Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 391: Chapter 229: Words Left Unspoken

Feeling Luo Ye’s gaze, Ye Mo subtly shook his head.

The new chief instructor had arrived at the front of the squad, and after exchanging salutes with him, Ye Mo turned to the students: ”This is Major Mo Datong, from the C Army’s Iron Second Division. From now on, he will take over my position!”

The students unanimously turned their gazes towards Mo Datong. He was about 180 cm tall, with a sturdy build, jet-black eyebrows, narrow eyes, single eyelids, a piercing gaze, straight nose, thick lips, and dark skin. Standing there, he emanated an imposing aura without anger.

Compared to Ye Mo’s handsomeness, Mo Datong seemed a bit less so, but in terms of demeanor, he was not at all inferior to the former. After the salute exchange with Ye Mo, he scanned the group: ”At ease!”

”Hello everyone! For the next sixty-one days, I will be with all of you. Many of you might be quite curious, or rather, have many speculations about the sudden change of commanders.

So, let me tell you the truth. A sudden change is also a part of the training subjects. In war, when a formation is disrupted, it is necessary to temporarily form a new formation with different troops, and the commander naturally may also change. So, let’s start from the basic training to learn how to adapt to different commanders and their different teaching methods!”

”Report!”

”Step forward!”

A male student stepped forward: ”Excuse me, instructor, will our chief instructor change again within the next sixty-one days?”

Mo Datong looked at him expressionlessly: ”I have already said that I will spend the next sixty-one days with you all. Did you not understand what I meant?”

”Report, instructor. Initially, Chief Ye had also said this, but then suddenly, he left. Yesterday Mr. Ye also said something similar, and today he is leaving too!”

Mo Datong stepped forward a few steps, standing in front of the male student: ”As a student, no matter who the chief instructor is, what you should do is to train hard and complete the tasks as per the chief instructor’s requirements. Understand?”

”Report, instructor, I understand! However, each chief instructor has their own set of methods and routines, and if the students have not even grasped the basics and the instructors are switched, I believe this is extremely irresponsible towards the students.”

Mo Datong glanced at Ye Mo and Hang Menglin with a slight difficulty. Seeing this, Ye Mo stepped forward: ”May I add a few words?” Mo Datong nodded and stepped aside.

Ye Mo shouted at the male student: ”Return to the ranks!”

”Yes!”

After the student returned to the ranks, Ye Mo smiled lightly: ”Let me answer the lingering questions. The sudden change of Chief Ye was because he had an important mission to attend to, so urgent that he couldn’t even bid farewell. As for Coach Hang and I, we are directly under Army Group A, whereas the 16 selected members are to participate in exercises under both Army Group A and B.

The reason for the temporary change today, like Major Mo said, is to let everyone get used to the sudden change of commanders during the basic training. This is also a test of your psychological resilience. I believe that under any leader, you will all achieve good results and turn in a satisfactory performance.

Also, I need to add, Major Mo belongs to Army Group C and has no connection with the two major army groups involved in this exercise, which ensures relative fairness. Does anyone have any other questions?”

”No!”

”Then I and Major Mo will now officially handover!” Ye Mo turned and saluted Mo Datong, then stepped back.

”At ease!”

Mo Datong pointed to an instructor next to him: ”This is Captain Yue Santie, the assistant chief instructor for this training and my aide. As for the other assistant instructors, I won’t introduce them one by one. You will gradually get to know them in training!

Now, start with morning exercises. After warming up, do 150 push-ups on the spot. Those who complete the task can rest early and go have breakfast. At 7:00 sharp, we will proceed with today’s selection, a 20-kilometer mountain cross-country with a weight load. The last three to return will be eliminated, and the first five to return will receive bonus points, in the order of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Understood?”

”Understood!” The students replied with bitter faces. It was now 6:25 AM. Doing 150 push-ups and then having breakfast in a total of 35 minutes, followed by a 20-kilometer mountain cross-country, was clearly a challenge to their stomachs!

As Luo Ye lay on the ground, he quietly muttered to Xing Nong: ”Dude, I’ll rush to finish and go have breakfast, then I’ll go ask Brother Ye a few questions and won’t wait for you and Yaoguang.”

Xing Nong nodded: ”Got it, please beg him to secure our medicine well.”

”No talking during training!” A short instructor walked over, stepping lightly on Xing Nong’s buttocks: ”Don’t stick it up so high!”
