Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 671: Chapter 394: Truth / Alliance

”Wait a minute!” Seeing Luo Ye about to leave, Yu Na hesitated for a moment and urgently called out to her.

Luo Ye stepped back, looking at her puzzled: ”Is there something else?”

Yu Na raised an eyebrow at her: ”Do you feel proud seeing Zhu Jiangyu chasing after me?”

”What do you mean?” Luo Ye frowned, ”You said yourself that you’ve come to terms with it, or were those just empty words?”

”Alright, it seems you really don’t know.” Yu Na revealed a bitter smile, ”Could you please tell Zhu Jiangyu to stop wasting his effort? I’ve given up on Ye Xuan, so he shouldn’t trouble himself anymore.”

”You mean...” Luo Ye looked at her in disbelief.

”That’s right, he’s pursuing me to smooth things over for you and Ye Xuan. He’s worried that I might ruin your relationship, so he came up with this idea.

At first, I was thrilled to discover he had dumped you. It made me happy that he didn’t fancy you but liked me, and that gave me a sense of accomplishment.

But just recently, when I was waiting for him in his dorm, I accidentally saw his notebook. It’s ridiculous, he’s chasing me because he felt guilty about the past with you and wants to make amends, hoping you’d be happy. Tell me, isn’t that laughable?”

Luo Ye fell silent for a long while before sighing slowly, ”He’s probably grateful to my father for everything he’s done for his family.”

Yu Na shook her head, ”Not just that, he genuinely likes you, Luo Ye. Honestly, I’m not convinced. What’s so good about you that all the nice guys fall head over heels for you?

But as much as I begrudge it, I won’t keep making mistakes. What I need to do is use my own abilities to make those who wronged me regret it and let them see who’s the best!”

”Yu Na, thank you.” Luo Ye looked at her earnestly, ”No matter what happens to our relationship in the future, I’m grateful you told me about this.”

”I have my pride. If it weren’t for Zhu Jiangyu’s father being a hero, I would definitely seek revenge.” Yu Na puffed up with pride, ”Luo Ye, from now on, I’ll make myself a truly formidable competitor for you!”

”I’ll be waiting.” Luo Ye smiled, ”Compared to the you lost in jealousy, I prefer the proud you.”

Yu Na arched an eyebrow, ”Compared to Ji Sisi, you interest me more. I hope love won’t dull your fighting spirit; that would disappoint me.”

Luo Ye smiled faintly and turned to leave.

”Remember to look for Zhu Jiangyu.” Yu Na called after her and then explained, ”Don’t misunderstand, I’m not telling you this so you would leave Ye Xuan out of guilt.

I just don’t want Zhu Jiangyu to waste his efforts so foolishly. Better advise him to focus on his studies, the Zhu Family can only rely on him now.”

For a moment, Luo Ye found Yu Na not so disagreeable. It’s commonplace for women to vie for love and happiness out of jealousy. The madness of not attaining it is detestable, but the grace of letting go is admirable.

Perhaps, Yu Na didn’t even realize she’s starting to like Zhu Jiangyu a little. Otherwise, why would she be considering his feelings so much?

Luo Ye glanced at the time, 9:21, there’s still time. She then detoured towards the male dormitory area and upon arriving downstairs, just happened to run into Wu Zetian, who greeted her with a cheeky grin, ”Luoluo, missed me?”

”If anyone’s missing you, it’s Sister Keke, not me.” Luo Ye hesitated briefly before asking, ”Old Wu, where do you plan on spending the Spring Festival this year?”

”I’m heading to Grandpa and Grandma’s...” Wu Zetian smiled awkwardly, ”I haven’t seen them in almost a year, and I miss them a lot.”

”Yes, it’s good to spend the festivals with them and have a lively time. You could also suggest to them to come back to the country next Spring Festival. After all, the festive atmosphere is best felt back at home.” Luo Ye smoothly changed the subject, ”Old Wu, regarding your situation with Sister Keke, don’t feel burdened because I introduced you.

If you have feelings for her, continue. But if there’s no spark, don’t force it. I hope you both find happiness, got it?”

Wu Zetian nodded happily, ”I understand, Luoluo. Just give me some time. No matter the outcome, you can’t ignore me.”

”No problem.” Luo Ye breathed a sigh of relief, ”Could you do me a favor and go to room 405, get Zhu Jiangyu down for me?”

”What do you want with him?” Wu Zetian became guarded.

”It’s a long story, and I can’t say anything without his consent. With the winter vacation coming up, I just hope he can go home with a light heart and enjoy the Spring Festival. Old Wu, he did it to help me, so I must repay this kindness.”
