I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1243: Chapter 1242: Desan Arrives

Desan’s appearance in the small courtyard was drastically different, gone was his former carefree and laughing image. At this moment, there wasn’t the slightest hint of expression on his face, let alone a smile. Luo Yirui even had a delusion that this was two different people.

However, he knew that this person was Grandpa Desan.

This time, coming out here, Luo Yirui thought he would experience life and death, but he hadn’t expected not only to go through life and death but also to possess many complex emotions. That feeling of being torn sometimes left him unsure of what to do.

Especially upon seeing Grandpa Desan here, knowing his real name is Nie Yunde, his heart felt heavier than ever before.

Did he go to the small courtyard with a purpose, was he there as an undercover agent, were all those smiles he showed to him and his sisters fake?

These questions had been swirling in Luo Yirui’s mind, and he even had the urge to step up and question him. But he knew doing so would only bring trouble upon himself, for the answer was already predetermined, and he already knew it. This impulse was nothing but his unwillingness.

Desan walked past without looking away or glancing at the group of children in the corner, just like Director Ma, in their minds these children were just experimental subjects. The only thing that might catch their attention was whose data was better or whose attack capability was stronger.

When Director Ma saw Desan, he hurriedly went to meet him.

”At last, you’ve come.” Director Ma said.

Desan was somewhat displeased, ”What’s the rush? There are still twenty minutes.”

”We always need to make preparations, moreover, those fierce and evil-looking ones outside are closing in. If we hadn’t hidden so well, they would have turned us upside down ages ago!” Director Ma’s brows furrowed with a hint of vexation.

This ’factory’ had already existed for six or seven years; everything here was his hard work. Now overnight it was turning to ashes, how could he not feel heartache.

Fortunately, the main person responsible for this incident wasn’t him. The people in the castle were recruited by the family itself; it was because of them that the ’factory’ secrets were leaked and subsequently discovered, leading to the current raid.

Also fortunate that he was always prepared. Seeing the situation turn unfavorable, he could transfer important data.

Desan turned towards the large boxes, with Director Ma close behind him.

Desan arrived at the large boxes, reached out to feel them, but didn’t open them. He turned to look at Director Ma.

Director Ma, of course, understood what he meant, feeling a bit uneasy, ”You see, everything is already packed, just waiting for the car to arrive, and then we can leave. Opening them now would be a bit...”

”A bit what?” Desan frowned, ”I need to know what’s exactly inside there.”

Upon hearing his words, anger flickered in Director Ma’s eyes—is he not trusting him?

He took a deep breath, even if Desan’s status in the Nie Family was somewhat awkward, after all, Desan bore the Nie surname and was the cousin of the current Family Head, belonging to the eldest generation. He decided to endure it.

”Let me open it for you!” Director Ma came beside Desan, slightly blocking the view of the password, reached out to input the password, pressed the fingerprint recognition on the box, and with a ’whoosh’ sound, the box opened, letting out a burst of cold air.

”These are the first results of our research, but they’re not finished products yet.” Director Ma said.

Desan nodded, glancing toward the other boxes, ”Are they all like these?”

Director Ma said, ”Not completely; there are still many paper documents we haven’t had time to enter into the system.”
