Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 1016: Chapter 593: Hope / Sisters_3

Speaking of beauty, she’s far behind her sister. I really don’t know what Monique sees in her.” She let out a cold ”hmm” and said, ”Why didn’t the car accident ruin her looks? I don’t believe Monique would like an ugly person.”

”Enough, things are as they are now, let’s not waste words. We’re putting in so much effort because we hope that one day Monique will only have eyes for us sisters, right?

If he ever finds out that everything was our scheme, do you think our wish can still come true? Alice, use your brain more.”

Alice lowered her head: ”Got it.”

Lisha turned around: ”Let’s go back to the United States, mom is still lying in the hospital.”

”The doctor said mom has at most one month left.” Alice lowered her eyes, ”Sister, actually, mom has been quite good to us.”

”I know.” Lisha stopped in her tracks, looking at her seriously, ”If you want to back out now, I won’t blame you.”

Alice forced a smile: ”Sister, let’s go.”

...

Early the next morning, when Emma opened her eyes, she saw Lisha and Alice sitting by the bedside, with surprise in her eyes: ”Lisha, Alice, you finally came.”

”Mom, I’m sorry, we’ve been too busy lately...” Lisha apologized with a smile, ”But we’ve already dealt with our work, and from now on, we’ll accompany you for your treatment.”

”Thank you.” Emma said emotionally, holding her daughters’ fingers, ”With you here, I’m not afraid anymore. By the way, has the issue with Amy been resolved?”

”Not yet, it might take a while.” Alice playfully shook Emma, ”Mom, we are your biological daughters.”

”I know, dear.” Emma smiled weakly, ”During this time lying in the hospital, I’ve thought a lot. Lisha, Alice, I know you like Monique, and I also know you dislike Amy.

But, listen to me, Monique is your blood brother, wanting to be together is absolutely impossible.

I hope after I’m gone, you won’t trouble Amy anymore. I’ve let Luo Xiang down, and I don’t know if I will be forgiven in Heaven. Lisha, Alice, promise me, okay?”

The two sisters nodded hurriedly.

”This way, I can rest assured.” Emma linked her daughters’ hands, ”L.L’s future depends on you, but what belongs to Amy, you must give her. I hope you understand.”

A flicker of a strange color passed through Alice’s eyes: ”Mom, don’t talk like that, your illness can definitely be cured. When that happens, it’s better for L.L to be led by you.”

”Don’t comfort me anymore.” Emma sighed deeply, ”I’m quite aware of my condition, otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone to China and done foolish things. Sadly, why do people only realize these things at the end?”

”Mom, you’re too pessimistic. If you had come to the hospital earlier, maybe you’d be well by now.” Alice gently stroked Emma’s arm, ”Mom, seeing you like this really makes us feel bad.”

”Silly child.” Emma wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes, ”Since you were little, you’ve always had the sweetest mouth.”

”Mom, how do you feel?”

Emma happily gestured: ”It’s not bad.”

Alice stepped forward, intimately looped her arm around Monique’s and swung it: ”Brother, when did you get here? Did you know that my sister and I would come today?”

”Just got here.” Monique glanced at her indifferently, his gaze paused on the arm she was holding. Alice quickly let go, a look of disappointment in her eyes.

”Emma, I’ve already informed the lawyer.” Monique said, shifting his gaze to Lisha and Alice, ”But I’m afraid Amy won’t be able to come.”

”If she can’t make it, she can’t make it. The important thing is that before I was admitted to the hospital, I had her sign off on her share.” Emma sighed lightly, ”She has been through a lot.”

Monique checked the time: ”Mom, rest for a while, we’ll go for some breakfast first.”

”Alright.”

After talking for a while, Emma was indeed tired, and she agreed happily, closing her eyes.

...

Monique ushered the two sisters into the car and spoke directly: ”What happened to Amy, was it you two who did it?!” His tone was both questioning and certain.

”What happened to Amy?” Alice’s eyes widened with innocence, ”Brother, what happened to Amy really?”

”You don’t know?” Monique snorted coldly, ”Alice, I know your temperament very well—do you think this pretense is amusing?”

”Brother, what are you talking about? I don’t understand.” Alice clung onto Lisha’s arm and swung it, looking wronged, ”Sister, why is our brother saying this about me?

What have I done wrong to make our brother dislike me so much? Sister, tell me, and I’ll change immediately to make our brother pleased.”

”It’s okay.” Lisha gently patted her, ”Our brother isn’t blaming you. Maybe it’s because of mom’s health that he’s in a bad mood and is speaking to us like this.”

”If I said you weren’t involved in that thing...” Monique suddenly approached and grabbed Lisha by the throat, ”Would you believe me?”

”If our brother wants to, he can strangle me right now.” Lisha closed her eyes, ”To me and Alice, you’re the best man in the world, so we like you.

If that’s wrong, I have nothing to say. If just because of this, you’d suspect that everything concerning Amy was done by us, then I also have nothing to say.

Brother, if my death will make you feel better, then do it. Anyway, living like this is tough for me too.

Death might be a form of release, and I can keep mom company in Heaven, she wouldn’t be lonely, and I wouldn’t have to suffer anymore.”

”You think saying this will make me believe you?” Monique’s eyes narrowed dangerously, ”I’ve checked personally, the Japan deal was completely arranged by you two, how do you explain that?”

Alice rushed forward, trying to pry Monique’s arm away: ”Brother, let go of sister. I’ll explain this.”

”Fine, go ahead!”

”Cough, cough, cough...” Released, Lisha started coughing vigorously.

”Sister...” Alice gently stroked Lisha’s back, gave Monique a reproachful look, ”Brother, wouldn’t you be hurt if something happened to our sister?”

”Get to it!” Monique’s brow furrowed in impatience.

”At that time, sister got the company in Japan to contact Amy, hoping she could establish the business in China, that way she wouldn’t have to come to France.

Our brother should know, my sister and I don’t want you and Amy to be together. You can scold us, but it’s impossible for us, out of a woman’s instinctual jealousy, to be happy about you and her being together.”

”Do you think I’ll buy that?” Monique tilted Alice’s chin up, ”Alice, I know you’re a Taekwondo black belt—did you really think I wouldn’t know?”

”And what’s the problem with that?” Alice’s eyes widened innocently, ”I practiced Taekwondo for self-defense, is that also wrong in our brother’s eyes?

Alright, if our brother thinks it’s wrong for me to practice Taekwondo, then from now on, I won’t practice it. Is that okay?”

Monique pushed her away and looked at Lisha: ”And you and Liu Yiming, what’s going on there?”

Lisha chuckled: ”Is our brother getting jealous?”
