I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1239: Chapter 1238: Favorite

It was easy to reach the staircase, but Luo Yirui didn’t know if they had been monitored just now. If they had, people would likely come soon.

There were few people in the outer building. Luo Yirui and his group climbed the stairs to the fourth floor without seeing anyone. However, they remained alert throughout.

Since they used the staircase consistently, apart from initially being exposed to a camera, they hadn’t been exposed further. They went up to the fourth floor and came back down without seeing a single person!

This was very strange. The outer building had some defense functions; it was unlikely there would be no one here.

”Let’s split into two groups. Zu Yan takes two people, and one will come with me. We’ll split up and search. Don’t overlook any clue,” Luo Yirui said.

They were preparing to search various rooms to find the security chief’s office directly.

The outer building seemed to have some age, and it felt like a school to Luo Yirui – a long corridor with numerous offices on either side.

However, unlike a school, the corridor was very lengthy, but there weren’t many offices, suggesting they were quite large inside.

The security chief’s office was most likely to be on the first or top floor, though they couldn’t rule out the middle floors either. They could only start by searching where it was most probable.

Some rooms were locked while others weren’t. The group split into two teams, first checking the unlocked rooms, which contained some equipment, fitness spaces, or tool storage.

Three rooms were locked, and Luo Yirui had to find a way to open them.

Lurking in the shadows, Luo Xudong sensed the peculiarity of the building and immediately informed Chen Jinliang.

”Check where the people from the outer building at the fourth exit have gone.”

”Understood.”

Although this area was not their main target, there should definitely be people here!

With Luo Xudong taking action here, meanwhile, Luo Yirui finally forcibly smashed open the first door.

Pushing the first door open, rows of controlled knives met their eyes, stored like display pieces in glass cabinets.

Seeing these stylish and sharp blades, Luo Yirui and another boy’s eyes shone!

Most girls like dolls and beautiful things, while most boys prefer things with a certain level of aggression.

Luo Yirui and another boy named Liu Chen approached the glass cabinets, coveting the knives inside.

Luo Yirui tugged at the glass cabinet, finding them locked, which made him frown. Having come so far, it would be a shame not to take one; these were the criminals’ knives, so it shouldn’t be a problem to take them.

Just as Luo Yirui was thinking of ways to open the glass cabinets without triggering an alarm, Liu Chen suddenly shouted, ”Brother Xiao Rui!”

Luo Yirui turned around to see Liu Chen holding a set of keys, showing them with a look of excitement.

Taking a few steps forward, he took the bunch of keys and tried them, discovering they indeed were the keys to the glass cabinets, to which both were delighted.

This incident showed the knives might not have been very significant to those people; despite being locked, the prevention was likely minimal.

The pair attempted to open the glass cabinets, selecting a desired knife to carry with them, then turning to leave.

They couldn’t afford to waste time here.

Just as they exited the door, they saw Little Fatty on the other side frantically waving to them, clearly indicating a major discovery.
