CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 370: Chapter 378: Quietly Alone

Jane Sampson could understand James Black’s mood. If she had specifically asked someone to call her after landing to check in and she waited anxiously for their call based on their flight’s arrival time, but that wait prolonged into the evening, dinner was done, and she still hadn’t received that call.

Truthfully, in such a situation, anyone would start to worry.

And when finally she made a call herself, only to learn that the other party had forgotten, even Jane Sampson would be angry.

It gave off the feeling that she wasn’t on their mind, that her words were not taken seriously.

Jane Sampson held her mobile phone and pondered for a few seconds. James Carter walked over, saw her frowning face, and asked, ”What’s wrong?”

”Someone’s angry,” Jane rubbed her cheek. ”He asked me to call him after I got off the plane, but I forgot. He hung up on me, very upset.”

”Someone?” James Carter was confused for a few seconds before realizing, ”Are you referring to someone, your husband?”

”Hmm,” Jane Sampson nodded with her mobile phone in hand and then asked, ”When you boys get angry, how do you generally need to be appeased to not be so upset?”

James Carter was stumped by Jane Sampson’s question for a while, then shook his head. ”I don’t know.”

James Carter was not one to get angry often, let alone have the experience of being angry with a girl, so despite his age, he really didn’t have any good advice to offer Jane Sampson on this matter.

”Hmm, all right, first let him be alone to cool off, right?” Jane Sampson put away her mobile phone, feeling that her idea was quite clever.

It’s hardest to appease someone when they are at the peak of their anger.

Yes, that’s right.

A piece of wisdom.

So, James Black needed to be left alone to calm down properly.

James Carter thought about it and nodded, ”It seems to make sense.”

Feeling affirmed, Jane Sampson smiled even sweeter.

”Mr. Carter, thank you, and your uncles and aunts for the hospitality today. The car I called is at the doorway now, so I’ll be leaving. Mr. Carter, please don’t see me out, see you tomorrow!”

Because it was difficult for James Carter to walk, Jane Sampson did not ask him to escort her to the doorway. After saying goodbye without waiting for James Carter to respond, she ran out, carrying her small bag and putting on her shoes. Once seated in the car, and turning to look outside through the car window, she saw James Carter with his cane having reached the doorway; only then did Jane Sampson roll down the window and wave.

”Mr. Carter, no need to come out, I’m off.” Jane yelled out to James Carter, then told the driver to drive.

James Carter was a man meticulous with etiquette, so even though Jane Sampson said he didn’t need to send her out, he would still come. Jane was worried that the longer she lingered at the door, the more James would come out.

She knew that James Carter needed to rest now, because while she was on the phone with James Black just now, she saw James Carter frowning and surreptitiously massaging his foot.

After the car reached the hotel, Jane Sampson greeted Elizabeth King in the next room then went back to her own. Upon returning to the room, she took out her mobile phone and calculated the time it took for her to get back to the hotel from James Carter’s home.

Half an hour.

It seemed quite fast.

She wondered if half an hour was enough time for James Black to have calmed down.

If she called him again, would he block her as he did before?

Contemplating this possibility, Jane Sampson decided to first try reaching out through WhatsApp.
