I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1220: Chapter 1219: No One Is Obliged to Protect Anyone

A heavy blow to the forehead is the weakness of the Vertical Pupil, this was told to him by Black Coal Ball, but it also told him that only the human form of Vertical Pupil has its weakness at the forehead. As for its own weakness... heh, it doesn’t exist at all!

Luo Yirui looked at the feigning Black Coal Ball and didn’t expose it. Black Coal Ball definitely has weaknesses, but whether it’s the forehead, that is unknown, and he didn’t intend to find out.

It just caught him by surprise that Black Coal Ball would tell him this, it was truly kind. This means Black Coal Ball has truly begun to trust him from the bottom of its heart.

Actually, when Black Coal Ball appeared on the roof, Luo Yirui’s worry disappeared. He knew Black Coal Ball had not betrayed them and hadn’t left either, and upon knowing it blew up the sub-base, he couldn’t help but sigh.

Black Coal Ball harbors resentment towards this place. Knowing that its existence is merely the product of a failed experiment can surely cause anyone to feel bad.

Luo Yirui swiftly solved two Vertical Pupils using the same method, leaving the two naked boys in the water sluice room dumbfounded.

”You can come with me, but you have to listen to me,” Luo Yirui said to them.

The two boys exchanged glances, quickly stood up, and followed behind Luo Yirui.

”What about the other three?” Luo Yirui asked.

He hadn’t seen the boy who bid him farewell, he remembered that boy was called Jia Xiaoyu.

”We don’t know, we got separated,” one of the boys said.

Luo Yirui didn’t ask further. If he encountered them again, he would help. But he wouldn’t specifically search for those three. One reason being they might not be alive, and another that his time was running out.

Luo Yirui led the two boys upward, Black Coal Ball was bound to take them rushing toward the third building. It also knows how to make them fight each other. However, Black Coal Ball is relatively at some risk; he was a bit uneasy and had to follow to see.

Luo Yirui’s speed was fast. Although the two boys were older than him, they could barely keep up, gasping for breath. If the Vertical Pupils weren’t all lured away, the sound of their breathing might have attracted them.

’Roar’

Suddenly, a Vertical Pupil pounced out from the side door, directly targeting one of the boys. Luo Yirui was caught off guard and turned back to see the boy already pinned to the ground, while the other boy was so scared he collapsed and couldn’t move.

Luo Yirui reacted swiftly, immediately casting a Paralysis Talisman, instantly slowing the Vertical Pupil’s actions, buying him some time to act. He stepped forward in a few strides, kicking the Vertical Pupil’s forehead directly.

The Vertical Pupil had its attention on the boy beneath, having no guard against Luo Yirui, and with its head kicked back at a strange angle, a shadowy mass suddenly darted out.

Luo Yirui was prepared, grabbed a broom for cleaning in the hallway, and swatted the shadow, dispersing it at once.

The boy lay on the ground, hands trembling, unable to stand. He wasn’t injured, just scared out of his wits.

The oldest of these boys was only twelve years old, with those following Luo Yirui around nine to ten years old. At this age, encountering such a situation is normal.

But this normality is not acceptable in these abnormal times.

”Can you still walk? I still need to find my companions,” Luo Yirui said calmly.

If they can’t walk, then they must part ways. There’s no obligation to protect each other; following me means mutual assistance.
