I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 1225: Chapter 1224: Inside the Warehouse

Luo Yirui led this team, with Little Fatty, the two teenagers he had saved, and another teenager who had been following them all along, making a total of five people.

They moved through the darkness, specifically seeking out shadows, but the buildings were not interconnected, so there were always times when they were exposed in open view.

This was the time they worried most because the fighting wasn’t confined to just the ground level; they could hear battles inside and on top of the buildings.

If the Nie Family discovered them, they definitely wouldn’t let them leave alive, and if other people saw them wearing local clothes and accidentally attacked or killed them, that wouldn’t be ideal.

Luo Yirui felt that the people attacking the Nie Family this time were not many, but they seemed to be elite troops. After all, he knew the Dark Mercenary Corps stationed there were formidable.

His heart stirred as he suddenly thought of his father. Could it be his father?

The thought excited him. If it was his father and his people, that would be wonderful!

The possibility was quite high; from the combat abilities of these people, there did indeed seem to be a resemblance.

His father had mentioned before that one of the Nie Family’s sub-bases had been bombed, and later, it was discovered that Black Coal Ball did it. This meant there was no mysterious force in a surprise attack—only these teenagers who had come in and his father’s people!

The more Luo Yirui thought about it, the more he felt it must be his father’s men. However, they still needed to be cautious before confirming.

This was something he had to verify. If it really was his father’s people, then Uncle Jiang would be saved; if it was just the few of them, escaping would be a great fortune.

But he couldn’t lead these people into danger. It was his fault for realizing it too late, otherwise, he could have assigned them to the other two individuals, and he could have acted alone.

Now it was too late to regret; he could only find a way to lead them to the fourth exit, and then find a way to double back, provided it was confirmed.

”Brother Xiao Rui, look over there!” Little Fatty gently tugged at Luo Yirui.

Luo Yirui followed the direction he pointed, surprisingly spotting several Vertical Pupils!

Perhaps due to numerous encounters and battles with Vertical Pupils, he could tell they were Vertical Pupils just from the way they moved from behind, even without a front view, and it was clear that Little Fatty recognized them too.

”There are five in total, all running into that warehouse!” Little Fatty said.

Vertical Pupils would not gather for no reason; when they gathered, they tended to fight each other, which was why they were separated into separate chambers underground.

Luo Yirui felt something was off and thought for a moment before saying, ”Wait here, I’ll go take a look.”

Little Fatty immediately said, ”I’ll go with you.”

The other three teenagers also expressed their desire to go along; with Luo Yirui and Little Fatty’s combat strength gone, staying here was equally dangerous. They might as well follow them.

The group of five headed towards the warehouse, which was also the direction they needed to go.

Reaching the edge of the warehouse, they immediately hid in the shadows by the base of the wall, observing the surroundings and making sure they weren’t spotted. Luo Yirui signaled them to wait there and edged along the wall toward the warehouse door.

The warehouse door was ajar, not closed, with dim light spilling out, creating a long line in the darkness. Inside the warehouse, a group was being besieged by Vertical Pupils.
