Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 486: Chapter 290: Returning Home Late at Night (Part 2)

”I didn’t tell you to fight.” Luo Ye, who was originally in a gloomy mood, showed a smile.

”Hehe, you looked so serious, I thought you were going to ask me to beat someone up.” Xing Nong stuck out her tongue, having been familiar with Luo Ye for so long, she knew her personality well and could tell from her expression that something serious had happened. All she could do was to help and try to cheer her up, to make her feel more relaxed.

”After Little Bei finishes the call, you call Young Master Qu.” Luo Ye glanced at the time and pondered for a while: ”Ask him to book a 8:30 PM flight ticket from Sha City to Feidao City for tonight, and two return flight tickets for 5:10 AM tomorrow from Feidao City to Sha City, and trouble him to wait for me at the airport.

If any classmates call, take down their names for me and tell them to let us use their phones today, I will give each of them a 50 yuan phone card when I return.”

”Luoluo, I can handle the tasks you assigned, but, leaving school like this, you might get expelled.” Xing Nong looked worried, she wasn’t clear about the specifics of the situation but knew that Luo Ye was in a hurry, so she refrained from asking too many questions, yet she couldn’t help but remind her.

”It’s now six fifty-two, I’m going to ask Instructor Hang for leave, don’t worry.” Luo Ye said as she ran into the dorm to grab her ID and then dashed towards the fifth team’s office like the wind.

”She would agree? I doubt it.” Xing Nong pursed her lips, tears swirling in her eyes, Yaoguang who had been standing by her patted her: ”Believe in Luoluo, she knows what she’s doing, and besides, becoming a soldier is her dream.”

”Yao Yao, I used to think you were weird, but now I see you’re actually quite adorable.” Xing Nong rubbed her cheeks against Yaoguang’s shoulder: ”Always appearing at the right time, how do you do it?”

”I don’t follow you guys around, but that doesn’t mean I don’t care, I just think it’s weird if three people always stick together, I’m worried others might misunderstand.” Yaoguang smiled faintly: ”Someone rumored that I am a lesbian.”

”Who dares to say that? Yao Yao, tell me who, I’ll go and flatten her so she won’t even recognize herself!” Xing Nong was so angry her eyebrows stood on end.

”Alright, Little Bei is done with the phone call, hurry up and go.”

...

Half an hour later.

Hang Menglin personally drove Luo Ye to the airport. The road was smooth, and forty minutes later, the car stopped outside the airport. Luo Ye nodded to Hang Menglin: ”Instructor Hang, thank you!”

”I’m not doing this for you, don’t flatter yourself, and our relationship remains the same as before, don’t be too hopeful.” Hang Menglin said, frowning: ”Now get out of the car, why are you still sitting there?”

”Instructor, goodbye!” Luo Ye quickly jumped out of the car, and before she could stabilize herself, the car had already sped away. The corners of her mouth lifted into a smile; she had indeed made the right bet!

”Ye’er, what exactly happened?” Qu Yue stood at the airport entrance, looking around, and hurried forward when he saw Luo Ye approaching.

”It’s hard to explain in a few words, Boss Qu, thanks.” Luo Ye extended her hand: ”Give me the ticket, you better hurry back to school, or you’ll end up locked outside.”

”I’ll go back to Feidao City with you.” Qu Yue grabbed the large bag from Luo Ye’s hands: ”In the middle of the night, how can I rest easy with you traveling alone?”

”Oh come on, what are you worried about with my skills?” Luo Ye swung her fists: ”Which fool would dare come close and try me?”

Qu Yue shook his head: ”Still no, we’re coming back tomorrow anyway, it won’t delay anything.”

”Right, change the return flight to 11 AM, Instructor Hang has reported to the principal, I just need to return to school by 3 PM for a physical examination, but I’ve got to stay hungry until then.” Luo Ye smiled helplessly: ”What a complicated person.”

”I’m making the call now.” Qu Yue started dialing.

Qu Yue finally relented after Luo Ye tugged at his arm: ”As soon as you finish the call, hurry back, I won’t be polite if I definitely need help, but I can handle this myself, why bother involving two people?”

”I don’t have class tomorrow morning, I can return to school by 4:30 PM.”

”Alright then.” Luo Ye nodded helplessly, knowing all too well the hidden stubbornness in Young Master Qu after dealing with him for so long.

...

At 10:36 PM, the plane gently landed in Feidao City. With Luo Ye preoccupied, Qu Yue didn’t bother her, leaning on the seat and dozing off along the way.

”Boss Qu, hurry up.” Luo Ye urged as she ran.

”Miss, you’ve developed rocket legs now;_even I with my flying legs can’t keep up.” Qu Yue joked as he quickened his steps.

Luo Ye awkwardly scratched her head: ”I’m just really in a rush.”

As the two exited the airport gate, a taxi swiftly turned around, the driver sticking his head out: ”Sir, ma’am, where to? I’m familiar with all the hotels in Feidao City, I absolutely won’t take a detour, honesty first.”

”Drive, to Fenyang Road, building 1, number 26.” The driver’s words had barely finished when both were already seated in the back.

”That won’t work, I don’t know that place.” The driver coldly gave them the brush-off: ”You better take another car.”

”Stop talking, just drive, I’ll guide you.” Luo Ye glared: ”Don’t think I don’t know, you’re just waiting to rip off out-of-towners. Refusing a ride incurs a 300 yuan fine each time, and exceeding the limit results in revocation of operation license, are you sure about that?”

”Miss, I’m not lying to you, I really don’t know the way, please guide me.” The driver’s tone softened.

Following Luo Ye’s directions, the car stopped at the destination, Qu Yue handed money to the driver: ”Be more honest in your business, are you really saying you don’t know the way?”

”He definitely knows, a few times I deliberately delayed and he always had his turn signal on, that’s just conditioned reflex.” Luo Ye ’huffed’ as she got out of the car: ”I’ve noted down your license plate.”

”I don’t want the money, we night drivers don’t have it easy, we all want to earn more, please be generous...”
