CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 754: Chapter 762: What Festival

James Black leaned over to glimpse the numbers on Jane Sampson’s mobile phone calculator, and in one look, he memorized even the numbers after the decimal point crystal clear.

”How much do you plan to donate to the charity dinner?” James Black’s question covered a wide range of topics, and it took Jane a few seconds to scratch her head before she started to speak.

”Sister Tin just talked to me about the donation amount. Sister Tin’s advice for me was to donate either 100,000 or 200,000—not too low, but also not to donate too much at once. I thought about it and decided to donate 200,000.”

James Black nodded lightly, then quickly performed the simplest subtraction problem in his heart.

Seeing James Black staring at her silently, Jane’s heart skipped a beat, and she stepped back twice in quick succession.

”I’m warning you, don’t pull the same old trick on me. If you take my money for financial management again and only leave me two bucks, I will definitely get angry.”

Jane saw that James Black’s expression didn’t even change, so to emphasize the conviction in her words, she stamped her foot, ”Don’t take my words for granted. When I get angry, the consequences are severe.”

”How severe?” James Black scoffed as he threw the question back.

Jane actually took it seriously and thought for a moment, then said, ”I will ignore you until the financial management is over.”

Which meant, if he used her money to buy two months of financial products, she would ignore him for two months. If he bought two years, she dared to ignore him for two years.

”Hmm,” James Black nodded.

What does ’hmm’ mean?

Did he understand, or did he not care at all?

James Black leaned back silently for a few seconds, then finally moved a bit, taking two steps toward Jane until he was nearly close enough to touch her before stopping.

”It seems like you especially don’t want to use my money?” James Black had noticed this long ago, from after their marriage to many years later, that the card he left at home for Jane to use had not been touched by her at all these years.

”Why?” What puzzled James Black was this issue, ”It’s a wife’s right to use her husband’s money. And a husband making money to support his family is a duty.”

If it weren’t for him pressing the issue this time, Jane might never have touched his stuff.

”Why so many whys?” Jane’s eyes drifted down from James Black’s face to her own toes.

”I have my own money; I can just use mine.” Jane kicked her toes a bit, ”I carry my own cards with me, and when I go out, I just use my own card to pay. It’s convenient.”

James Black raised his eyebrows, finding her answer barely acceptable.

”Alright.” James Black curved the corners of his mouth, agreed with a sound, then bowed to kiss Jane on the forehead before asking, ”Do you know what holiday it is in ten days?”

”What holiday?” Jane looked bewildered.

Then her brain started racing.

What holiday is it in ten days?

Their wedding anniversary?

No, she and James Black got married in winter, on December 3rd. Even his mobile phone unlock password was still set to that.

So what exactly is the holiday in ten days?

James Black saw Jane pondering so hard, and then he gave her the answer.

”Our nation’s traditional Valentine’s Day, Chinese Valentine’s Day,” James Black said, ”I will prepare a Valentine’s Day gift for you, so Jane Sampson, that day, I also want to see the gift you’ve prepared for me.”

???

!!!

Are men nowadays so brazen in asking for a Valentine’s Day gift?

Since when did James Black start celebrating Valentine’s Day?

Jane had never celebrated Valentine’s Day for as long as she’d been well-grown, so truly, she had no concept of traditional Valentine’s Day in her mind.
