CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 480: Chapter 488: A Pleasant Meal

Upon hearing James Black grunt in response, Jane Sampson quickly ended the call and tossed her mobile phone back onto the bedhead cabinet before lying back down.

She had thought that after dealing with James Black’s phone call, she could sleep soundly until daybreak.

However, she had underestimated just how fussy the Patriarch Black could be.

Forty minutes later, the doorbell to Jane Sampson’s room rang, and she woke up once again, somewhat irritated as she went to open the door.

”Miss Jane, this is the dinner your husband ordered for you.”

Two waiters stood at the doorway, and while Jane Sampson was in a daze, they walked past her into the room and placed the dining plates and tableware they were carrying onto the table inside the room.

”Madam, after you have finished your meal, you can call our customer service phone, and someone will come up to clean up the tableware and the table,” said the waiter before retreating back to the door, courteously, ”Enjoy your meal.”

With that, the waiter closed the door behind Jane Sampson and left.

???

!!!!

Jane Sampson was left standing there, her face a picture of shock.

The person who had agreed so readily seemed to have a backup plan all along!

Despite the distance between them, James Black still insisted on managing whether she ate her dinner or not!

Just as Jane Sampson was standing at the door in a daze, her mobile phone rang again; it was a WhatsAPP video call request.

Jane Sampson leaned over to take a look, accepted the call from James Black, and upon seeing his face on the mobile phone screen—the face of the man who interrupted her sleep twice—she felt an urge to spit saliva all over his face!

”Go eat your dinner,” James Black’s voice came through faintly from the phone.

Jane Sampson’s little face crinkled, then she moved next to the table, picked up the chopsticks and waved them at the phone’s lens, then bent her head down to take a few bites of food, mumbling indistinctly, ”I’m eating, I’m eating!”

Then she swiftly ended the video call; the next second, she put the chopsticks back on the table, propped her hands and looked at the spread on the table, taking a big breath.

Well, this annoying dinner smelled pretty good.

On a deeper breath, it really did smell incredibly good.

It was ordered according to her tastes; it would have been strange if it didn’t smell good.

Jane Sampson sniffed her nose and thought since she was already awake, maybe she should eat a little bit?

Jane Sampson, who initially planned to eat just a little bit, ended up eating all the dishes on the table by the time she put her chopsticks down. She patted her round belly and could not help but sigh.

It seemed that James Black was maliciously intentional; he must be trying to fatten her up so she would become too heavy to appear on camera, unable to take on any roles, and would have to obediently return home.

Jane Sampson then took a photo of the empty plate and called room service to take it away.

She directly sent the photo of the empty plate to James Black afterward.

His reply came surprisingly fast.

Did you topple over? — Jane Sampson’s Mr.Black.

Unable to hold back, Jane Sampson burst into laughter. In James Black’s eyes, was she that type of person?

I’ve eaten it all. — James Black’s Mrs.Black.

But! I will definitely not get fat! — James Black’s Mrs.Black.

Your evil plan will not succeed! — James Black’s Mrs.Black.

I will surely become a big star that everyone admires! — James Black’s Mrs.Black.

James Black, among the guard team, seeing the stream of messages coming from Jane Sampson, immediately pictured in his mind Jane Sampson’s animated and self-assured expression, her tiny tail wagging triumphantly.

”Heh, really a cute girl.”
