look at how good Jane is to her grandparents. When the elderly couple was still alive, Jane often went back to the countryside to visit them.”

The relative said this and sneaked a glance at Father Sampton and Mother Sampton, ”This child is close to the elderly but not close to her foster father and mother. You can’t blame the child for being ungrateful. Everyone knows Bright Sampton’s mother hasn’t paid much attention to the children since they were young. She hardly stays at home and is always with a group of people either playing cards, shopping, or going out traveling for ten days or half a month. The children are all taken care of by the elderly.”

”Her dad.” Another person shook his head talking about Father Sampton, ”Since Julie Sampton returned to the Sampton Family, he thought the marriage alliance with the Black Family was good and wanted to replace Jane Sampson with Julie Sampton to marry into the Black Family. But the Black Family has sharp eyes. With just one look at these sisters, they know who is good and who isn’t. Changing marriage arrangements is indeed hurtful.”

”Exactly, I’ve also heard that the company shares given as dowry to Jane by the elderly couple have all been taken back by her dad. Now Jane doesn’t have a single share of the Sampton Clan in her hands. No wonder Jane has to do filming to make money. Otherwise, without making money, wouldn’t she have to ask her husband for money if she wants to spend? Young girls nowadays really don’t do such things.”

”Is such a thing possible? The things given as dowry by the elderly couple being taken back by the father, how can he have the face to do such a thing? As far as I know, Julie Sampton has quite a lot of company shares under her name. Sigh, as parents, the way they treat their biological daughter and foster daughter is indeed different. No matter what, Jane was raised by them from childhood. Even if not biological, they’ve developed feelings. How can things be done so ruthlessly? Taking away the shares given by the grandparents, isn’t that like driving Jane out of the house?”

The relatives weren’t aware of these whispers, neither was the Sampton Family. James Black had been watching over Jane in the room for a long time. It had been almost an hour since she took antipyretics, but there was no sign of the fever subsiding, making him increasingly anxious.

Just when James was about to call the private doctor again to urge him, Bright Sampton pushed the door open and came in, saying, ”Brother-in-law, the doctor is here.”

Bright Sampton hurriedly brought the doctor in, ”Doctor, please quickly check my sister. She has a fever and her body is very hot. An hour ago, she took antipyretic medicine, but it had no effect.”

”Let me see,” the doctor asked another question, ”Have you measured her body temperature?”

”Not yet, the thermometer in the house was accidentally broken recently,” Bright Sampton shook his head.

The doctor acknowledged with a hum and took out a thermometer to measure the body temperature of Jane lying in the bed.

This measurement directly frightened the doctor.

”39.8,” the doctor frowned, ”Did you really give her antipyretics?”

”We did. Right after we called you, we gave it to her. It’s been more than an hour since she took it,” Bright Sampton nodded repeatedly. Seeing the temperature, he was stunned, ”So high? No wonder she didn’t respond when we talked to her. She looks completely out of it.”

”Do you know how long the fever has been going on?” the doctor asked.

However, this question left James Black and Bright Sampton unable to answer. They both didn’t know when Jane started to fall ill.

It’s possible she began to have a fever at midnight last night and it got serious this morning.
