CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 782: Chapter 790: My Decision

”Sure, sure! Goddess Sampton, I won’t say a thing!” the boy nodded repeatedly, then continued, ”There’s no mistake, this is the address on the order. But Goddess Sampton, you’re so kind to consider someone insignificant like me and my job. You’re really too kind, thank you.”

The boy had already shoved the flowers into Jane Sampson’s arms, then immediately took the delivery notebook and pen out of his fanny pack and said, ”Please sign to confirm receipt.”

Jane Sampson was somewhat at a loss holding the flowers, knowing well that no one would send her any. But the boy had already pushed them into her arms, and Jane even began to worry whether her whereabouts had been leaked, with some crazy fan confirming her residence like this.

Jane instinctively looked towards James Black, casting him a pleading gaze.

James had already stepped towards her, saw her almost submerged by the flowers, and couldn’t help but curl up the corners of his mouth and chuckle. After having his laugh, he finally spoke, ”Go ahead and sign, they’re from me.”

Just six words, and they stupefied Jane Sampson.

The appearance of James Black and his one sentence first bewildered Jane Sampson, then stunned the boy.

The boy was frozen for quite a few seconds, then whispered to Jane Sampson, ”See, I told you it wasn’t a mistake, right?”

Jane came back to her senses, set the bouquet on the ground, quickly signed for it, then signed her own name on the white notebook the boy handed over. After asking the boy not to spread the word, and once the boy had walked far enough away, she immediately closed the door.

After the boy had left, Jane bent down again, and picked up the bouquet that was several times wider than her body.

A woman who seemed too frail, at this moment, had an exceptionally strong burst of strength.

She stubbornly held onto the flowers that seemed so heavy, looking down at the bouquet before her, a smile slowly blooming across her soft face.

”How did you suddenly think to send me flowers?” Jane asked, her face the picture of bashfulness, ”It’s not a holiday or anything, how did you think to send me flowers?”

After asking, Jane stealthily glanced at the man standing before her.

So, had she been envying herself all this while?

Had the man she just now disliked for being as dull as a piece of wood surprised her in the blink of an eye with such a grand gesture?

At this time, Jane had already forgotten that she was still angry with James, let alone remembering her claim that being angry would have serious consequences.

”Do you like them?” This was the first time James pretended not to know the answer.

From Jane’s facial expressions and the fact she was initiating conversation, James already knew the answer.

She liked them.

And obviously, very much so.

James thought, perhaps, he wouldn’t need the thing Alexander Forest had prepared after all.

His young wife was easier to please than he’d imagined.

Such a soft and delicate little creature.

”Just a little bit,” Jane said coyly, holding back a smile.

”Heh.” So James knew all along, when it comes to saying one thing and meaning another, Jane still scored an off-the-charts 120%.

Knowing James was teasing, Jane didn’t look upset in the slightest. She stood there foolishly smiling with the flowers in her arms, bending down to sniff them, gently brushing the petals with her hand, then suddenly looked up at James and asked, ”Do you want to count and see if there are exactly 999 roses here?”

James shook his head and asked, ”Are they not heavy to hold?”

In fact, all along, James thought he had ordered 99 roses.

That saying on the internet, ’Buy only the most expensive ones,’ James remembered it well.

So when he went to the online store, he just clicked on the option ranked by price, without much thought and directly chose the most expensive to place the order. He didn’t expect there would be a bouquet of 999 roses.

In James’s mind, he hadn’t considered that a flower shop could have a bunch of 999 roses, just as he didn’t understand, when a man sends 999 roses to a woman, had he not considered whether the woman could even hold them?

Jane instinctively shook her head, took a step forward, and leaned her body slightly to one side, probably not wanting James to make fun of her. She then seriously told James, ”It’s... not too heavy.”
