Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1021: Chapter 595: The Unusual Young Master

”Ye’er...” Ye Xuan struggled to drag Luo Ye up, ”You rascal, you’re playing with fire, the consequences are serious, do you know that?”

”Ah?” Luo Ye froze for a moment, then quickly reacted, scrambling to sit up straight, Ye Xuan quickly shielded her head, ”Careful, don’t bump it again!”

”Annoying, who had you grow so tall, wasting fabric and taking up space, hmph, never getting this close to you again, annoying...” A flustered Mou Ye began to ramble aimlessly.

”It’s all my fault, all my fault...” Ye Xuan tenderly stroked her head, ”Come, let me rub it, does it still hurt?”

Luo Ye glared at him fiercely. This bad guy clearly wanted to remind her of the awkward incident earlier — she had asked the same thing earlier and made such a clumsy motion...

”Ye’er...” Ye Xuan called softly, silent for a moment.

”What’s wrong?” Luo Ye tilted her head to glance at him, ”If you have something to say, just say it, mumbling is the most annoying.”

”Nothing.” Ye Xuan rubbed his chin on her cheek, ”Just wanted to call you, it’s getting late, let me take you back.”

The car slowly started and drove out of the mountain pass, Ye Xuan’s expression was calm, but the veins on his large hands gripping the steering wheel were slightly protruding.

”Are you regretting it?” Luo Ye examined him, eyes full of smugness, ”Tell me honestly, are you regretting it?”

”No.” Ye Xuan coughed lightly, corrected himself, ”A... little bit.”

”It’s too late for regrets, next time, you have to propose properly for me to agree, and whether that person proposing is you, is not entirely certain, two and a half years, anything is possible...”

”Ye’er!” Ye Xuan urgently called out, suddenly stopping the car on the side of the road, ”You are not allowed to say things like that, even hypothetically, do you hear me?”

”Why so fierce?” Luo Ye rolled her eyes, ”I hate it the most when people are fierce to me, if you’re really like this, my assumption might very well become a reality.”

”I’m sorry...” Ye Xuan sighed softly, leaning back in the seat, staring straight ahead, silent for a long time.

”It’s not...” Luo Ye poked him in confusion, ”Just a joke, is this necessary? Don’t scare people, please?”

”Ye’er, a few days ago, I chatted with Dad, as we talked, we mentioned past affairs, Dad said, the time he spent with your mom was the happiest of his life, eagerly looking forward to dawn every day, wishing night to fall slower, his heart skittish like holding a little rabbit.

Ultimately not being able to be with your mom was his biggest regret, until I got together with you, he felt, somehow, that heaven had arranged it.

When I told him, that I didn’t want to take away your freedom too early, Dad said something similar to what you just did, so, hearing you say that earlier made me suddenly flustered... I’m sorry!”

”Alright, I won’t joke around randomly anymore.” Luo Ye comfortingly patted him, ”Just now, you advised me not to overthink, and now you’re doing the same.”

”It’s human nature to be anxious and apprehensive, mainly...” Ye Xuan affectionately stroked Luo Ye’s head, ”Mainly, Ye’er is too eye-catching.”

Luo Ye scoffed, ”Are you more eye-catching?”

Ye Xuan laughed, patting her, ”True.”

Luo Ye cozily leaned on his shoulder, ”Let’s both stop overthinking, actually, as long as we hold each other in our hearts, no one can ruin it, unless there’s really a problem with character, otherwise, the demise of feelings mostly stems from oneself, think carefully, isn’t that right?”

Ye Xuan started the car, ”Alright, no more overthinking, taking Ye’er back, right, I have to go to the city tomorrow for a project, not sure if Uncle will give face.”

”That will depend on your skill.” Luo Ye pretended to be serious, patting him, ”Ye, work hard!”

Ye Xuan nodded cooperatively, ”Absolutely, have to work hard for Ye’er.”

Luo Ye smiled and smirked, ”A pair of fools.”

”Where are there such smart fools?”

”Uh...” Luo Ye was about to say something when her phone rang urgently, taking it out and looking, it’s Qu Yue calling, ”Young Master, what’s up?”

”Ye’er, there’s something I want to discuss with you, it’s about the investment Yodani Group and L.L withdrew from last time, should we take part in it?”

”Oh?” Luo Ye was puzzled, ”As far as I know, haven’t the Yu Family and Hang Family already gotten involved, how can we participate?”

Perhaps it’s for balancing with the Ye Family and Wen Family, after Yodan Family and L.L withdrew, the Hang and Yu Families quickly contacted the investment office, wanting to get involved.

Considering the Ye and Wen Families were too conspicuous, Old Master Ye and Old Master Wen discussed and decided not to compete. In the past few days, Hang and Yu were about to sign cooperation deals, how could Qu Yue have a chance to join now?

”The Hang Family withdrew temporarily, they ran into issues with overseas investments, leading to cash flow problems, they had to withdraw,” Qu Yue explained.

”Oh...” Luo Ye smacked her forehead suddenly, ”She remembered, the second son of the Hang Family failed in overseas investment in the electronics industry, causing the Hang Family to fall into a predicament. It was after this incident that the Six Great Families in the country became the Five Great Families. How could she forget this?

”Ye’er, how about it?” Qu Yue asked again.

”Young Master, you decide. You’ve been managing everything of Liangyou. It’s up to you to decide.” Luo Ye quickly said.

”You’re the major shareholder, you can’t just ignore it.” Qu Yue paused and sighed, ”Ye’er, I hope Liangyou is something we all share, do you understand?”

Luo Ye chuckled lightly, ”Is the Young Master protesting against me becoming a hands-off manager? Alright, if you need me to do anything, just let me know.”

”You know I don’t mean it that way. Fu Mo is paying less and less attention here. If you don’t step in, I’ll feel...” After a moment of silence, Qu Yue continued, ”I’ll feel like all my efforts are meaningless.”

”Young Master, I’m sorry.” Luo Ye thought for a moment, ”Where are you now?”

”Office.” Qu Yue said with little enthusiasm.

”I’ll be right over, see you in a bit.” Luo Ye hung up the phone and looked at Ye Xuan, ”Let’s go to Liangyou, the Young Master’s in a bit of a mood.”

Ye thought for a moment, ”It’s good to have Liangyou involved, but given the current situation, Fu Mo might withdraw from Liangyou’s management, and if Ye’er joins the military, they won’t be able to participate practically, so the burden will fall on Qu Yue’s shoulders.

And Qu Yue is the heir of the Qu Family. If it goes on like this, will Uncle Qu and Aunt Qu have objections? So, the immediate priority is to discuss the best solution.

Either let Liangyou merge into the Qu Family, or transfer more shares to Qu Yue so that he can take full charge. That’s my suggestion, Ye’er can consider it.”

”I know.” Luo Ye nodded, ”Compared to the vast industry of the Qu Family, Liangyou is still not comparable. If the Young Master spends all his attention here, it’s normal for uncle and aunt not to be happy, but with the two solutions you mentioned, the Young Master might not agree to either.”

”If Ye’er wants to be involved in management, you’ll have to let Liangyou get more involved in charity; otherwise, it’ll be like a ticking bomb.” Ye Xuan sighed softly, ”The military’s struggles aren’t too intense, but once you start working, it’s different from being in school. Ye’er must be prepared mentally.”

”I understand...” Luo Ye patted him comfortingly, ”Don’t always worry about me. Your current job has more troublesome things.”

”Ye’er, I’ll drop you off at the office area and then head back. With me there, some things might be hard for Qu Yue to say.” Ye Xuan patted Luo Ye’s head, ”You guys have a good talk.”

Luo Ye rubbed her cheek against his hand, ”Mm, thank you.”

”Silly...” Ye Xuan smiled bitterly, saying nothing more.

”I’m sorry...” Luo Ye looked at him with difficulty. The help Qu Yue had given her was a debt she could never repay in her lifetime, so she couldn’t sever ties with Qu Yue. But her relationship with Qu Yue was understandably unsettling for Ye Xuan.

”It’s alright with me, I just feel that there are too many good boys around Ye’er, but matters of the heart shouldn’t involve any concessions.

I’m not jealous, I’m just worried about Ye’er...” Ye Xuan ruffled her hair, ”You’re too sentimental, silly girl. The more people there are who care about you, the harder it will be for you, and I feel for you.”

Hehe...” someone chuckled foolishly, not knowing what to say.

...

Liangyou Office Building.

Qu Yue was sitting behind the desk in a daze, and when he saw Luo Ye come in, his eyes quickly filled with joy: ”Ye’er, you’re here so soon?”

”Yes, I knocked on the door for a long time with no response, so I had to come in myself.” After sitting down, Luo Ye recounted Ye Xuan’s concerns and looked at him seriously, ”Young Master, I know having you do this might not be acceptable to you, but this is how it is. Can you choose a solution, please?”

Qu Yue looked at Luo Ye with concern, ”Ye’er, I’m sorry, did my attitude make you uncomfortable?”

”No.” Luo Ye shook her head, looking at him seriously, ”This is a problem we must face. Solving it sooner rather than later is better. Today is just a trigger for us to face it sooner.”

”I was fine with everything, but just half an hour ago, Fu Mo sent me a fax, deciding to withdraw from Liangyou.” Qu Yue handed the fax to Luo Ye, ”Honestly, seeing this made me feel quite uncomfortable.

Thinking back to when everyone first got involved with Liangyou and looking at it now, I worry that one day Ye’er will send me a fax like this too.”

”Fu Mo wants to reclaim what’s his own, maybe because there’s a funding problem, but knowing his personality, he’d refuse our help, so let him be.” Luo Ye sighed, ”Young Master, don’t worry. Even if I do want to leave, I wouldn’t notify you in this way.”

Qu Yue was startled and stood up abruptly, his eyes full of panic, ”Does Ye’er mean you plan to leave sooner or later?”
