CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 492: Chapter 500: I’ve Been Thinking About You Guys

Jane Sampson quietly glanced at James Black and saw that he was seriously driving. Jane Sampson quietly pursed her lips, then reached for the water bottle next to him.

”What? Planning to spit in it to vent your frustration?” James Black’s voice suddenly rang out, startling Jane Sampson so much that she nearly lost her grip on the bottle.

”We’ve kissed enough times, so I wouldn’t mind a bit of your saliva.” James Black’s lips curled up slightly, clearly in a good mood.

”I’m not as disgusting as you think!” Jane Sampson said angrily, tempted to smack him on the forehead with his water bottle, ”I’m just thirsty and wanted to drink!”

Spitting in a bottle? Would someone like Jane Sampson with her standards ever do such a thing?

If she really wanted to get even, she’d add something like vinegar or tea into the bottle.

To prove that she really wanted to drink water, Jane Sampson unscrewed the bottle and drank the remaining half-bottle of water in one go. Meeting James Black’s gaze as he looked back at her, she shook the empty bottle at him, smugly placing the empty bottle back in its spot.

Just as James Black said, they’ve kissed countless times, so a thirsty person wouldn’t fuss over the bottle being halfway drunk by him.

At 6 o’clock, the car stopped in front of the familiar courtyard, and before even getting out, Jane Sampson saw the grandparents supporting each other as they walked out from the courtyard.

”Grandpa! Grandma!”

Jane Sampson called out from in the car, not waiting for James Black, she got out and ran straight to the elderly couple, hugging them, ”I’ve missed you so much!”

”You’ve lost weight, our Jane is thinner,” Grandpa Sampton patted Jane Sampson’s hand and then her head, ”Are you not eating well?”

”Is filming too hard on you?” asked Granny Sampton with concern, seeing Jane had lost weight, ”Drink more chicken soup tonight. It’s home-raised and very nourishing!”

James Black parked the car and walked over, watching Jane Sampson cling to the elderly couple and coquettishly making them happy with a few words. He stood by, watching.

He’d said she was indeed a person who loves to be coddled, yet she stubbornly denied it.

”Come inside, come inside, meals are ready, and we’ve been waiting just for you two,” called Grandpa Sampton to James Black, then entered the courtyard amidst the joyful laughter of Jane and Granny Sampton.

Although it was a rural courtyard, the house was decorated more neatly and brightly than the average farmhouse, and sure enough, steaming hot dishes were already laid out on the table.

”Your grandpa and I just finished setting the meals and were thinking of going out to see if you had arrived. Just as we reached the doorway, here you came!” Granny Sampton happily handed bowls and chopsticks to Jane Sampson and James Black, ”It’s been a while since you two came to the grandparents’ for a meal, hasn’t it?”

”Mmm, James has been very busy,” Jane defended James, then took a sip of the chicken soup Grandpa Sampton had served her and smiled, ”Maybe I shouldn’t have called him to come along, then I could have eaten more by myself.”

”When we have time later, I’ll bring Jane here more often,” James spoke up.

From the moment Jane Sampson stepped out of the car, James Black could feel that the joy she had returning here, compared to returning to the Black Family, was a different kind of happiness.

In front of the grandparents, Jane Sampson could be unabashedly coddled and capricious, as relaxed and comfortable as if she truly was back home.

James Black had never seen her snuggling in Granny Sampton’s arms, nor her looking so relaxed and unguarded, which he could only see at this time.
