I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1210: Chapter 1209: Blocked In

Following Luo Yirui, there were nine adolescents, while the remaining thirteen or fourteen decided to take the elevator. Both groups had similar numbers, and they looked at each other, hoping they could escape alive.

Among these children, some were ordinary, just with abundant spirit, while others were from the Xuan Medical Family, with the leader being from the Xuan Medical Family, possessing some experience.

Luo Yirui and the others couldn’t claim they had more experience than their counterparts, so they could only bid each other farewell.

Among the nine adolescents following Luo Yirui, four were from the Mystical Medical School or families, all from obscure small families and schools, but also belonging to hidden schools. Capturing these children wouldn’t draw much attention.

This is why the photos on the wall mostly lacked children from prominent hidden schools and large families, except for Hou Baiyu, who was just too special and highly coveted.

This also shows Luo Yirui’s uniqueness!

Fu Xuan Ge glanced at Luo Yirui; he had also seen that photo wall.

Their location was a top-secret area, a ’factory’ focused on scientific research, where Vertical Pupils were produced. The building here resembled a miniature castle, appearing as a cylindrical structure from the outside. The three cylindrical structures were connected by a Sky Bridge, each cylinder about five stories high.

Where Luo Yirui and the others were situated was on the fifth floor; they had to descend to the second floor, and from there, take the Sky Bridge to the third cylindrical structure. This route was a shortcut and somewhat safer inside the building than outside.

At least, that’s what they currently believed.

Within this group of twelve, naturally, Luo Yirui, Fu Xuan Ge, and Little Fatty led the way. The others, having witnessed their battles with Vertical Pupils before, all agreed to follow their leadership.

Unity was crucial at this moment. To escape, they had to work as a team.

Luo Yirui and the others walked down the stairs, which spiraled and were external stairs. Entering them meant entering an independent space, with small windows to the left showing the exterior view of the building.

Luo Yirui leaned against the small window, observing the pitch-dark surroundings below, juxtaposed with brightly lit areas. The chaotic human voices and occasional gunshots came from unknown directions.

The silent, dark mountains resembled dormant beasts, weighing heavily on their hearts. If necessary, they had to escape into the depths of those mountains.

”Let’s go,” Fu Xuan Ge looked back at him.

Luo Yirui nodded, stepping forward downwards. Just after they began descending, the door to the stairwell suddenly swung open, and a Vertical Pupil stood there, with about ten more Vertical Pupils behind.

The group of twelve quickened their pace downward, feeling uncomfortable within this enclosed, independent space. Ideally, they wouldn’t choose this path, but other than this, there was only the elevator.

They deemed the elevator dangerous, as blocking might leave no escape route, leading them to choose this way instead.

Once inside, they realized that if blocked, there was no escape route here either.

Their best bet was to quickly reach the Sky Bridge... but things didn’t go as planned. The adolescent walking at the front cried out in alarm and turned to run back up.

”Run, it’s a Vertical Pupil!”

A kid running behind immediately followed suit, and Luo Yirui and the others understood that if there were only one or two, these adolescents who had battled Vertical Pupils would not flee without fighting!
