Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 663: Chapter 388: Su Sha’s Call/Going to Regiment A_2

Luo Ye stared intently at Hang Menglin: ”Coach Hang, I want to ask you, if you were me and someone did this to you, what would you do?”

”I would do the same as you did.” Hang Menglin replied without hesitation, and then added, ”Even more severe, perhaps. For example, using the resources at my disposal to suppress the other party, no healing allowed, directly capturing them.”

Luo Ye smiled and nodded: ”Actually, after spending some time together, I have discovered that you are quite a decent person, very straightforward.”

”No need to butter me up, I have my own principles...” Hang Menglin pointed at the chair opposite: ”Sit, I wish to have a few words with you.”

”Please go on!” Luo Ye took the seat that belonged to Feng Tianzhi, as instructed.

Hang Menglin stared at her for a while, then said: ”You’re getting engaged to Ye Xuan?”

”Yes!” Luo Ye nodded.

”If possible, I mean if, it’s best if you talk to Yu Na. I really don’t want her to continue entangled between you and Ye Xuan.” Hang Menglin sighed, ”I admit my own shortcomings, a bit arrogant, caring too much about what others think.

Because of this personality, at the beginning of your enrollment, I was thinking of making Yu Na stand out more than everyone else. Back then, I truly hoped that she could fulfill the wishes that I couldn’t.

Due to preconceived notions, I really had some misunderstandings about you, which is why so many conflicts occurred between us. For that, I sincerely apologize.”

Luo Ye chuckled: ”The training matter, it’s really nothing.”

”Stop playing saint!” Hang Menglin glared at her: ”I’m speaking about the issue at hand, don’t pretend to be magnanimous with me.”

Luo Ye frowned, ”Please continue... If you’re done, I’d like to request a leave.”

”I’m not finished.” Hang Menglin continued, ”The old master of Yu Family did ask me to help with Yu Na and Ye Xuan’s situation, but I didn’t agree.

So, don’t say that I’m overly biased towards Yu Na in the future. If that were true, do you think it would have been so easy for you and Ye Xuan to get together?”

”Are you asking for a compliment?” Luo Ye nodded: ”You really are a principled female soldier, I like that.”

Hang Menglin rolled her eyes: ”I didn’t do it to be liked by you, I’m just telling you my principles. I hope you understand, if I question your leave, it’s not because I’m targeting you, but out of a soldier’s principle, and for your own good.

Otherwise, I would have just said yes since the superiors have already directed that you’re to move freely, and to just give me a heads-up when leaving the campus.”

Luo Ye looked at her strangely: ”Coach Hang, have you been brainwashed by aliens?”

Hang Menglin waved her hand impatiently: ”Can’t I have a serious conversation with you? If you’re leaving, get going, but remember to come back as soon as you’re done, and remember the favor I asked of you.”

”Yes!” Luo Ye responded, stood up, took a few steps, then turned back and glanced suspiciously, ”Hurry up!” Hang Menglin scowled at her.

”Yes!” Luo Ye quickly darted out, yet did not notice that Hang Menglin, who had been scowling, now had a hint of a subdued smile in her eyes.

Regarding Luo Ye, Hang Menglin genuinely admired her more than being jealous now. The reason was actually the incident involving Qiao Xiaowan. She estimated that even with her own skills, dodging Qiao Xiaowan would be a narrow escape.

That being said, Luo Ye truly was a promising young talent. She appreciated real fighters, so her attitude towards Luo Ye had improved a lot.

As for her skepticism about Luo Ye taking leave, it was indeed as she said, she didn’t want to attract criticism before any outcomes were certain.

There is a saying, ”Your greatest understanding may come from your rival.” It was through the collisions with Luo Ye that Hang Menglin felt that Luo Ye was definitely not the kind of person others suspected, nor would she condescend to such actions!

”Luo Ye, you’re here?” Luo Ye pushed open the door to Ye Xuan’s office and Bai Yan greeted her warmly.

”Hello.” Luo Ye smiled and nodded, taking a seat on the sofa.

As Bai Yan prepared tea, she explained: ”Deputy Commander Ye has an important meeting and might only finish around five, so he’s not here at the moment.”

Luo Ye nodded: ”I know, I called him before coming.”

”Actually...” Bai Yan looked a bit uneasy, ”I overheard your phone call to him, knew he left the door unlocked for you, and that’s why I deliberately waited here for you.”

”Is there something you need?”

Bai Yan hesitated for a moment: ”I’m really sorry about Qiao Xiaowan’s incident. I’ve been wanting to apologize and haven’t found the opportunity. Today, I waited especially for you just to say sorry, and I hope you can forgive me.”

Luo Ye waved it off: ”It’s all in the past, it’s nothing.”

”I won’t hide it from you, I’ve always liked Deputy Commander Ye. Although I had decided to give up, when there was a chance, I still thought about seizing it.” Bai Yan sighed, ”Now, knowing about Qiao Xiaowan’s ordeal, I’m really grateful I didn’t go crazy for love.”

”Women can sometimes be selfish when it comes to love, I understand.” Luo Ye smiled in comprehension: ”You don’t have to keep dwelling on that incident.”

”I heard you two are officially getting engaged?” Bai Yan asked with a slightly rigid expression.

”Yes, on the ninth day of the first lunar month.”

”Congratulations!”

”Thank you!”

”That...” Bai Yan hesitated for a moment, ”You wait here, I have to get busy.” And with that, she rushed out without looking back.

Luo Ye sighed softly, understanding her feelings. After all, it was love, and even after deciding to give up, hearing about the other getting officially engaged still hurts. It seems she was really lucky, how did she catch the eye of Handsome Ye?

Thinking of the purpose of her visit, she couldn’t help but hum: ”Trouble!” She then got up and sat in Handsome Ye’s dedicated throne.
