CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 780: Chapter 788: I am not as good as you

”I need these items prepared as soon as possible, and it would be best if you could purchase them within today and then bring them to me. Once you’ve delivered the stuff, you can leave immediately; there’s neither tea nor a meal for you here.” — James Black.

Alexander Forest hadn’t returned to Capital Province yet. With a rare holiday at hand, he frequented the pub every night until the early hours, then slept until midday the next morning. Therefore, at this time, Alexander hadn’t even gotten up yet, but upon hearing his mobile phone beep with a text message, out of a sense of responsibility for his work and company, Alexander still reached out and took a look.

Unexpectedly, after reading it, Alexander felt wide awake in an instant.

Why the hell am I being ordered around without even being offered a cup of tea!!! — Alexander Forest.

Also, this necklace from BG’s, how could I possibly get it for you within a day? Is there even a specialty counter for this brand here? And the styled you mentioned is a new season limited edition, do you get it? Without a prior reservation, who knows when it can be bought? — Alexander Forest.

Is it just a Valentine’s Day gift? Isn’t a jade hairpin worth almost ten million enough? Why do you need so many things? — Alexander Forest.

James Black, you really are something. Sometimes you’re quiet, sometimes flashy, and when you are flamboyant, I’m no match for you! — Alexander Forest.

Alexander’s text messages kept coming in one after another, James Black’s phone kept buzzing, he checked each one, but didn’t reply to any of them.

If it’s hard to buy, then that’s just right.

If it was easy to get, I wouldn’t need him. These troublesome tasks should be given to someone who talks too much and causes trouble!

If Alexander hadn’t blabbed about going to the auction event, Jane Sampson wouldn’t have gotten angry at all.

Upon hearing the kitchen door open, James Black swiftly pushed his mobile phone back to its original spot and then sat up straight on the sofa.

Only after hearing the sound of Jane placing the dish in the dining hall did James turn his head to glance at Jane, unsurprisingly, she didn’t spare him a look.

Before the pre-ordered flowers arrived, James didn’t bother Jane again, sitting upright, keeping his back straight, and staring at her intently until she returned to the kitchen. Then he slowly withdrew his gaze and let it fall upon the darkened mobile phone screen.

A few seconds later, James stood up and walked in front of the window, staring out for a few seconds, then furrowed his eyebrows.

So slow.

James inwardly complained.

Unlike James’s seemingly calm exterior but anxious interior, Jane, inside the kitchen, was in quite a good mood.

Just now, to see what James was doing in the living room, she had carried a plate of vegetables out on purpose. Seeing James sitting rigidly on the sofa looking foolish, she almost broke character and laughed outright.

Still, she thought it was too undignified to reconcile with him just because he sent a few WhatsApp messages urging her to come home.

After all, it was her who had given James a piece of her mind yesterday.

She told James that she was angry and that the consequences would be severe.

Jane secretly muttered to herself that she would wait a little longer, until the afternoon, until he couldn’t help but call for her again.

Since it was just the two of them, to avoid eating cold food and not waste any, Jane only made two dishes and one soup, one meat and one vegetable.

After all the food was on the table, Jane finally took off her apron, probably having figured out that James wouldn’t call him to eat, so James walked over to sit by her side.
