CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 365: Chapter 373: Husband and Wife Together

”Mom,” James Carter felt surprised, not expecting that picking up Jane Sampson from the airport could also mean running into his mother. Seeing that his mother had already turned her attention to Jane, he introduced her, ”Mom, this is Jane Sampson, the MV female lead for my new single and also an actor from Capital Province.”

”Auntie, hello,” Jane said sweetly with a smile toward James Carter’s mother, ”You look so young; you don’t look like Mr. Carter’s mother at all, more like a sister.”

Mother Carter maintained herself well; even though she was wearing a mask, her skin, visible at the corners of her eyes, was pale and showed no obvious crow’s feet.

So, Jane’s complimentary words were not deliberately flattery, at least, without hearing James Carter call her mom, Jane would not have guessed their relationship.

Moreover, looking at the half-face that Mother Carter revealed, Jane felt she looked somewhat familiar.

”Haha, little miss, what a sweet mouth you have,” Mother Carter was over the moon with Jane’s words, she took Jane’s hand and patted it, then said, ”If you’re free at noon, come over to our house for a meal. I’m really good at cooking, I’ll cook for you myself.”

Mother Carter turned to James Carter and said, ”That’s settled then, you’ll bring Jane home for lunch. Lannie and I will go to southern city to buy some fresh vegetables. I don’t know if your dad is free to come home at noon; on such an important day, maybe I should call him back.”

After speaking, Mother Carter left in a flurry, not expecting her son to send her off, leaving Jane Sampson behind with a feeling that Mother Carter might have misunderstood something.

Why is this such an important day?

Touching the tip of her nose, Jane covertly looked at James Carter. Seeing that he remained silent, she thought perhaps she was overthinking.

Meanwhile, having left the airport and gotten into the car, Mother Carter turned to her assistant and asked a particularly gossipy question.

”Lannie, don’t you think James and that girl just now look like a married couple? When they stand together, they match so well. It’s rare for James to be this age and still get close to a girl. Is this the first time he’s brought a girl home? The meaning is different this time.”

”Now that you mention it, Young Master James does look like he has that husband and wife resemblance with Miss Sampson,” Lannie pondered hard before saying, ”Especially their eyes, they seem to match, so perhaps this is what they call the look of husband and wife.”

”That’s wonderful!” Mother Carter was very excited. ”Since James’s leg injury, he hasn’t made any new friends for a long time, and he’s even more reluctant to get close to the opposite sex, like he’s keeping a distance of 100,000 miles, always using not wanting to delay a girl’s lifetime as an excuse.”

The two of them chattered about this all the way, and on the other side, after Elizabeth King came out with her luggage, Jane also got into the car from James Carter’s Studio.

Due to Mother Carter’s sudden arrival, the plans of Jane and Elizabeth were disrupted.

To prevent Mother Carter from being disappointed and wasting her efforts, Jane and Elizabeth stopped by the hotel to drop off their luggage first and then immediately followed James Carter to the Carter Family home.

The Carter Family home was located in the heart of Springtown city centre; in such a land where every square inch was worth its weight in gold, owning such a villa hinted at the family’s solid wealth.

”We’re here. Please have a seat or take a look around; I’ll go to the kitchen and start cooking.” Because she went separately to buy groceries, Mother Carter arrived not much earlier than James Carter and the others.

Upon entering the door, Mother Carter had already removed her mask and hat; Jane glanced forward and then stood frozen in place, flabbergasted.

”You... You are...” Jane rubbed her eyes, falling into self-doubt, ”Am I seeing things?”
