CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 396: Chapter 404: Don’t Tell Him

After all, for a man who could almost be called emotionally stoic to be giving her gifts was already surprising enough, and if he were to write such an explicit declaration of love on the gift, she would truly begin to worry if James Black’s brain had gone bad.

Just like Daniel Taylor, was there something growing inside his head?

After receiving James Black’s response, Jane Sampson took the lipstick out of the makeup cabinet again; it was one thing to see it in a photo, but to see it in reality was another.

In reality, those three words were not as inconspicuous as in the photo where, because the diamonds reflected light, they seemed somewhat hidden. But holding the actual object and turning it around, one would still notice them.

She could only say that just now when she had it in hand, she was so excited and busy trying out the color that she hadn’t looked at the lipstick carefully.

Perhaps because he found Chinese characters to be mysterious and beautiful, so these three words were specially engraved in Chinese. Compared to other engravings, it seemed, there was an additional sense of frankness.

Jane Sampson couldn’t help but curl the corners of her mouth in amusement, wondering what kind of expression James Black would have if he knew what was engraved on the lipstick he gave her.

Would he take the lipstick back?

So, it was better not to tell him.

When James Black came out of the bathroom, Jane Sampson had already finished drying her hair and was in the bed playing games. After a round of games where Peter Gingery had foiled her to the point of losing her temper, she heard the sound of the bathroom door opening, glanced over, and then refocused on her mobile phone. ”Don’t bring your mobile phone into the bathroom when you take a bath, the steam will damage it,” James Black stood next to her and said.

”Umm...” Jane Sampson replied nonchalantly, and then, upon hearing the sound of the hairdryer starting up next to her, she couldn’t help but snicker and stuff her mobile phone under the pillow. Turning her head, she gave James Black a sly look.

”Is something wrong?” Jane Sampson’s gaze was too obvious. Even if James Black wanted to ignore it, he couldn’t.

”Nothing,” Jane Sampson shook her head, watching James Black put away the hair dryer and get into bed, before voluntarily scooting over to make room for him.

”What were the words on the lipstick again?” James Black turned his head to look at Jane Sampson’s face. ”What words were there?”

”Nothing much, just the brand logo... I guess.” Jane Sampson blinked at James Black, then scratched at the quilt to cover half her face, concealing the smile at the corner of her mouth, and with her fingers only half showing, waved at James Black, ”It’s very late, let’s sleep, no more talking.”

James Black let out a silent scoff in his heart. One ”I guess,” if it weren’t delivered so guiltily, he might have believed her.

He remained seated, his gaze still on Jane Sampson’s face, and by now, her eyes were still smiling.

Although he didn’t know why she was smiling, one thing was certain: she was in a good mood at this time.

James Black pulled up the quilt and reached out to embrace the person just a few centimeters away in his arms, then in one swift move, rolled on top of her without saying anything superfluous and bent down to kiss her.

The moment she had put on lipstick and puckered her lips asking him if she looked good, he wanted to hold her and kiss her like this.

But then, he had to restrain himself, otherwise, she would surely dodge.

And now, there was no need for restraint, and at this moment, she was already in his arms, with no excuses to evade.

Perhaps having grown accustomed to James Black’s frequent embraces, Jane Sampson didn’t react at all when James Black reached out for her, and when his kiss landed, she, so used to being kissed by him, felt it too.
